Lala Land *BEING REDONE*
Camping - Part 1
The car ride to the campsite was more fun than I expected. Zayn volunteered to drive and Liam called shotgun so he can give Zayn directions. In the middle row was Harry, Taylor and Holly. Holly still looked frustrated as she had her arms crossed and pouted out the window. That leaves the back row, or as I called it, "The Mullet Row" cause the party was in the back...row. It made Niall and Louis laugh, that's all that matters.
I felt Louis tug on my sleeve before he whispered in my ear, "She really doesn't like us?" His eyes looked towards the back of Holly's head..
"I'd rather not say." I preferred not to cause drama with her or make the boys feel terrified for having to bring her along.
"Well I'm glad I made the stupid mistake of pulling your name out with her's," Niall whispered into my other ear, obviously overhearing our conversation. Did Holly hear it too?
Niall, Louis and I decided to play a game of "Who Can Bug Harry the Most?" Boy, was that a fun game. I was the first to go, tugging at one of Harry's curls and watching it bounce back into it's original form. The boys and I quickly looked around, acting as if nothing happened. Harry snapped his head around, trying to figure out who did it. Poor Louis was sitting right behind Harry, so Harry had assumed it was him. As revenge, he stood on his knees in his seat, turned to Louis with a smirk on his face, and punched Louis in the stomach. My eyes popped out and I worriedly looked at Niall who was just laughing, which told me things like this happen all the time. Louis whined while holding his stomach and laid his head on my shoulder. I gave the curly-haired boy a fake angered expression while I pat Louis on the head. Harry huffed and turned back around in his seat. Niall, Louis and I all chuckled before high-fiving each other. The hair pulling seemed to continue until Harry became a fun-sucker and started ignoring us.
The pranks began again once I pulled my water bottle out of my bag, to drink. Niall looked at my bottle and pointed at Harry with a giddy expression. I nodded my head in agreement at him before removing the cap off the bottle. I slowly took my bottle and raised it over Harry's head. I noticed Taylor glance up at it, but she ignored it so Harry wouldn't get suspicious. I began to tip the bottle over his head, releasing big drops of water.
"What the hell!??!" Harry shouted as he snapped his head around, causing the water on his head to splash across mine and Louis's faces. All of us laughed, including Holly. I never thought I'd see her smile again. I watched as Taylor put her hands in Harry's wet hair and shook his hair, all while giggling.
"There was something in your hair, I was just washing it out," I shrugged.
"Well there's something on your face!" he growled as he snatched the water bottle out of my hand and splashed my face with the cold water.
I let out a squeal before laughing and wiping the water off my face. "It's called makeup. You should try it some time, you could really use some to cover up that thing you call a face." I didn't really mean that. Everything about him and his face is perfect. I just love pushing his buttons, I don't know why I find it so fun.
"Why you little..." his voice trailed off as he attacked me. His long arms could reach me from his seat, as he tickled my sides. Laughs escaped from my lips as I yelled for help.
Niall quickly wrapped his arms around me and hissed at Harry. The green eyed boy finally gave up with a chuckle and plopped back into his seat. The pranks finally died down afterwards.
The campsite was beautiful. Nothing but dirt and pine trees, I loved the smell of the pine. It took us a while to find an open area to set up our tents at. We finally found a circular open area, completely surrounded by trees. As we set the tents up, Holly just stood there like the bitch she is while we all set up the camp. I mean come on, even Taylor got on her hands and knees to help out. I swear Holly thinks she can control everyone.
The boys brought an ice chest filled with sodas, waters and milk (for the morning). Taylor brought the tents for all of us and a cooler filled with sandwiches, s'mores, fruit and little boxes of cereal. Louis brought fishing poles because he thought it'd be "manly" if he could catch a fish for us. Liam brought a lighter to start a fire on the pile of wood Niall and Zayn had found around the campsite. Harry brought extra pillows and blankets, just in case we needed them. I managed to sneak away at some point and change out of my kitty socks and into my plain white socks, this makes me happy.
Finally, we finished setting up and all sat around the campfire. We were drinking our sodas and waters, while eating our sandwiches and fruit. Our silence wasn't even a bit awkward, each of us taking in the fresh air and feeling the warmth of the fire. Well, all of us but Holly who stared blankly at the fire, she seemed bored.
"Let's sing a campfire song," Louis raised his eyebrows.
