Hanging By A Moment

Harry's POV:
'Yeah, yeah, I'm coming. I just got up talking to someone' I told Zayn on the phone. Him and the other lads where already at the carpark. 'See you soon' I hanged up.

DING! The elevator arrived on the next floor. It wasn't were I was destined for so I leaned back on the wall and waited.

When the doors opened, it revealed a solitary figure dressed beautifully in a navy blue gown. This is the closes I've gotten to see her all night and I notice how her dress really showed off her curves.

Immediately I leaned off the wall and locked eyes with her. I was left speechless, not just by her beauty but by the situation we found ourselves in. She held on to her dress as she entered the elevator. She pressed her designated floor number and moved back to stand on the other corner. The doors closed and confined us together.

Okay, Harry, your going to talk this time. Your gonna stay calm and have a casual conversation, like what normal people do, I thought to myself. I'm not going to choke like last time, I'm not gonna choke, I took a deep breath.

'Happy birthday Sammie' I turned around to greeted her.

'Thanks' she turned to face me with a smile. I stared at her for a while, making sure I captured every second of this journey; that contagious smile she wore that made me smile like an idiot, the sparkles in her eyes that hypnotised me and the way she made my heart beat a little faster.

The way I use to always feel when I was with her.

She quickly looked away when she realised we've been staring at each other for a while now. We both cleared our throat and fidgeted with our clothes as if trying to remove the awkwardness. Then she spoke again.

'You did great up there, you know despite the technical difficulty' she turned back to face me. If only she knew, that I was trying to serenade her through that song. That I WAS so stupid for letting her go and that I TRIED to start again and find somebody, but she's STILL the one. 'Oh thanks' I replied with a smile. 'Are you headed to the after party?' I asked. 'Actually no' she replied. 'Oh' I uttered in disappointment. 'Taleiah's not feeling well so I really need to get home' she explained.

'I hope she gets better' I flashed her a comforting smile. 'Thanks' she gave a small nod. The elevator came to a halt to drop her at her stop.

The feeling of loneliness was about to settle again as she departs momentarily.

Samantha's POV:
Please don't let the elevators break down...please...please...please, I pleaded as I waited for the doors to open, to let me out.

DING! I uttered a quiet sigh in relief.

I held my dress up and started to proceed out the elevator. 'Take care' I heard Harry say. I stoped where I was and turned around to him. 'You too' I flash him one last smile before finally leaving the elevator. A gust of wind rushed pass me creating goose bumps to appear on my arms. Suddenly I felt cold, unlike moments again inside the warm elevator.

DING! I heard the elevator.

I turned around and the doors were now closed.
