Keep Me Safe

Victoria’s POV
I know exactly what Emma is thinking right now and it couldn’t be farther from the truth. I am not interested in a boyfriend at the moment and certainly not one that I can’t just go out and have fun with without the entire world knowing. I’m not ready for a boyfriend anyway. I’m tired of getting my heart broken. I only want to get in the shower and clean up a bit because I at least want to look presentable. One Direction is kind of a big deal after all and I don’t really want to look like a slob. I looked around my house and realized I really don’t need to clean anything up. My house is practically spotless I guess I kind of just pick things up as I go and don’t even realize it. I just shrugged my shoulders and hopped into the shower. I know I don’t have much time, so I hardly have any time to actually enjoy the warm water on my skin. I quickly washed my hair and body and turned off the water. I hate getting out of the shower only to be met by cold air that freezes you half to death. I dried myself off and put and some comfortable jeans and a pink sweater/shirt combination. I turned on my hair drier and made sure to dry every inch of my hair. I brushed it out but I didn’t style it there was no point in that. I quickly put on a tiny bit of makeup and brushed my teeth. Why not? Having clean teeth never hurt anyone. I looked at my reflection in the mirror. I was happy with the way I looked it totally casual but I didn’t look like a bum so that’s good. I walked down stairs and turned on the TV to wait for them to get here. Just as I was about to sit down I heard a knock at the door. They could have just walked in. I’m actually surprised Emma didn’t. I suddenly felt nervous. I have absolutely no idea why though. I pushed everything to the back of my mind and walked over and opened the door. I smiled at everyone, “Come on in.” I said coolly even though a bit of nervousness still lingered inside of me. I glanced around outside quickly. It didn’t seem like any paps followed them here but, the again that’s what we thought. Emma walked in first followed by Niall. Then the rest came in introducing themselves one by one greeting me with a hug. The last one to great me was Harry. So this is the one Emma was talking about. “Hi I’m Harry” the curly haired boy said greeting me with a hug like everyone else. “Hi I’m Victoria.” I said with a smile. I have to admit he was pretty cute but so were the others so far nothing is really jumping out at me about him. Emma was wrong no sparks here. I was relieved knowing that I didn’t feel anything I also was a little disappointed though I’m not sure why. At that moment all of my nervousness disappeared. I guess that’s what I was worried about. We all went and sat down on the couches in the living room Emma and Niall sat next to each other and I sat next to her. The others sat on the couch opposite of us. They sat in a line starting with Louis then Zayn, Liam, and ending with Harry.It worked out so that Harry was sitting right across from me. Emma nudged me slightly and gave me a wink. I rolled my eyes at her and used every ounce of self-control I had not to slap her. Niall spoke up, “Everyone I would like you to meet Victoria she is Emma’s best friend and she is now one of my friends.” He said pointing at me. “Hi Victoria,” everyone said basically in unison. I smiled and waved at everyone “Hi” I said shyly I’m really not good in situations where everyone is listening to me even though I am a very outgoing person. It’s not that I’m scared or anything, I just don’t really know what to say. Then the boy Liam said something, “We won’t stay to long.” He promised with a smile. “No you guys can stay as long as you want.” I said back to him. He nodded his head saying thank you. “Niall, I think you should tell everyone that you two are together just so you can clear everything up.” Louis said. Niall nodded slowly and looked at Emma who gave him a reassuring look. “And Emma” he said turning his attention to her “I think you should just ignore everyone who says anything negative and just know that none of it is true. Also, make sure that you let the fans that support you know that you appreciate them because it will make more people like you and they will have your back and stand up for you.” Louis said to her. She nodded her head, “Ok, I’ll do that” Emma said with a smile. After we figured all of that out we all just sat and talked. We actually had a good time. It was getting late so the boys left for their hotel. I told them to feel free to come over tomorrow whenever they wanted. I said goodnight to Emma and Niall washed my face got changed and went to bed.
