Take Me There

Traveling Across The Country

Rosa’s POV

I walked along the small aisle of the airplane with Alexandria following close behind me as we made our way towards our seats while her parents and my Mom would be sitting across from us; Alexandria and I begged our parents so we could sit together on the 10 hour flight to London even though our parents didn’t need that much convincing.

Once I had finally found our seats I placed my carryon bag in the overhead compartment before I helped Alexandria place her carryon bag beside mine; I shuffled in between the seats as I was sitting next to the window which I always had to on long flights because I always got bored so I tend to just stare out the window.

“This is always the worst part, why could someone invent a quicker way to travel overseas? I don’t know if I can last being on a plane for 10 hours” I said to my best friend Alexandria who was assigned the seat right beside me so that would make me more comfortable; I sat down on my seat that we had in business class while I placed my handbag under the seat in front of me.

“I know but you have me here and we’ll probably be sleeping for most of the flight, you just don’t like taking off and turbulence” Alexandria said to me smiling as she sat down in her seat while I made sure that I had some air on me which always made me feel better; Alexandria was a lot better flyer than I was because being in an airplane just made me feel uneasy.

“Those are just some problems I have with flying, I’m praying that I can get some sleep otherwise I’m going to die of boredom” I said to her as I placed the seatbelt around my hips and fastened it tight which caused a chuckle to sound from Alexandria as she watched me; I turned my attention onto Alexandria before I simply stuck my tongue out at her while she buckled her seatbelt together.

Once the cabin crew locked the doors the plane started moving towards the runway so we could start taking off; I closed my eyes as soon as the plane started to pick up speed before the wheels left the ground as the plane ascended into the sky.

Alexandria and I spent the first few hours of the flight watching movies on her Dad’s iPad which he let us borrow for the flight so we wouldn’t cause any trouble; after a few hours Alexandria decided to read a book so I took that time to place my ear buds into my ears so I could get some sleep.

London, England

We had rooms at The Berkeley which was a beautiful but fancy hotel although I didn’t care where we stayed because I was too excited about being in London; Alexandria and I were sharing a room like her parents were while my Mom had her own room but each room was like a small apartment in itself.

“So our parents will probably want to stay here and get some rest but I was thinking that we could go explore, we don’t have to go far but I saw a café down the street we could visit” I said to Alexandria as she laid on her bed while I was unpacking my suitcase after I had explored the hotel room with her; I hated keeping my clothes in my suitcase and I’d have to unpack later in the day so I might as well do it when I get to the hotel.

“Yeah that sounds good to me, I could go for a nice hot drink right about now” Alexandria said as she pulled herself up from the bed before she grabbed her handbag and the key for the room; I placed my handbag over my shoulder while I checked my hair quickly in the mirror before we walked out of our room.

We both told our parents where we were going before we walked down the hallway so we could get the elevator down to the foyer; I was much more of a girly girl then Alexandria was as I loved makeup and hair while Alex didn’t really care that much, unless she wanted to look extra nice for something.

“So what’s it like being back here after such a long time? I mean I knew England was a beautiful place but this is just plain amazing” I said to my best friend as we walked out of the large glass doors of the hotel and onto the busy street of London; I couldn’t help but smile as we walked along the street while I looked around at the people, cars and buildings.

“I love being back here, I’ve wanted to come back for so long now. I never noticed how much I missed being here” Alex said to me as she also had a wide smile plastered to her beautiful face as we walked towards the small but cosy café together; England has always been a place that I wanted to travel to and being here with my best friend just made it better.

“Just don’t decide to move back here because then I’m going to stuck at college all alone, and I won’t visit you” I smiled at her even though part of that threat was true because I wasn’t that good at meeting new people; which is why we were so close together because both of us where shy meeting new people.

“I’m not going to move back here Rosa, but coming back here to visit more often might be nice” Alex said smiling as went to walk through the front door of the café with neither of us noticing that two guys were walking out at the same time; my arm connected with one of the guys hand that was holding onto a cup.

I watched as I bumped into him causing him to accidently drop his cup of hot coffee causing the dark brown liquid to spill all over the concrete sidewalk; I looked from the now empty cup to the guy who had been holding that cup.

“I’m so sorry, I didn’t even see you there. Please let me buy you another drink or let me give you some money” I said to the stranger who was wearing dark wash jeans with a plaid shirt covering a plain grey t-shirt; he was wearing a beanie but what caught my attention was his beautiful warm brown eyes and a heart melting smile.

“No this was entirely my fault, I wasn’t watching where I was walking. How about I buy us all a drink instead?” He said to me in his deep British accent that would make any girl weak at the knees but I couldn’t understand why he was being so nice; if someone made me drop my drink I wouldn’t be buying them one.

Before I answered him I glanced over to his blonde, blue eyes friend who was wearing jeans with a red t-shirt and black hoodie; they both seem nice enough and they were around our age so it wouldn’t hurt to talk to them, I glanced over at Alexandria as she tended to be shyer than me around people.
