Keep Me Safe

Niall’s POV
I woke up to light kiss on my forehead. I opened my eyes and saw Emma with her hair a mess and her tired eyes. I don’t know why but she almost seemed even more beautiful to me this way. This is all I can think about while driving to our supper secret destination. After, I got all dressed up and saw her in her dress I got even more excited about today’s events. Now that we were almost there I was getting more and more nervous. I’m not sure why maybe it’s because I want it to be perfect. I looked over at her and she was staring out the window. She looked deep in thought. “What are thinking about over there?” I asked. She looked over at me and said, “Nothing, just looking out the window” she said seeming a little sad. I put my hand on her thigh. “What’s wrong Em?” I asked worried. “Nothing I’m fine.” She said with a weak, fake smile. “Tell me later ok?” I said not wanting to push her too hard for an answer. “OK.” She said looking back out the window. What could possibly be wrong she was just happy and smiling to seconds ago? I guess a car ride gives you time to think. I just hope she’s ok. I pulled into a huge restaurant that I made reservations for. I have never ate her before. I wanted our first date to be a first experience for the both of us. Emma sat up straighter and looked at me with a huge smile. There she is, Emma’s back. I smiled back at her. “Niall, this place looks so beautiful!” She said happily. “I know I’ve always thought this place looked good. I’ve just never had the chance to go.” I replied getting out of the car and opening her door for her. She grabbed my hand as we walked to the entrance. I pulled open the door and stepped to the side so she could walk in first. “Hello my name is Leo, I’ll be your server today.” A tall man with dark hair and eyes said. “Just the two of you?” he asked. “Yes, I have a reservation under Horan.” I replied. “Ah yes, right this way please.” He said. We followed behind him. I had my hand on Emma’s lower back leading her through the restaurant. There were white pillars all around and everything was lined with gold with fancy chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Emma and I probably looked like a couple of idiots looking around wide eyed and amazed. “Here you are, the VIP section” Leo said stepping back so that we could walk in. it was absolutely gorgeous. The VIP section looked very similar to the regular dining area but it had an entire wall, ceiling to floor, that was just a massive fish tank filled with beautiful coral reefs and fish. Emma stared with her mouth opened in amazement. I glanced over at Leo, who was still standing waiting to take our order. He was staring at Emma with hungry eyes. Oh he better not try anything with her. Emma turned around and through her arms around neck and hugged me tight. My head stayed turned looking at Leo. He finally took his eyes off her long enough to realize I saw him. He just looked at me and then back to her. Is he really going to do that while I’m right here? She let go of me and I turned my attention to her. “Thank you Niall, this is amazing!” She said then she kissed me and the lips quickly. “I’m glad you like it.” I said looking back to Leo for a split second. Leo then seated us and took our orders. The food was very, very good but, all I kept noticing was Leo walking by looking at her. Emma never even seemed to notice so that’s good. When we were done with our meal, Leo escorted us out the door and that’s when he slapped Emma’s butt quickly. “Did he just-“ I said enraged then Emma cut me off. “Yes but Niall don’t worry about it let’s just go.” She said in a panicked voice pulling my arm . “Ok” I said finally because I didn’t want to see her so nervous. We left and got in the car. “Niall” she said . “Let’s just forget it alright.” I said without looking at her. “Thank you for the dinner” she said putting her hand on mine which calmed me down right away. “You’re welcome Em now we just have one more stop to make.” I said with a cheeky smile. I started the car and pulled away.