Without hesitation, I swayed my body, both hands gripping at my sandwich, and sung with a smile, "Lets gather around the campfire and sing our campfire song. Our C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G song."
I watched as Niall's face lit up and the other boys laughed.
Harry threw a grape at me before singing along, "And if you don't think that we can sing it faster then you're wrong. But it'll help if you just sing along. Louis!"
"Bom, bom, bom," Louis sung in a deep voice. Laughter filled the campsite and echoed in the trees.
"Not the song I think they had in mind but that was a good one," Taylor laughed while wiping a tear from her eye. I patted myself on the back, proud of myself, which Harry noticed and chuckled. I turned to see Holly staring blankly at the fire still.
"Come on Holly, lead us in another song," I surprised myself by giving her a genuine smile.
"How about we play a game of truth or dare?" Holly looked up from the fire with an evil look in her eyes. Oh no, she's out to get blood.
"I'd rather not," I tried avoiding all eye contact by staring at the ground, nibbling at my sandwich.
"Why not? Are you scared?" Holly sort of yelled at me like I didn't have a choice.
"Fine, I'll play," I groaned, still looking at the ground.
"Truth or dare, Lexington?" Holly had a smug look across her face. Either way I'm screwed.
"T-t-truth," I stuttered. I received a few puzzled glances from the group but I ignored them, preparing myself for what's about to come. I figured if I said dare, she'd make me kiss Harry, but I'm not sure if that's any worse than the truth she chose for me.
"Do you or do you not fantasize about Harry Styles?" That Bitch. Before I could even reply I heard stifled laughter. I turned to see the source was Harry, who horribly hid his smile behind his fist. I looked at Zayn, who seemed confused, then Liam who was giving me an apologetic look. I looked at Taylor who slapped Harry's chest for his rudeness. When she looked back up, her eyes locked with mine, actually giving me a look of sorrow. I didn't even want to look at Niall or Louis. I felt tears forming in my eyes before I looked back at Holly. She mocked my tears by fake-pouting and trailing her finger from her eye, down her cheek. I quickly hid my face before I ran.
I ran as far as I could, ignoring Niall's calls for me. I ran and ran until I found a dock. I sat down on the edge of the dock, uncontrollably sobbing. How could Harry react like that? Why did his reaction have such a bad affect on me? Why should I care if he knows? This is the only time he'll ever see me, why should I care?
I sat on the dock for what felt like hours. It was probably only for a good fifteen minutes. My tears and sobs have stopped as I stared blankly at the water below me.
I sudden hand on my shoulders caused me to jump a bit. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." I turned my head so my eyes could meet his.
"It's fine," I shrugged and looked back at the water.
Harry sat down beside me, "I wasn't laughing at you, you know?"
"Hmm," I didn't even bother looking at him.
"I laughed because after the way you've been treating me all day, I found it hard to believe you fatasize about me," he put his hands beside him and rocked his legs over the edge of the pier. The dock was high enough above the water that even with Harry's long legs, his feet didn't even reach the water.
I realized that this was almost like my dream. Here we were sitting on a dock over the water. Of course there were it's differences. The sand was actually smelly dirt, our view was only the silhouette of a mountain that was darkened by the starry sky, I had dry tears on my cheeks, and the dock was so choppy, it gave you splinters just looking at it. I snapped out of my thoughts and figured if this was reality, then he wouldn't have really wanted to come over here.
"Did they send you here?" I looked at him for a quick second, being sure to show no emotion. His silence gave me my answer.
I felt his hand gently hold my chin up so I would look at him. "They may have sent me, but I also wanted to come see if you're alright."
"Well I'm fine, so your dismissed now," I swatted his hand away.
"Alright then," he smiled and stood up. I waited to hear his footsteps from him walking away but instead, I felt his hands press up against my back. Before I knew it, I was in the water. This is so not how I imagined this moment.
"HARRY! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" I snapped when I reached the surface. I pulled my wet beanie off of my head and threw it at him.
He flinched and dodged the beanie, all while still managing to smile. "I told you I'd push you in."
"Come here Styles," my finger gestured him to come closer.
"No, I'm not falling for that one," Harry shook his head and crossed his arms.
"You're supposed to please us for 24 hours, aren't you?" I took my boots off my feet and threw them onto the dock.
Harry groaned and rolled his eyes. To my surprise, he pulled his shirt over his head and took off his vans. His tan skin and muscles glistened from the water's reflection. His tattoos seemed a bit odd to me but they've got to have some stories behind them, don't they? The beautiful boy stood before me and flashed me a smile, showing off his adorable dimples yet again.
