Summer '13
❤ Chapter Seven ❤
Mia's POV
"Thank you so much for this job, Lou. You really don't know how much I appreciate it," I said, as I followed her down a long, busy corridor.
"Oh no prob, babe! I won't be too mean," she said, giving me a wink.
We finally went into a room that said "Make-up." I think my jaw dropped. Literally. There was about twenty vanities lined up against the right wall, and about every beauty product you could imagine of, including hair appliances. There were a few girls seated in the chairs, and attached to them multitude of woman messing with their faces and hair.
"Oh my god," I breathed, speechless.
"Isn't it amazing? And I get to work here for the whole summer!" Lou squealed, taking my hand and pulling me to an empty vanity.
Just then, a stick thin brunette came barging into the room.
"Where is Lou?" She snarled. My eyes widened when she spotted us, and came storming over.
"Lou! I'm on live in ten minutes and my lipstick and mascara is hideous! It looks like a crayon raped my face!" She wailed, plopping down on a seat.
"No worries, Miss Baxter. I'll get right on it," Lou said. But instead of "getting right on it" she looked at each product, picked each one up slowly and examined it.
"Don't screw with me, Lou. I have to be on in… three minutes now!" She hissed.
Lou laughed, and quickly wiped off the light pink lipstick off the girl's face and applied a deeper red shade and then touched up her mascara simply with the flick of her wrist. The girl quickly then rocketed out of her seat, and stumbled out the door as fast as she could in her tiny outfit.
"That was Hannah," Lou said, shaking her head and grinning.
"Divas."

I juggled the stack of papers Lou told me to drop off in the Interview room. Wherever that was...
"Excuse me, where's the interview room?" I asked a guy, who was walking a few feet in front of me. He turned around, and I think I almost had a second heart attack. It was Nathan. As in Nathan Sykes from The Wanted.
"Why, hi there. I don't think I've seen you around before. What's your name, sweetheart?" He asked, giving me a grin before lifting my free hand and kissing it.
Nope. That did not just happen. Nathan did not just kiss my hand. Then, to make it even more better he slung his arm around me.
"Get your filthy hands off her," a voice growled. Both of us whipped around to find Harry, his fists clenched and his face red as a tomato.
"Oh sorry, man. I didn't know she was taken," Nathan said, giving me an apologetic smile before hurrying down the hall.
"That's right! You better run. And don't come back!" Harry yelled.
Oh god. People were staring. And pointing. Oh dear god.
"What the hell, Harry?" I asked, feeling pretty pissed.
"Hang on, just come with me. I'll explain in a minute," Harry said, pulling me down a hallway by the wrist.
"This boy is a kidnapper! Kidnapper-" I shouted, before his hand clamped down on my mouth.
"Shut up," he hissed, and then shoved me into a storage closet.
///
"You are so rude!" I gaped, feeling my face go beet red, but this time it wasn't in a good way.
"Rude? You should be thanking me! I just saved your ass out their," Harry shot back, glaring at me and folding his arms across his chest.
"What are you talking about? I was talking to Nathan Sykes," I said in exasperation.
"Nathan is nothing but a douche bag. First, he flirts with every single girl he meets while he has a girlfriend and he always breaks their hearts. Plus, he totally disses us any chance he gets! He's dangerous, Mia. More dangerous than you think," Harry warned.
"You are such a liar," I spat.
"I am not! Ask the others! Ask Louis, for damns sake. Just stay away from him. I'm already trying to get Ariana to break up with him…" he muttered the last part.
"He's dating Ariana Grande?" I asked, in shock.
"Not for long. She's my close friend and if he lays a hand on her again..." Harry seethed.
"Woah. Back the fuck up. He hits Ariana?" I asked, incredulously.
"Yes! That's why I'm trying to get him to stay away from her and all girls," he replied.
"Well sorry to disappoint you Harry, but I can take care of myself," I growled.
And with that, I collected all the dignity I still had left, and exited the small closet.
