Summer '13
❤ Chapter Six ❤
"You never told me you started singing again!" Louis said, pointing his finger at me accusingly, like I just murdered someone.
"How did you find out?" I mumbled.
"Harry told me. Care to explain?" He said, folding his arms. I studied him from my perch on the window seat, debating whether or not I should tell him.
"I'm not doing so great," I whispered, avoiding his stare.
"What do you mean?" Louis asked anxiously, sitting on the edge of my bed. His eyes looked wild, and he kept continually running a hand through his hair.
"Well I came here this summer for a reason. I needed to get away from mum… and I wanted to focus on me for once. I know quitting singing was my own choice, but mum didn't exactly like that I picked it back up. She says it reminds her too much of dad, and I wasn't sure what to do…" I muttered, hastily wiping away the single tear trailing down my cheek.
Louis was at a loss for words. He blinked once, twice.
Then before I knew it, he had engulfed me in a tight hug.
"I'm so sorry Mia. I didn't know," he said into my hair.
I smiled.
Louis's POV
After a really awkward heart-to-heart I left Mia on her laptop in her bedroom.
I sat down on the sofa, tons of thoughts racing through my mind.
Maybe I could help her get through this… depression. She doesn't seem depressed though… just… lost?
I whipped my phone out from my pocket, and punched in some numbers.
"Hello?"
"Lou? I need your help."
Lou's POV
"So you need me to get a job for Mia with me?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows in confusion.
I haven't spoken to the boys in a few weeks. I was taking a break with them until the summer was over, but for the meantime I got a pretty good gig at the X-Factor as a hair dresser.
"Yeah. She's been… out of it lately and I think a job would be good for her this summer. I don't want her just slumping around while I'm out having fun," Louis whined.
"Is she good with fashion?" I asked, playing with Lux's hands.
"I think. She keeps a sketchbook or some sort of shit like that. Just get her something she won't completely hate. She can be a good assistant or anything just please…" he pleaded.
"I'm sure I can find her something. But what do you mean out of it?" I asked, suspiciously. I was happy to do anything for one of the boys, but I didn't want some.. crazy person.
"I'm not exactly sure," Louis said sheepishly.
I smiled.
"Consider it done."
Mia's POV
*A week later*
I scanned the crowded space. It was chaos. All of these people were running around, holding things from clothes to makeup bags.
"Louis… I appreciate you trying to help but-"
"Are you Mia? It's so nice to meet you!" A girl with white-ish hair and pretty features exclaimed, popping next to me out of nowhere.
"That's me," I smiled nervously, smoothing down my hair that took me at least an hour to do. I didn't want to screw up my first day at work, so naturally it took me forever to get ready.
She pulled back to look at me. "You're perfect!" She squealed.
I smiled widely.
"I'll pick you up at four," Louis said.
"You don't have to. I've been driving for years," I said, rolling my eyes.
"I know!" He replied smugly, hugging me.
"Thank you Lou," I whispered in his ear, "it means a lot."
Notes
Double update!! I felt like I needed to put it Mia's job already, because it's getting boringggg.
I won't say much, but what I will say is that Mia's job is a huge part in the story ;)
&&&& I can't believe it's New Years Eve already >.< (For some of us, anyways).
Any New Years resolutions?
Kisses.
Emily
