The Shadows Behind Us
Chapter sixteen
Hannah's POV
"Hannah, Hannah." I hear a voice gently call.
I try to open my eyelids, but they won't budge.
"You have a visitor Hannah." The voice says. It's a woman, almost sounds like my mother, but she's dead so it can't be her.
"Oh my god, Hannah!" I hear a familiar voice say.
Its Louis. I try to smile, but like my eyes, my mouth refuses to open.
"I'll leave you two some time." The woman says.
I hear her heels click on the floor as she walks away.
Louis grabs my lifeless hand and holds it to his lips.
"I love you Hannah." He whispers.
"I love you too Louis." I reply in my head.
As if magically, my eyes open and I'm able to see Louis, who is still holding my hand, crying silently.
"Lou." I whisper, my voice hoarse.
Louis' head shoots up as soon as he hears my voice.
"Hannah." He smiles, engulfing me in a hug.
"I'm never leaving you again." He whispers.
I notice the silentness in my head and begin to wondered.
"Are the shadows actually gone or was I just dreaming?"
"Gail? Elizabeth? Alley? Drake? Earnest? Jay?"
No answer. They never ignore me. They're gone, they're actually gone. I'm free of them. I hug Louis a little tighter when I realize this.
"I'm never going to be alone again."
Do it!