"Enjoying the view?" Harry smiled. "I guess you do fantasize about me." He gave me a wink, causing me to blush. Then he cannon-balled into the water, creating a wave of water that went over my head, which I breathed in and choked on.
Harry quickly swam over and gently patted my back, "You okay there, Lex?" My heart skipped a beat at the sound of my name. No one ever really called me Lex anyways, considering they find my full name really pretty. "You know you're a human, not a fish. You can't breathe in water."
I tried my best to glare at him while I coughed my organs out. Way to ruin the moment Harry. When I finally got the water out of my lungs, I realized I had my hands resting on Harry's shoulders.
"You have really pretty eyes," his green orbs looked into mine. "They're almost like a peanut butter color."
"It's dark outside, so you're obviously blind right now. They're a caramel color," I rolled my eyes.
"Peanut butter."
"Caramel."
"Peanut butter."
This argument went on for a few minutes. I mostly argued with him just so I could hear him say peanut butter again. I loved the way his accent said butter as "but-tuh."
The water began getting colder, sending a shiver down my spine. "Let's get you out of the water," I couldn't see Harry's face anymore, it was so dark, but I could feel him flashing me a smile.
"Okay," I nodded my head.
He got closer to the dock and put his hands on my waist, "Jump on three. One...two...three!"
BANG! "Ouch!" I yelled falling back into Harry's arms.
"I'm so sorry, are you okay?" Harry asked rubbing the spot on my head that hit the dock.
"I'm fine, that was my fault. I put my head down when I jumped, rather than looking up."
His chuckle vibrated his chest, "Let's try this again, keep your face facing the dock this time."
"Yes Sir," I saluted.
"One...two...three!"
I grabbed hold of the dock and lifted myself up. Then I leaned over the edge of the dock, grabbed Harry's hand, and used all my strength to pull him up. He got his feet on the dock, with me still pulling him up. I wound up losing my balance and falling backwards, bringing him down with me.
The beautiful boy was towered over me and I couldn't even see his face. Just my luck.
I felt his hot breathe on my forehead as he laughed. "You're a clumsy one, aren't you?"
"Unfortunately," I giggled.
I felt his minty breath slowly make it's way down my face as he inched closer to me. Was he about to kiss me? I let out a shaky breath I didn't even know I was holding in. His hands intertwined with mine. What is happening?
I felt Harry's head whip to the side. What is he looking at? I turned my head to face a bright light that blinded me. Once my eyes adjusted, I saw a figure wearing silky peach pajamas and holding two lanterns. She cleared her throat loudly, which was Harry's cue to stand up, leaving me still on the ground.
"Will you excuse us, Lexington?" Taylor glared at Harry.
"Uh, y-yeah." I slowly got up and began walking away.
"Here's a lantern, I don't want you to get lost," she smiled authentically as she handed me the lantern. Why was she being so nice to me? I took the lantern from her, trying not to act so confused.
As I walked away I could hear them yelling at each other. The only thing I could make out was when Taylor questioned, "Why must you ruin everything?" She's furious, I just know it. Who could blame her? Her boyfriend was half naked and about to kiss another girl.
When I got back to the camp, everyone had gone off to bed. Louis and Niall shared one tent, Zayn and Liam shared another, Taylor and Harry another, and Holly and I have our own tents. Taylor thought it would be the polite thing to do by letting us comfortably sleep in our own tents.
I climbed into my tent and slowly removed the wet clothes from my body. I replaced the wet clothes with my cream shirt and pink yoga pants that Gail picked out for me. I groaned at my wet socks knowing the kitty ones will have to go back on; another thing my luck has brought me.
I laid myself inside my magenta sleeping bag and rested my sore head onto my pillow. Yet I couldn't fall asleep. So many things were on my mind, so many emotions flooded through me.
I feel bad for Taylor, she's been nothing but nice to me and I just had to cause problems for her and Harry. I'm so confused though. She didn't appear to be phased by me one bit, only angry towards Harry. I really don't get it. I'm also mad at myself for almost letting him kiss me, this isn't who I am. I'm not one to help cheat or cheat on someone myself. Is it wrong that I also feel giddy because the guy of my dreams was inches away from kissing me? But much like my day dreams, the kiss just had to be interrupted.
"Psst," I heard a voice outside my tent. Why can't I ever be left alone to think?
