Hanging By A Moment

Samantha's POV:
'So let me get this straight. People bid for the girl who they want to take out on a date and the highest bidder gets a the girl for the night?' Harry asked about the event as we stood backstage. 'Ahah' I nodded. He didn't seem to please with the idea of being auctioned for a date. 'Babe, you don't have to place a bid on me' I placed my hands on his waist. 'This is just a 4 hour date, I'll be back with you by midnight' I assured him.'Okay sure' he smiled.The idea of going on a date with another boy seemed really awkward for someone like me who was already engaged, but there were other girls in the event who also had boyfriends. Plus, it was for a good cause, we were raising money for the children's foundation. 'Well, I'll be out there with the lads and girls' Harry said. 'Okay' I smiled at him and we hugged before he took off.

'My oh my, if it isn't Samantha Julia Robertson' I turned around to look who was talking to me. 'Nina!' I exclaimed. 'I've missed you' I hugged her and swayed her from side to side. 'Wow, you look great' she scanned her eyes up and down my body. Even thought my period ended this morning I wore a black dress just to make sure in case of a stain emergency. 'So are any of the other 1D boys single?' she smirked at me. 'Why are you tired from running around with your wolves and vampires?' I chuckled. 'Oh Shut up' she slapped my arm. 'Just promise me you'll make me a Godparent of your children, please!' she pleaded with her hands in a praying position. 'I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon. Harry doesn't want children for like another 10 years' I disappointed her. 'I'm not getting my hopes down' she smirked.

'Hey girls' two voices called out from behind. 'Hey Leigh, Hey Blake' I hugged the girls. 'You think gossip girl knows we're here?' Nina and I laughed at the joke. 'It's like saying do you think 'A' knows I'm here' Ashley approached us. 'That bitch is probably here to sabotage my date' she hissed and we laughed at her sarcasm. Harry's POV:
'Niall, what's will all the cash?' I asked him as we stood around the runway waiting for the show to begin. 'His bidding tonight' Louis raised his eye brows. 'Oh really who?' I asked eager to know. 'Nina Dobrev' the boys, El and Dani chorused and I laughed. 'Don't worry man, were gonna make this happen for you' Liam patted his shoulder. 'Harry, are you bidding for Sammie?' Zayn asked. 'Actually, I'm not' I replied. 'What, who you bidding for then?' Niall asked. 'No -one. I'm gonna let Sammie go on this 4 hour date' I told them. 'Nawww' El and Dani said in unison. 'Well I think Sammie deserves a separation from you even for a couple of hours' El uttered.

'Welcome everyone and welcome to the Starlight's date auction evening' a lady stood at the side of the stage. The crowd clapped and cheered. 'Tonight we have five lovely ladies who will be helping us raise money for the children's foundation, by going on a date with the highest bidder. Each bid starts at $50 and we accept cash ONLY. We are trying to raise 10,000 dollars so I hope you all give generously' the lady announced. 'Let the night begin' the auctioneer commenced the auction. Everyone clapped and cheered again. Music started to play and the lights on the runway lit up ready for the first girl to strut down.

'First up, we have the lovely Ashley Benson' the auctioneer motioned her hands towards the curtains and Ashley came out. 'Do I hear 50' the lady asked. '50 dollars' someone replied. '600' a boy called out. Zayn and I exchanged glances. So this is how this works, I've never been to one of these but the atmosphere was full of excitement and tension at the same time. People were competing as if their life depended on this date. '1,600 going once twice and sold' the auctioneer slammed her hammer down and everyone clapped.

'Please welcome our next girl, Blake Lively' the auctioneer announced. The tall blonde girl danced her way down the runway. '50 dollars' a boy called out. '$425'another called out. 'Wow this is fun' Louis chuckled. 'Niall, are you sure your ready for this man?' Zayn asked him. 'Yup!' Niall jumped up and down the spot as if it was a 50m sprint he was competing for. '1,375 and sold' the auctioneer slammed the hammer and the girl blew a kiss and walked off stage.

'Next up we have the Bulgarian beauty Ms. Nina Dobrevvvv' the auctioneer emphasised her surname.'Who wants to take her on a date?' the lady asked. '50 dollars' someone on my left threw his hand up. '550' we turned our heads to the right to see who bided. '1000' our heads flew to the left as we heard a bid. '1050' immediately our heads turned to the right as different boy placed a bid. It was like watching a game of table tennis, looking left to right. We were the audience following who had the upper hand on the girls. 'Niall!' El and Dani shook him from his frozen position. 'Place a bid man' Liam uttered. 'Oh yeah, right' he seemed tense, probably from all the people trying to bid for Nina. '1200' another boy called out. '1,800 dollars and 40 cents Niall bided all his money. I shook my head amused that Niall even bided his coins.

'1,900 and 40 cents' another bidder yelled. 'Damn!' Louis uttered. 'Here Niall take my 200' Liam handed him money. '2,000 dollars and 40 cents' Niall called out wit his Irish accent. 'WOW! 2000 dollars!' the auctioneer's eyes widened at Niall's bid. '$2,000 and 45 cents' the competitor bid an extra 5 cent on top of Niall's bid. 'Damnit!' Niall groaned. 'Oh wait' Niall began to searched his pockets. '2,000.45 going once..twice' the auctioneer slowly said.

'2,000 dollars and..... 90 cents' Niall held up a silver coin to top up the bid. 'Sold!' the hammer went down. We all jumped on Niall when he won the bid. 'Thank you John F.Kennedy' Niall kissed the coin.

'Don't worry lads, we still have two ladies up for grab. Next we have Upper East Side's IT girl, Ms. Leighton Meester'. The song 'I'm too sexy' started playing as the girl strutted down the runaway swinging her hips side to side. 'Fifty' someone raised their hand. '800' another bidder competed. 'Niall, you can breath now, you've won your girl' I placed a hand on Niall's shoulder as he still seemed in shock. '1200 ' the auction continued. Eventually she was bought for 1550 dollars.

'Of course we've save the best for the last' the auctioneer smirked. 'Please give it up, for Los Angeles' Princess ....Ms.Samantha Robertson' the lady yelled. The crowd clapped and cheered even louder than they have all night.





Sammie was definitely the favourite.
