The Real World

."Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, we are officially in California!" Harry screamed childishly as the bus passed the border. Zayn and Liam clapped.

"Let's celebrate!" I cheered "Do we have any ice cream left?"

"And that's Niall for you," Louis laughed.

Paul chuckled from in the front of the bus, shaking his head and keeping his eyes on the road. I got up from my seat and headed to the kitchen area of the bus. I opened the door and peeked into the freezer to find nothing but the ice box. "WHO ATE MY ICE CREAM?" I hollered.

"Guilty." Zayn raised his hand and laughed.

"You suck," I said jokingly, throwing my now not needed spoon at him.

I sat back down in my seat next to the window watching the fields of tall yellow and green grass pass by. Until the border we hadn't seen any sign of civilization for a long time. But, nonetheless I've had a great time in the U.S and I'm not sure if I'm ready for this tour to be over. "Hey Niall, I found some chocolate ice cream under the ice!" Louis tossed the container to me.

It hit me in the head and hit the rug on the floor. I rubbed my head and picked up the spoon I had thrown at Zayn off his chest. I dug into the ice cream and listened to the boys talk.
"Well if you’re a prostitute not only do you get paid, but you’re doing something fun!" Harry argued.

"Maybe, but think of how ashamed a girl might be!" Liam chimed in.

"Do we have to have this conversation?" Louis rubbed his forehead and laughed lightly.

"Fine then...let's talk about Strippers!" Harry suggested making Zayn chuckle.

"Nooooo!" I screamed with a mouth full of food.

"Oh, young, young, Niall.." Zayn kidded.

"Shut up." I smirked.

"Wow, now we're actually in the middle of nowhere like in the movies!" Liam peeked out the window and rubbed his stubble "An actual dirt road."

"You've never seen a dirt road?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Of course I have."

"Then why is this one so special?" Zayn asked.

"Well boys," Liam announced "This road will lead us to the last destination of our tour!"

"woah, woah, woah!" I heard Paul panic from the front of the bus. He jerked the wheel giving me a glimpse of some sort of animal in the road. Then everything was in slow motion.

The bus spun across the road, making dirt fly up and create a thick fog. I felt myself jerk out of the seat and collide with the window. Thank god it's plexi glass. Unfortunately, the wind shield is not. The sound of shattering glass was all I could hear now, no more of the boys screams, I was in my own world. I was nothing, I was nowhere. Everything was black.

"Niall?" I opened my eyes to see a pink sky "Niall? Are you a'right? Harry shook me.

"I'm Fine." I stood up to see Louis and Liam entering our tour bus through a broken window. It was side ways in a patch of tall green grass. I turned around and saw Paul, Zayn, and Dean, the other body guard with us."Well you hit the window pretty hard. Gotta lump the size of an egg.Hopefully no concussion. Paul got cut pretty deep, but he'll be okay."

I nodded to Harry and turned to Paul "What're we going to do?"

"We've decided that I'm going to try and make it back to the small town at the border for help, Dean will stay here with you lads." Paul explained.

"Why the border? Isn't there anything closer? We are miles away from that now, aren't we?" I stuttered.

"Probably," Paul shook his head "But, out other choice is a little village called Finnley. I suppose it's farther away then the border."

"Why don't we use our cell phones?" I argued. Why should Paul have to walk for hours in the middle of nowhere?

"Tried that," Dean grunted "No bars out here."

"What about the radio in the bus?" I asked.

"The impact of the crash broke it." Zayn muttered.

"I think I’ll be on my way.” Paul coughed “The last thing I want is to get caught in the wilderness of California at night!” He turned around and jogged down the dirt road.
“Are you sure about this Paul?” Zayn called after him.

“Yeah!” He screamed back as he disappeared along the horizon. “You guys stay at the bus!”

Louis and Liam emerged from the inside of the bus. Louis walked up to Dean, a bloody stick in hand, and announced “We hit a deer, a buck actually.”

“Poor deer.” Harry said plopping onto the ground.

“I’m gunna look around in the bus.” Dean nodded to us.

“You okay Niall? You were out for a bit.” Liam said.

“Yeah, fine.” I mumbled looking at the broken down bus.

Harry watched Dean until he had fully stepped into the bus then motioned for us to gather around him. “You guys, after the crash I started thinking. How much freedom do we really have?” he looked around at us “We’re famous! We don’t always get to do things normal people can.”

“So?” I shrugged “It’s all worth it.”

“Yeah, our fans are amazing and we experience great things, but I want to feel normal!” Harry continued.

“Where’s this leading exactly?”Liam asked.

“You guys remember Finnley, the little town Paul mentioned?” Harry looked at us all.

“Yeah” we chorused.

“Well, I say we all take off…I mean we’ll come back or they’ll find us eventually.” Harry smiled “We could go on an adventure! In Finnely!”

“Are you mad?” Liam exclaimed.

“Shhhh!” Harry said “Don’t let Dean hear!”

“I don’t know it sounds kinda….” Louis started.

“fun!” I smiled at Harry.

“Yeah, “ Zayn nodded.

“Let’s do it.” Louis agreed.

“So it’s settled.” Harry gave a sideways smile. “Tonight we put on our disguises and head out on the adventure we never had!”

Liam still looked uneasy but we all laughed and talked in harsh whispers as Dean approached. The sky turned a brilliant deep purple. Dean had each of us settle in the sideways seats of the bus, avoiding glass. I however, sat underneath the stars dreamily thinking of how exciting our adventure might be
