Breaking Fate

Luggage, sometimes it's not your best friend!

I have Harry start throwing stuff into bags for us while I hop onto the computer and try to get another flight.
20 minutes later, I had found a pretty good one that was leaving in about four hours. It was headed to England. I had always wanted to go there and I figured now was the time to do so.

“Harry, how about a flight to England leaving in four hours,” I called up the stairs.

“4 hours,” he shouted from upstairs, “are you kidding me?! We haven’t barely packed or gotten the houses ready, we haven’t eaten, the boys aren’t ready, it’s like almost a 2 hourdrive down to the airport!....” Harry just kept shouting reasons why we shouldn’t go from upstairs, so while he was blubbering about that, I took the mouse and clicked, right on the ‘finalize checkout’ button.

I smirked as he continued to shout from up the stairs. He then poked his head over the railing of the stairs and shouted down another reason. “Harry, have you become a woman or something, it’s the woman’s job to worry, the man’s job to suck it up and do it,” I shout. He immediately shut up as his face turned a light shade of red. “Thought so,” I muttered as I shut the laptop off.

I placed the last item of clothing I thought I might need for the trip, in my suitcase, again and zipped it shut. I had packed a lot of clothes for colder weather, but I had also thrown in a pair of shorts, a dress, and a tank top.

I throw on a comfortable outfit and drag my suitcase down the stairs, adding it to the line of suitcases sitting next to the front door. “Let’s go,” I shout up the stairs as I start to push the suitcases out the front door, pushing them to the back of Harry’s car. I look at the time on my phone and see that we have about 2 and a-half-hours to catch that flight to England. “Hurry,” I shout as they come running out of the house.
Harry speeds down the road, paying to attention to the fact that he’s going about 15 miles per hour over the speed limit.

We arrive at the airport about an hour and a-half later. I jump out of the car and grab the two boys, and pull the luggage out of the car, as I head inside to the tram place that will get us a tram that will take us to the airport.

I quickly figure it out with the guy inside and he comes out to help with our luggage. We walk outside, and when harry sees me, he pulls backwards to go find a spot, but runs right over the luggage. The guy behind me just says, “Who’s that idiot?” I ignore him as I look at the run over luggage in the middle of the street. One of the bags exploded, another has a huge dent in it, and another got stuck on something in the bottom of the car. “Oh shit,” I mutter as I look at my luggage, the one that exploded all over the road, “so much for organized packing.”
