More Than This

“That movie was amazing!” I said as soon as we were out of the theater.

“It is called The Amazing Spiderman, Nora.” Zayn laughed as he threw away our empty popcorn bag. “I’ll be right back; I have to go to the bathroom.” Zayn announced and made his way to the restrooms. “Wait for me right there!” He called as he backed into the doorway. I laughed and sat down in the first chair I could find. “Alright, ready when you are.” Zayn came out of the bathroom a few minutes later, wiping his hands on the back of his jeans.

“You did wash your hands, right?” I looked at him skeptically.

“Never.” Zayn wiped his damp hand across my cheek.

“Oh, gross!” I laughed and wiped my face off. “That’s so gross!”

“It’s only water.” Zayn laughed and wiped his hands dry the rest of the way on his pants.

“I hate you.” I laughed and continued to wipe my face.

“Awe, I love you too, babe!”

“So are you going to tell me what’s wrong with you, now?” I asked as we exited the theater.

“Soon, I promise.” Zayn casually draped his arm over my shoulder.

“Why not now?” I said in a demanding tone, removing his arm.

“It’s just not the right time. It’ll ruin a lot for me, so please, just wait.” Zayn replied in a calm tone. “If you’re really my friend, you can wait for the right time.”

“Fine.” I promised. “I’ll wait.” We walked to the bus in silence for a few seconds before I stopped at the door and turned to face him. “How soon is soon?” I asked. Zayn chuckled and nudged me towards the open bus door.

“Soon.” I rolled my eyes.

“That tells me nothing.” I grumbled under my breath and walked up the steps. When we got to the top of the steps, the rest of the boys were crowded around waiting for me. I shook my head and mouthed ‘soon’. They all groaned in unison.

“Good to see you too, guys.” Zayn chuckled and stood next to me.

“Well, I’m headed to bed. I’m dead tired.” I announced. “I had fun today, Zayn.” I smiled and went to my bunk.

Zayn’s POV

“I had fun today, Zayn.” Nora smiled and went back to her bunk. I watched as Nora lifted herself onto her bunk.

“Something you want to share with the rest of the class, Mr. Malik?” Louis said, interrupting my thoughts.

“Like what, Lou?” I said as innocently as I could.

“Oh, I don’t know,” Louis crossed his arms. “A certain boy on this bus has a small crush on a certain clothing assistant.”

“Lou! Shut up!” I whispered and my eyes darted towards the open hallway.

“Oh my God! You do have a crush on her!” Liam yelled for the whole world to hear and laughed.

“I don’t have a crush on her!” I said and prayed to God that Nora couldn’t hear any of this. The boys gave me a skeptic look. “It’s not a crush.” I said honestly.

“So you love her?” Niall smirked and leaned against the wall.

“Maybe just a smidge, but there’s nothing I can do about it.” I shrugged and looked at the open hallway again. “And I swear if any of you tell her, there will be Hell to pay.” I warned and sat down to watch TV. “I mean it, Harry.” I said as Harry turned towards the hallway.

“You ruin all the fun.” Harry mumbled and sat down.

Nora’s POV

Today was finally the day; Jake was with us for a few days! Right in time for our three year anniversary tomorrow, too! I couldn’t wait to see him. “How do I look? Do I look like a whore? Does it make me look fat?” I asked Zayn with every outfit I tried on, but I got the same response with every outfit.

“You look great, babe. Honestly; if Jake doesn’t think so, then he’s mad.” After trying on three more outfits, I settled on one as we pulled up to the airport. Why was I so nervous about seeing Jake? We’ve been together for nearly three years, he’s seen me at my worst.

“Jake!” I yelled as soon as I saw him step off the escalator. As soon as he was able to see me, he ran for me. When he was close enough I ran to him and jumped on him, wrapping my legs around him and engulfing him in a hug. “I’ve missed you so much.” I laughed and Jake pressed his lips against mine.

