Keep Me Safe

Emma’s POV
When Niall and I woke up the first thing we wanted to do was announce to everyone that we are dating. We just want to get it out of the way. I am so scared about what will happen. The hate from the original picture had died down quite a bit but, there was still a ton of hate. I think telling everyone will just flare it all up again but I know it needs to be done. Just remember what Louis said none of the hate they say is true. Besides El, Perrie, and Sophia can handle so why wouldn’t I be able to. I can ask Sophia especially for help considering she and Liam are a pretty new couple and people aren’t exactly thrilled about it. “You ready?” Niall asked me snapping me out of my thoughts. I was probably completely zoned out like an idiot, oh well. I looked up at Niall and sighed. “Yeah let’s get it over with.” I said not sounding enthusiastic at all. Niall gave me a questioning look. I gave him a small smile telling him I was fine and I’m not backing out. Niall smiled a half smile back at me clearly rethinking if this is the right choice. Then, he sighed and kissed me on the top of my head before pulling out his phone and opening his Twitter app. He began to tweet and I looked away from it not wanting to see what he was saying it would only make me more nervous. I just laid my head down on his shoulder and waited. When Niall was done he moved so that he was facing me more. I was forced to pick my head up and look at him. I didn’t want to look at him though because I’m scared that he will see the fear in my eyes. “I want you to read this before I post it.” He said handing me the phone. I took a deep breath and gathered my thoughts together before reading it. Niall placed his hand on my thigh rubbing small circles with his thumb. “I want to clear the rumors up for you guys. Yes @Emma_Page is my girlfriend and I couldn’t be happier. She makes me smile every second that I am with her. When she is hurt so am I and when that picture was taken and she was getting a ton of hate we weren’t even dating yet. So please don’t jump to conclusions until I let you know. I love you guys and you mean the world to me don’t forget that.” The tweet was too big for it to fit into one tweet so Niall was going to just use a link so everyone could read the whole thing. “It sounds good, I like it.” I said with a smile but, worry was still emanating on my voice. Niall acted as if he didn’t notice for my sake but I’m sure he could tell. I handed him back his phone and he reread it to himself before saying, “Ok you do the honors.” Niall said turning his phone so it was facing me. I nodded at him then, lifted my hand to press the blue tweet button. My hand was shaking slightly but I think it was only enough for me to tell.My finger hit the button. Words at the top of Niall’s phone appeared saying tweet sent! My heart started beating faster and must have looked terrified because Niall quickly dropped his phone and held on to my hands looking straight into my eyes “Everything’s going to be fine.” He said before pulling me into a hug I just laid my head into his chest clearing my mind of everything around me.
