Breaking Fate

I stare at Harry who is as white as a sheet of paper. He starts breathing very heavily as he pulls me to him, holding me like he is in a tug-of-war game and I’m the prize. He releases me after a few minutes and his face is finally back to the right skin color. “Well,” he says and looks up at me, “we need to take a vacation.” I just look at him in question before I realize his reasoning. If we’re not here, Troy will not be able to do anything to Aiden, or me. I smile and nod. “Well, we need to leave soon,” I say. He nods and hops out of the pool, tying a towel around his waist and leading me into his house where I grab his computer and open the delta website.

An hour later, I strike gold. “Here’s a flight,” I say, “and it leaves in 2 hours.” Harry comes walking over and peers over my shoulder at the screen. “Cancun (it’s in southern Mexico),” he questions when he sees where I want to go. I just nod and shrug my shoulders. “I went there a few times when I was younger, and I loved it. I know a really nice resort right on the beach and it would be nice to get away from here. It will also be safer if we’re in a totally different country than he is when he gets here,” I finish. “Doesn’t he live in New York though?” Harry asks. “Yah, a totally different country,” I say. “Book it,” he says. I just nod and click, book it.

“Hay mommy,” Aiden says as he comes strutting in the door. “Pack your bag,” I say as he starts putting his stuff down. “Why mommy,” he asks. I turn towards Aiden and Nicholas, who had just walked in, “We’re going on vacation.” They start jumping up and down and cheering, “vacation,” over and over. I smile at their excited smiles as Harry winks at me before taking their hands and leading them upstairs to pack. I feel myself blushing. That boy had some effect on me.

“Ready,” I call down the stairs as I come walking out of my bedroom. I was dressed for the flight, and packed. Harry nods as he grabs his suitcase and hands me the boy’s duffle bags. I furrow my brows in confusion at this. I thought he was going to take their bags. He just smirks and scoops both the boys up at the same time, placing them on top of his bag. They squeal in delight and wrap their arms around the suitcase handle. I just smile at harry and say, “You spoil them.” He nods and says, “Why not spoil them.” I just laugh and pull open the door as Harry double checks that the back door, and all the windows are locked and the shutters are closed. He just nods when I give him a questioning look. As I walk out the door, I put a sold sign in the front yard. Troy is ruthless and will do anything for what he wants. I lock the house door and we climb into Harry’s truck. I will be leaving my car in Harry’s garage. And we pull out of the driveway, heading towards the airport. I look over at Harry and think, I have only kissed this guy, and here I am flying halfway around the world with him. Desperate times do call for desperate measure.

We pull up to the airport and grab our suitcases, Aiden and Nicholas climbing on Harry’s again. We walk through the doors of the airport and head upstairs to the check-in desk. We check in and head towards customs where we end up waiting for about an hour since the security guard kept making Nicholas walk through the metal detector and kept patting him down. The damn kid’s 6 years old! God I hated customs. After an hour of pat downs, tears from Nicholas, and a lot of yelling from Harry that was directed towards the security guards, we are walking towards our gate number. AS we turn the corner, and are no longer visible to customs, I hear Harry mutter some profanities, most likely about that crabby security guard. I’m so with him on that one!

We head over to the check-in desk at our gate and quickly check-in, then proceeding to take a seat. 20 minutes later, I hear the lady at the check-in desk announce: “Flight 1021 is just landing so we will begin boarding in about a half an hour. I groan as I slam my magazine down on the table. This 2o minutes was already torture, now a half an hour. I wonder why I hate airports.

I finally see people filing off the plane as I sit there holding a grumpy Aiden. “Ladies and gentlemen, boarding will begin in 10 minutes, but for now please make way for the New York passengers to get through,” The lady announces. I immediately stiffen. Troy is coming from New York, and my dad said he would be arriving around noon. He also said he was arriving by Delta in a text. It takes me about 2 seconds for me to go through these detail before, “Oh shit,” I say as I start tugging on Harry’s arm. “We have to hide,” I say. “Why,” he questions, looking up at me from his magazine. I start breathing heavily as I say, “Troy is on that plane,” and motion towards the crowd of people who are disembarking the plane. “Oh shit,” Harry says as he jumps up from his seat and grabs Aiden and Nicholas, tossing them on top of his suitcase. I start gathering my stuff when I see a tall, sandy haired, icy eyed man. I stop dead in my tracks, right outside the gate. I feel like my breathing has just been cut off. Then, his ice blue eyes turn towards me, and when they catch my eyes and see the two boys on Harry’s suitcase and Harry, he stiffens. I look into his eyes and see his hatred for me. Oh shit.

Finally! Damn my sister and her "huge report" she said she had to do! Here it is, finally! I will try to update within the coming week. I will add a character for Troy so you know what he looks like! Ok,
