Keep Me Safe

Emma’s POV
After I got off the phone with Niall Tori slapped my arm not too hard but, enough so it hurt a little. “What the heck was that for?” I asked half laughing. “Why are you being so mean to him? From what I’ve heard from you he’s great! Did something happen you didn’t tell me about?” she asked. I shrugged, “I know I should be nicer but, I care about him way too much and, I didn’t want him to follow me so I didn’t get him into anymore danger with Mike.” I said tearing up a little. She pulled me into a hug, “Hey, it’s ok don’t cry. Look I know it’s hard but it’ll all work out. He obviously cares about you, you’re a lucky girl. I’m sure you’ll change your mind when you see him.” She always knows how to make me feel better and think rationally. “You’re right, thanks Tori.” I said with a smile. I wiped the tears off my face and said, “We should probably get to the airport.” “Ok I’ll drive.” She said. Then, we left her house and locked the door behind us sense she lives by herself. When we were almost at the airport I get a text from Niall. It said, “Emma I am so sorry, I forgot that there would be fans here. The paps will be here soon too. When you get here honk twice and keep you’re faces covered.” My eyes widened and I started panicking. My heart was pounding so loud I’m pretty sure people all the way across the world could hear it. “Crap.” I said “What’s wrong?” she asked confused. “Niall said that there are a ton of fans at the airport and that the paps will be there soon.” I said in a very stressed and freaked out voice. She pulled over for a second because she was now panicking too. “What do we do?” she asked. “He said to honk twice and keep our faces covered.” I said. “Why cover our faces?” she asked. “I don’t know probably to keep us off the press.” I said. She looked at me then nodded her head and started driving again. I texted Niall back, “That’s just great Niall, we are almost there.” I know it wasn’t the nicest text ever but can you blame me? When we pulled up to the spot we were supposed to meet Niall, Victoria honked twice and we kept our faces down. I heard the back door open and then close quickly. “Em I’m so sorry I didn-“ I cut him off, “It’s ok just tell us what to do!”I said freaking out. “Alright, you’re your head down as much as possible and pull out of here, they might follow us but I think we are alright.” He said turning his attention to Victoria. “Ok” she said in a shaky voice and pulled away. “Look I’m sorry I just left you like that I-“ he cut me off this time, “Don’t worry about that right now, we’ll talk later.” He said in a loving voice grabbing my hand from the back seat. He used his thumb to massage the back of my hand. I could see a small smile on Victoria’s face even though she was still freaking out. She kept to herself though so she didn’t ruin the moment. “I love you Em.” Niall said in a quiet voice. My heart skipped a beat at his words. Then, Mike’s words ran through my head. He told me once that I was a fat ass bitch and no one could ever love me, I am worthless. For the longest time I believed him but Niall is different. He was so sincere and I believed him. That’s when I realized I love him too. I turned to look back at him, still keep my head low. “I love you too.” I said back to him. His eyes grew bigger and a smile spread across his face. He leaned in for a kiss and let it happen. I know Victoria is right there and she is probably about to cry but I’m just gonna enjoy this. Nothing can ruin this moment.
