Stole My Heart

After Luke had calmed me down, we went back inside. I told the others that I couldn't go. They were pretty upset and tried to convince me to with them, but I just couldn't. Someone went to find Niall and then the boys drove us back to our houses. I sat by Luke and Liam, trying to put as much distance between Niall and I as possible. Luke squeezed my hand or put his arm around me whenever I got upset. Niall and I didn't talk very much in the car, only when asked a question. When we got to my house, I thanked the boys and told them that I would meet up with them before they left on Wednesday. Luke walked me to the door and kissed me on the cheek before driving away with the others.

That was two days ago and I was still pretty upset with Niall. He texted and called me a million times a day, but I just ignored him. During those two days, I called Luke when I got upset or needed to talk about something. He listened patiently and always knew just what to say.

I sat in my room and was reading a book only my phone kept vibrating and distracting me. I knew that it was Niall, so I ignored it. Eventually, I got fed up with its vibrating and just answered.

"Hello?" I snapped.

"Laurel? I didn't actually think that you'd pick up!" Niall exclaimed.

"Sorry to disappoint you. I can hang up if you want." I stated flatly.

"No don't! Can we talk?" he asked.

“Right now? Over the phone? Niall, the least you could do is come to my house. Or we could meet up somewhere and talk in person. And from what I remember, last time we tried talking, you did most of the talking and wouldn’t let me get a word in.”

“Look out the window.” he said.

“What?” I questioned confused.

“Just do it,” he stated.

“Fine, but I don’t see what that has to do with any of this…” I said sighing.

I walked over to my bedroom window, drew back the curtains, opened it, and stuck my head out. To my surprise I saw Niall standing out there wearing a suit and a red tie, holding a white rose in one hand and his phone in the other.

“Are you still there?’ he asked.

“Yeah,” I replied smiling a bit.

“Can we talk?” he questioned.

“Give me a minute,” a said sighing.

I ran down the stairs, threw my shoes on, and before I knew it I was slamming the door and walking out to meet Niall.

“You said you wanted to talk?” I asked once I reached him.

“Yeah. I’m still in shock at that fact that you picked up – let alone actually came out here! I’ve been waiting out here for an hour!” he exclaimed. ”Anyway, I would like to apologize for what happened. I was only thinking about what I wanted and not about what was best for you. I honestly do want what’s best for you, but I couldn’t see past my own desires. I care about you and only wanted to make you happy. I’m sorry that things got out of hand. And I’m hoping that things could go back to the way that they were because you Laurel, are the most amazing girl that I’ve ever met. After you said no I was afraid that while I was gone you would forget all about me and-“


“Niall,” I interrupted. “I could never forget about you.” I leaned forward and kissed him on the cheek. “ I forgive you. It was really sweet of you to ask me to come on tour with you, and I would love to, but I really honestly can’t without my parents’ consent. “

"I understand," Niall said solemnly. "But just out of curiosity, would you be more likely to go with your parents' permission?"

“Well, I suppose, but that would never happen. Never in a million years.”

“We’ll see about that.” Niall said grinning.
