Stole My Heart

Laurel’s P.O.V.

The seven of us piled into the car, which was a bit difficult. Niall made sure that I sat on the end because of my claustrophobia which I thought was sweet. The boys explained that they decided to take a taxi because it would draw less attention than a limo.

“So,” I said turning to Niall. “What song are you guys going to perform?”

“Best Song Ever.” he replied.

“I love that song!” I exclaimed rather suddenly, throwing my arms up in the air. I blushed but Niall laughed.

“Are you excited?” he asked, his eyes shining.

“Well, in a way I guess. But I’m also really nervous. I don’t like being on camera and stuff like that.”

“Oh well I don’t really know what to do about the whole camera thing, but there’s no need to be worried. You look gorgeous. It’s just like going to semi in high school or prom only, famous people are performing.”

“That doesn’t make me feel a whole lot better.” I said uneasily.

“You’ll be fine.” He reassured me smiling.

“How long till we get there?” Sarah asked looking out the window at all of the lights.

“Not long now. Probably around 5 minutes.” Harry said glancing at his watch.

I looked behind me and saw another taxi behind me and wondered if it was 5SOS and Heather and Nina. “Are we riding with 5 Seconds of Summer on the way back?” I asked turning back around.

“Yup,” Louis answered. “Is that all right?”

“Oh, yeah, that’s fine.” I said turning to glance back at the taxi until Niall sprang up beside me.

“We’re here!” all five of them yelled before we filed out of the taxi.

“Whoa!” The moment we stepped outside there were flashing lights and people everywhere. I was blinking much faster than what was normal and could hardly see a thing! Niall took my hand and started leading me through the crowd and I followed blindly behind. Eventually he stopped and I almost ran into him.

“You guys made it!” Calum exclaimed. “We were starting to think that you guys had gotten lost!”

“This way,” Ashton said taking Sarah’s hand and leading the rest of us down an isle with photographers lining the sides. Security guards stood mixed in with them to keep them back as we made our way through the crowd.

We were met with shouts and screams as soon as the boys came into sight. I was blinking from all of the lights.

“You get used to all of the lights after a while,” Luke said coming up behind me and taking my hand.

“Really?” I asked. “What about the noise?”

“You won’t really notice it in a little bit. And we shouldn’t hear it once we get inside.” He replied reassuringly and squeezing my hand. “Just smile occasionally for the cameras and keep walking.”

I nodded because I didn’t think that I would be heard above the screams and did just as Luke said until we were at the entrance where he opened the door saying, “After you,” I nodded my thanks and he put an arm on my shoulder as we walked inside.
