Angels Wear Black

I walked into the kitchen, and noticed Aunt Lynn reading a letter.
"Hello, Aunt Lynn." I said, smiling. She looked at me, eyebrow raised.
"I see you signed up." I smiled, and nodded.
"Yeah. I figured, what's the worse that can happen?" She stood up, and handed me the letter.
"And you're doing a duet. With a boy named Harry Styles? Who, I believe is also your boyfriend?' She asked.
"Who did you know?" I asked. She crossed her arms.
"We have cameras on the porch. I thought you knew that." I looked at the ground. Crap."I'm fine with you dating him. I just, want to talk to you." She motioned for me to sit at the table. She handed me a glass of Cream Soda. This must be serious. "I want you to be careful. I don't want you making the same mistakes I did when I was your age."
"Mistakes?" I asked.
"When I was your age, I had a boyfriend. His name was James. And let me tell you. We made crazy mistakes that I wish I never did." She took a deep breath, and looked at me, I gulped. "I ended up getting pregnant." I scooted back.
"What?" I asked. Aunt Lynn, pregnant. At my age?
"Yes. But, I gave the child up for adoption. I was only sixteen." Wow, wow wow. Sixteen? "He left right when i told him. Literally, left He packed up his things, and moved in with is dad in Florida. I was heart broken."
"But, now you have Uncle Rob." She smiled.
"Yes. I do. And he's been through hell and high water with me." I laughed.
"Why didn't you have another child?" I asked.
"When I had the first one, there were...complications. I was no longer able to conceive. You should have seen your Uncle Rob's face when I told him." Her eyes glistened with tears. I looked at the table. "What I'm trying to say is, I don't want you making the same mistakes I did. You have such a bright future ahead of you. Don't let it go to waste." I hugged her.
"I won't." I said. She pulled back, and looked me in the eyes.
"Promise?" I nodded.
"Promise to my future."
