Chapter 21: Nice to Meet You

Leila's P.O.V.

I wake up in a surprisingly comfortable bed. I’m trying to remember how I got here since the last thing I remember was falling asleep on Niall on the couch downstairs. Sitting up, I look at my surroundings and realize I’m in Niall’s bed, but he’s not next to me. As I swing my legs around the edge of the bed, I hear noises coming from the kitchen, my first guess being he’s making breakfast.

I scan my eyes across the room, taking it in. The room is neat and simple, with not too many decorations. His guitars are sitting on stands in one corner, pictures of him and friends located just above that. He has a wooden dresser with a matching wooden desk, papers and music, it looks like, strewn across it. The room has a theme of red and tan, causing it to have a warm, comfortable, calming feel. I inhale a deep breath before padding out of the room and down the stairs.

“I smell breakfast!” I declare, descending the last few stairs.

“You’ve got that right,” I hear him reply from the kitchen.

I enter in and see him bustling about, trying to do everything he can to make this perfect.

“Wow, Niall, you didn’t have to go through all of this trouble!” I exclaim as I look at all of the breakfast food he has prepared.

“I just wanted you to have a good morning,” he explains, taking out the last batch of muffins from the oven.

I sit down by the counter and wait for him to finish up. It doesn’t take him long for most of the food is already done. He piles a plate full of the delicious snacks and slides it to me across the counter. I catch it with my hands before it ends up falling off and to the ground below.

“Thank you,” I say with surprise.

As I dig in, he prepares his own plate and sits next to me, attacking it, too. This food is amazing, especially when it’s supplied by someone special. He’s going to have to cook for me from now on.

We finish quickly and Niall takes our dirty dishes to the sink. He puts all of the leftovers away and cleans up and I feel slightly guilty because I should probably help, but by that time, he’s got everything finished. I enter in the living room and crash on the couch, waiting for him to join me. He eventually does and we snuggle up together.

Suddenly, the doorbell rings, causing me to jump. Niall untangles himself from me and answers it. I’m curious for what’s going on, since I can’t see the front door from the living room.

“Um, Sierra, hi,” Niall says.

“Hey, Niall. I heard you were in town and I thought I’d stop by,” an unfamiliar girl’s voice replies.

“I don’t think that’s a great idea,” Niall responds. I’m interested now, so I peek my head around the corner.

A straight blonde haired girl is standing in the doorway, eyes darting back and forth throughout the house. Her large bust is popping out of a low-cut v-neck, along with a matching pair of jean booty shorts. Her face literally looks like a coloring book; dark, heavy makeup is splotched all over. Honestly, she looks like a skank.

“Why not? I don’t see anybody else in here,” she responds. Because of that, I step out, fully exposing myself.

“Oh, who’s that?” Sierra questions, looking at me with a disgusted look. She reminds me of Spencer.

“Sierra, leave,” Niall demands.

“But why? I just got here. You should learn to be more polite with your guests,” she replies, and walks into the house.

“Sierra, don’t make me ask you aga-”

“So how’s life been, Niall? Anything new since the last time I saw you?” she asks, winking. I have no idea what’s going on.

“A lot, but I’m not telling you,” he answers flatly.

“Aw, why not? Come, I’ve got a lot of time on my hands,” she smirks, dancing past me and into the living room, pulling Niall with her.

Who the hell is this girl?!

She sits down on the sofa and pats the spot next to her, indicating the saved spot for Niall. He doesn’t move an inch toward her, but turns to me instead. He puts a protective arm around me before speaking directly to her.

“Sierra, get out of my house or I will call the police,” he insists.

“So, are you going to tell me who your little fuck buddy is?” she questions, pointing at me.

“That’s it,” Niall says, and pulls out his phone. He dials 911 but before he can press the “Call” button, Sierra jumps up and tackles him to the ground, landing on top of him. I’m in shock as to what just happened, and I have no idea what to do. Sierra’s got him pinned underneath her, and he can’t move an inch. Her breasts are basically bursting out of her small push-up bra, visibly seen through her thin shirt. Her legs are wrapped around Niall’s body, exposing her secret.

“Let’s finish what we started,” she sneers, running her hands up and down attempting to take off his clothes.

“Get off of him!” I scream, attacking her. She yelps and falls back, me landing on top of her now. Niall’s free and he attempts to grab me, but I’m already at her, slapping her face back and forth many times.