“I’ve missed you, too.” He said and kissed me again. “You have no idea.”

“I think I do.” I laughed as he put me down. “I’m so excited you’re here! I’ve been hanging out with Zayn and the guys a lot, but it’s not as much fun as hanging out with you.” I smiled as Jake intertwined our fingers on our way to the baggage claim.

“That’s a lie.” Jake laughed. “You couldn’t find anything as fun as hanging out with me when you were with five of the world’s most loved guys? I find that hard to believe.”

“The first few days were Hell.” I shrugged. “But I guess after that, it was alright. I still missed you, though.”

“Awe, thanks, babe.” Jake kissed me before grabbing his small bag.

After we dropped Jake’s bag off on the bus and introduced him to everyone, we decided to take a walk at a park near the venue. “How’s work been?” I asked as he intertwined our fingers while we walked on the little dirt trail.

“It’s been good; we got a new girl in the other day.” Jake shrugged. “I’m pretty sure she’s trying to sleep her way to the top.”

“Jake!” I smacked his arm playfully and laughed. “That’s rude!”

“I’m just being honest!” Jake laughed. “She’s practically got promotions lined up with the way she’s dressed for work.”

“Oh, come on, it can’t be that bad.”

“I know she wears a bright pink thong on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Nora. It’s that bad.” I shuttered at the thought.

“Well, as long as you don’t fall for her tricks, I’m sure we’ll be safe.” Jake kissed the top of my head.

“You don’t need to worry about that.”

“Good.” I smiled

“How’s work for you?”

“The first two weeks were Hell, but that’s because Zayn was always in a foul mood, but now it’s better.” I shrugged. “It’s been boring without you around, though. We do the same thing every day, and routine is boring.”

“So do I get to watch you do your thing?” Jake nudged me.

“I don’t know how you’d feel about watching me undress and dress five boys, Jake.” I laughed. “Besides, you paid for tickets for the show tonight, you should enjoy the concert.” Jake let out an exaggerated sigh.

“I guess I could enjoy the concert.”

“Don’t waste your money.” I smiled. “Besides, I’ll be in the front row tonight; I’m sure you’ll be able to watch me at some points.”

“I have front row, too!” Jake said excitedly. “Maybe we’re sitting next to each other! We can make all the other people around us jealous with our cute couple status.”

“Sounds like a plan, babe.” I laughed and looked at the time. “Time to get going; gotta help men arrange their clothes.” Jake got in front of me and motioned towards his back.

“Hop on!” I laughed and jumped on his back before he ran to the venue.

“Where have the two lovebirds been, eh?” Louis wiggled his eyebrows as soon as Jake set me down in the dressing room.

“Don’t be a pervert, Lou.” I rolled my eyes and kissed Jake’s cheek. “You can go and find your seat, I’ll be out soon.” Jake pecked my lips and went out to find his seat amongst the sea of teenage girls. “Okay, boys; let’s get you ready.”

As soon as the boys were all dressed, I made my way past the sea of girls. I saw Jake on the other side of the stage waving like mad at me. I looked at the seat numbers and sighed in disappointment when I found my seat in the middle of the stage.

Jake: So close, but so far away :(

Nora: I know :( but we can hang out after the show, promise :)

Jake: See you then! Xx

I smiled and put my phone in my back pocket as the lights went out and the boys came on stage.

“This one’s called More Than This.” Liam said into the microphone and the girls went crazy. Every now and then throughout the song, Zayn would walk in front of me and half-smile. I didn’t think anything of it until his solo came on…

Zayn walked right over to the center of the stage in front of me and knelt down, looking straight into my eyes.

“I’ve never had the words to say
But now I’m asking you to stay
For a little while inside my arms
And as you close your eyes tonight
I pray that you will see the light
That’s shining from the stars above…”

The girl next to me was nearly having a heart attack as I walked past her to get backstage and wait for Zayn… recommend
