Bad Timing ♡
Chapter Two
Adelaide's POV
her outfit
I rushed into the lecture room and every single eye was turned on me.
“You must be Adelaide.” The man I presumed was the teacher boomed from the front of the room.
“Uh, yes, that’s me. Sorry I’m late.”
“Take a seat.”
I awkwardly walked up the stairs, passing rows of students staring at me, the only noise being my shoes echoing through the room.
I got to the top of the stairs and looked around. There weren’t many seats…
“Oh, take your time, that’s fine.” The teacher rolled his eyes.
“Hey, you can sit here.” I heard a raspy voice whisper.
I looked around, and sure enough, I was met by green eyes. He beckoned me to the spare seat next to him.
I crawled through and sat down. “Thanks a million, you just saved my life.”
The stranger chuckled. “Your new here, aren’t you?”
“My first day!”
“Am I interrupting something?” The teacher bellowed from down the front.
I blushed red and shook my head, looking down at the books I'd pulled out of my bag.
When he knew the teacher had his back turned, the stranger leaned over and whispered to me. “Don’t worry about him, he’s all bark but no bite.”
I glanced over at him and smiled slightly, still not wanting to get caught in the act again.
Obviously, the stranger didn’t take the hint though. “I’m Harry.”
“Adelaide.” I whispered without looking up.
“I like it.”
“Call me Addie.” I felt myself smile.

I was walking out of the lecture room when I was surprised by a familiar voice.
“Addie!”
I turned, only to see Harry smiling brightly. “Where are you off too?”
“My second lecture, I really do not want to be late again.” I slowed my pace so we walked in time.
“Where’s that?”
I looked down at the sheet the dominant gave me yesterday. “Lecture room A32.”
“Do you know where that is?”
I shook my head.
“Want me to show you?”
I nodded.
“You don’t talk much, do you?” Harry questioned as we walked down one of the corridors.
“It depends, I guess.”
“On?”
“Who I’m talking to and where I am.”
“So, you’re not talking much because I’m a stranger and you’re at a strange place?”
“Precisely.” I looked up at him, a slight giggle escaping my mouth. I realised it was the first time I’d looked properly at Harry.
He had dark brown curls that he slicked up above his head in a motionless quiff. His eyes were a light shade of green, but had a mysterious orb around them. His jawline was prominent and his neck was long. His skin was flawless, and so was his fashion sense. As he walked, he shoved his hands in his pockets and scuffed his shoes slightly.
“How long have you been coming here?” I asked, pealing my eyes back to his face.
“Too long.”
“How long is that?”
“Well, I came last year, but I failed my finals, so I have to go through this year again.”
“Oh.”
///
The rest of the day passed with flying colours, and I didn’t see Harry at all.
I was walking out at the end of the day, the rain pouring around me. I fiddled around in my soggy jacket pocket in search of my keys but I’m fingertips found nothing but damp material.
I peered into my car window, and saw my keys sitting on the seat. “Oh crap…”
I’d been banging on the car door for a while when I heard his familiar, husky voice behind me.
“Locked out?”
I turned to see Harry, standing under his umbrella looking dry but cold.
“Yeah… I locked my keys in the car…”
He walked over to me and smiled, putting his umbrella over my head and taking off his coat to wrap around my shivering body.
“Oh you don’t have to do-“
“It’s alright.”
I blushed brightly as he pushed the umbrella handle into my hand and walked out into the rain. He placed one hand on the door handle, and rested his other arm on the top of the window.
“Do you have a pin or something?”
I pulled a bobby-pin out of my hair. “Is this good?”
He answered with a smile and took it out of my hand, before shoving it into the keyhole. After fiddling with it a while, my car door clicked open.
“Oh, thanks a million.” I gushed, quickly giving his umbrella back.
I clambered into the car and shut the door, but put my window down.
“Anytime, drive home safe love.” He leaned in my window and pecked me on the cheek.
I blushed beetroot-red before smiling and putting my window up, only to drive off, leaving a soaking Harry alone, but smiling, in the car-park.