“Leila!” Niall yells, and I finally stop, tears coming out of my eyes now. I get off of her and Niall takes over, picking her up off of the floor and pulling her into the hallway. I hear the door open and Sierra screams as Niall shoves her out of the door.

“Stay away from me!” he howls, and slams the door.

I sink back into the couch with my face in my hands. I’m still confused as to what just happened and why that girl was touching my boyfriend. Niall rushes back into the living room and to my side, holding me close.

“Wh-who was that girl?” I sob, looking up at him.

“You okay now?” he asks first, and I nod.

“She was Spencer’s best friend,” he starts, and everything clicks together. She looked so much like Spencer, spoke like Spencer, and definitely acted like Spencer.

“Because Spencer and I hated each other, she automatically hated me, too. She didn’t really know why, but she did, anyways. They did the most horrendous things to me, and the worst was that Spencer would always tell her lies about me to hate me even more. There was this one lie that got Sierra so pissed at me and that’s when it all went down,” Niall explains.

He pauses for a bit before going into the story, his face twisting up in pain.

“Leila, promise me you’ll never repeat this to anyone. I know you won’t, but I just want to make sure.”

“I promise,” I agree, confused and worried.

“Okay, well, Spencer told her this one lie that-that I almost r-raped her, and that’s when Sierra got so mad at me, even though it’s not true. I wouldn’t do that to anyone, no matter how much I hate them,” Niall stutters. I gasp, wondering how bad this is going to be.

“So one night, after Spencer had rehearsal at the studio, Sierra was there, watching and supporting her, and I was there, too, because, well, you know. It was around dinnertime and I went outside to go around the block to get food. Well, Sierra caught me as I stepped outside and she pinned me against the side of the building, and-and sh-she…”

Niall buries his head in his hands, overwhelmed with the story. I want to know what happened next, but I have the feeling that I already know what it is.

“She what?” I push, trying not to pressure him. He takes a deep breath and raises his head.

“She raped me,” he finishes, his eyes filling with water. My mouth drops open in surprise and I wrap my arms around him, holding him close now, too.

“Oh, my God, I’m so sorry, Niall,” I breathe. He holds on to me and recollects himself, inhaling deep breaths until the tears subside.

“After last year, after the incident, I didn’t think I’d see her ever again. When Spencer found out, she freaked and those two weren’t best friends anymore. I guess maybe Spencer had a heart and didn’t like the fact that Sierra took it too far,” Niall continues. “But I don’t know what’s going on. I’m scared that they’re friends again and from what you told me about Spencer, who knows what they could do to me?”

“If that is true, we’re both targets, now,” I add. “But we’ll get through this together.”

He smiles down at me and I return it, hugging him one more time.

“Well, we should probably get you home,” Niall delivers, standing up. I reach over and grab my phone off of the table. Madison had texted me asking where I am, considering I haven’t been in communication with her since Friday, I believe. Dang.

“Ugh, but I don’t wanna go back,” I complain. I’d rather stay here with him.

“It’s almost 1, you’ve got to go home to get ready for a new week,” he says, stretching.

“Yeah, a new week of drama with Spencer,” I reply. Niall gives me a look. “By the way, where is your uncle? I thought you said he lives with you here.”

“He might just be caught up with work. He stays pretty late some nights and doesn’t feel like making the trip back here, so he sleeps in his office. I know that sounds crazy, but his office is huge and he has a couch in it, so it all works,” Niall explains.

“That is kind of weird,” I say.

“Yeah. Well, I’m going to go change upstairs, so be ready to go, my friend will be here any minute,” he adds, and heads upstairs.

As I wait, I realize how often Niall’s friends drive him around. It’s like he can get a chauffeur whenever he wants, from his own friends. Well, I guess those are the perks of being a celebrity.

Notes

We've reached 100 votes on Wattpad! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Hope you're enjoying it so far! I'm not sure if I'll be able to write another chapter by Sunday, my high school's spring musical is performing this weekend, so I've been involved in that and not having much time to write. So if you want to know if I'll be able to or not, please follow the Twitter for this fanfic: @Drama_1Dfanfic and my personal: @leikelamichelle.

@leikelamichelle

Sounds good to me - other fanfic ideas are just as good as sequels! I'm certainly not trying to pressure you into writing a sequel, I was just curious as to whether you, at this point in time, planned on it :).

I do look forward to your new Niall (or Ashton or otherwise) story ideas ^_^
