Keep Me Safe

Emma’s POV
I pretended to not be paying attention to what was going on between Victoria and Harry but, I would glance over every once in a while to see how things were going. Harry and Victoria walked over to the rest of us hand in hand. I looked up from Zayn and Liam who were twisted in very uncomfortable positions at this point. A huge smile spread across my face and I quickly looked to Harry. He gave me a quick wink confirming what I was thinking then, I looked to Victoria. She had a huge smile on her face. See, I knew no matter how much she denied it to me or herself she has feelings for him. “I told you!” I said pulling them both into a hug and they laughed. “I know you did.” She said. Their hands pulled apart to hug me but as soon as I pulled out of the hug they put them back together like they were magnets. “Well what’s going on here?” Louis asked walking up to the new couple; with a cheeky smile on his face. Niall walked over to me and wrapped his arms around my waste and rested his head on my shoulder. I turned my head to him and kissed him on the cheek before looking back to Victoria and Harry. Liam and Zayn realized what was going on and they left the game to hear what they were going to say. Harry smiled and said, “Victoria and I are together now.” She smiled looking up at him then back to the boys. He let go of her hand and put his arm around her waist pulling her closer to him. She hesitated at first but relaxed and wrapped her arms around his torso. She isn’t used to real affection she’s so used to just being hurt. I love seeing her finally being treated right. “Congrats mate!” Louis and everyone else clapped and cheered. I’m so happy for them! For the first time I know what it’s like to have someone care about you so much that you don’t even feel like you deserve it and, now I hope that’s how it’s going to be for her. Victoria pulled away from Harry and walked over to Niall and I, “Hey Em, can I talk to you for a second?” She said with a smile. “Sure.” I said smiling back at her. I look up at Niall whose arms are still around my waste, “I’ll be right back.” I say to him. He gives me a fake pouty face and lets me go. Victoria and I go up to her room and shut the door. “What’s up?” I asked her. “I don’t know. I’m so confused. I’m so happy that I’m with him but, I’m terrified of getting hurt again. I mean I know it wasn’t as bad as you and Mike but still I jus-“ I cut her off, “Hey, heyits ok to be scared of that trust me I was too. And don’t ever think that what happened to you wasn’t bad just because it wasn’t like mine, you were hurt bottom line and, no one deserves that.” I say looking into her eyes and putting my hand on her shoulder. “Ok” she said with a weak smile but I could tell she was still thinking about it. “Look, I can’t promise you that everything will work out and be ok but, what I do know is you should just let yourself enjoy what you have now. We’ve both been through a lot and we finally have something that so far seems like it won’t turn out the same. Who really knows? So let’s just enjoy it and find out.” I say while both of us are tearing up but we refuse to let them fall. “You’re right Em; I should just live in the moment. This could be good for me.” She said with a smile. I pulled her into a hug and said, “You ready to go back down?” “Yeah lets go.” She said. We walked down the stairs and saw the boys are kind of just doing their own things and Niall and Harry were talking. That is until they heard us. They just turned and looked at us smiling. Something’s up. We walk up to them “What’s going on?” I asked. They then looked at each other at the same time and nodded once before looking back at us. Ok they are starting to creep me out now. What are they up to? Next thing I know Niall rushes toward me and Harry does the same to Victoria. My eyes widen before I feel myself get lifted off the ground and thrown over his shoulder. I scream a little because I was not expecting that. I hear Victoria do the same so I guess Harry must be doing this too. Niall starts running around the house with me over his shoulder and I’m holding onto his back for dear life while he’s holding my legs. I am laughing hysterically at this point so much that my sides hurt and I’m literally crying. Not out of pain of course. I can hear Vitoria laughing too. I wonder if that’s what they were talking about earlier. Did they plan this? “Niall. Put. Me. Down!” I said between laughs. “Ok babe if you say so.” He said. I can feel myself being flipped back over but, instead of landing on the ground I land on his lap sitting us down on the couch. He touched my butt in the process and I jumped a little and squealed. I looked at him and slapped him playfully on the shoulder. He was laughing very hard at my reaction and tried to say, “OW what was that for?” but it came out weird which made him laugh even harder. I’ll never get tired of his laugh. It’s absolutely adorable. I couldn’t help but laugh too. “What the heck was that?” Victoria asked laughing. I looked over and saw that Victoria was on Harry’s lap like me and Niall. “Yeah were you guys like planning that while we were upstairs or something?” I asked “Maybe.” They both said at the same time. I looked at the clock, it’s getting late. Liam walked up to us followed by the others. “Hey it’s getting late and we have the VMA’s tomorrow so we’re gonna get going. It was great seeing you guys tonight. We had fun.” Liam said with a smile as he hugged me and Victoria. “Alright, bye guys see you soon.” I said getting up from Niall and hugging each of them. “Harry you coming mate?” Zayn asked Victoria looked at Harry and gave him a look like please stay. I know that look very well she gives it to me all the time. “No I’ll catch up with you guys tomorrow. I think I’m gonna stay here tonight.” He said “Ok see ya mate.” Zayn said before opening the door and walking out, the others followed close behind and shut the door. I sat back down on Niall’s lap and rested my head on his shoulder. We stayed like this for a while before going up to bed. We said goodnight to Harry and Victoria and went up to our room. I did my bed time routine and got into bed. It wasn’t long before I felt the familiar arms wrap around me. “Goodnight babe I love you.” He said into my hair. “Night, I love you too.” I said back to him. I want to stay like this forever but I know it’s going to come to an end soon. They are going to be back on tour this weekend and I’m not ready to say goodbye.

Hey lovelies, sorry that I haven't posted in so long but my exams are finally over and I can get back into the swing of things again.
