Hanging By A Moment

Samantha's POV:
My head swirled around and all I could see was the intensity of the light increasing brighter and brigher.

Horn beeping, light approaching


Horn beeping, light approaching


Horn beeping, light approaching


Horn beeping, light approaching

Horn beeping, light approaching

The sequence repeated overly as my eyes remained stationary at the scene before me.

My heart fluttered as silence fell upon.

....

All I could see was light, a staircase of light before my eyes. It was bright like the sun. But this time I wasn't blinded by it, my vision has learn to adjust to the intensity of the light. I couldn't feel my heart anymore, I couldn't feel anything. All there was, was the light.

Harry's POV:
I don't know what was wrong with her! We're both fine, well I think we are, there's no sign of any bleeding. I got out of the car and went to her side. 'Sammie' I gently shook her arm. She was unresponsive of my touch or my voice. 'Sammie' I placed my hand on her cheek.

My touch snapped her back into reality.

'Are you okay?' I asked. She didn't respond. Instead she leaned forward and wrapped her arms around my neck. I embraced her back and rubbed her back. 'It's okay' I tried to comfort her as she trembled in my arms. I could hear her sniffle as she tried to hold back her tears. I think she was still in shock of what happened or what COULD have happened. I moved in even closer making sure that I was protecting her from feeling vulnerable.

We stayed embraced for a while.

Samantha's POV:
It was time to let go.

I pulled away from Harry, knowing that I was okay now. I wiped my teary eyes to hide them from him.'Look, I'm sorry I dragged you into this' he began to talk and I kept my head bow down. 'I just wanted us to talk' he said. 'We haven't talked about what happened to us...or what's happening to us now' he continued. 'I try to talk to you but you just keep shutting me down' he said. 'How are we supposed to work things out?' he continued to talk to himself as I wasn't giving him any respond.

'Can you talk to me?' he asked.

I didn't respond.

'Please say something, anything' he begged.


'You wanna punch me? Then punch me' he grabbed my hand and slammed it into his chest.

You wanna yell, yell at me. You wanna curse at me, then do it' he shouted.

'Just please say something!' he took my hands and pleaded.

'It kills me that I don't know what's running through your mind' he expressed. I removed my gaze from our intertwined hands.

'Okay fine' he pulled his hands away. I looked up and saw him walking towards the middle of the road.

'What are you doing?' I called out.

'I think I wouldn't have minded dying before, at least we would have been together' he replied. I followed his eyes as he looked to the right. My eyes dilated as I realised the situation he was trying to get himself into. The thought of death kicked in back again, as a car was approaching from the distance.

'Ohmygosh' I mumbled. 'Harry' I muttered quietly. 'HARRRY!' I yelled but he didn't move out of the road.

'What are you doing!? I don't want you to die alright!' I shouted as a tear fell out of my eye.

'But you don't wanna talk either, so what's the point of living if the only person I want to talk to doesn't wanna talk to me' he shouted back.

BEEP ! BEEP !


I turned to my right and saw that the car was approximately 500 metres away. 'Can you just come here' I pointed to where I was.

BEEP ! BEEP !

'Do you promise to talk to me?' he called out.

BEEP ! BEEP! The car was less than 200 metres away.

'Harry!' I yelled.

BEEP! BEEP! I turned to see the car was now less than 100 metres away. I turned my attention back to Harry who was still standing by the road.

'Promise?' he asked

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
