Chapter 34

~Amber's P.O.V.~

After Liam and Elizabeth left, I started thinking about what she had said. She's right. If I don't talk to him, I will lose him. I decided to grow a pair and I got up to go downstairs. Once I got there, I saw Zayn crying while sitting at the kitchen table.
"Zayn?" I almost whispered as I looked at him. He looked up at me, only to start crying even more. "Zayn, can we please talk about this? I don't understand." Zayn nodded his head and I sat down at the table in another chair. I looked at him, and grabbed one of his hands.
"I-I don't know what to t-tell you Amber," Zayn managed to get out. I felt tears start to roll down my cheeks.
"Why don't you want to keep trying?" I softly asked him. He shrugged his shoulders a little.
"I don't kn-now," Zayn admitted to me, giving my hand a little squeeze. "I think you deserve to try again with someone else, so that you can remember it."
"Zayn, that's not what I think though," I replied. "If I wanted someone else, the second I woke up from that coma I would've been out the door." Zayn nodded his head.
"I know. But I still don't think it's fair that-" I cut him off.
"Zayn, life isn't fair. I know it's not fair to either of us, but we should still keep trying. If we do, then we can make new memories," I said in a soothing tone.
"I'm so sorry Amber," Zayn said, pulling away from me and putting his face in his hands.
"It's okay. Can we just look past this? For us?" I asked him as I rubbed his back gently.
"Yeah, anything for you," Zayn replied as he took his hand in mine again and stood up. He softly kissed my lips.
"I'm tired, lets go to bed please," I said as I started to walk up the stairs. Zayn followed me and crawled into bed after me. I'm so happy that I didn't lose him.
