The Past
Chapter 6- Chef Harry
By the time the movie had finished it was 6 and the sun had risen. I had fallen into a light sleep by the end of the movie, still remotely aware of my surroundings. I felt Harry’s weight shift of the bed, but I didn’t have the energy to explore his movements further. In what felt like moments later Harry brushed his hand through my hair.
“It’s 7.30, love. I made you breakfast” his raspy voice brining me to consciousness.
I looked up at him. Knowing my hair was a mess and my makeup from yesterday would probably be smudged on my face.
“You didn’t have to do that, Harry” I couldn’t keep the smile from my face. “But thank you, that is very sweet”.
I followed him downstairs to a sweet aroma.
“Pancakes!” he said, looking proudly at his master chef creation.
It really did look delicious. I sat down smiling and took a bite of his culinary skills. It was the best pancakes I had ever eaten.
“Mmhh” I groaned at the taste.
He smirked, obviously pleased with my reaction.
After I had eaten breakfast and was satisfied with the full feeling left in my stomach and was ready I picked up my bag and walked towards the front door.
“Where are you going?” Harry questioned.
“School, duh! I have to go get my car.” I replied to his stupidity.
“No, I know, but I can drive you, it’s no problem” I smirked at my own stupidity, momentarily forgetting that Harry attended the same school as me.
“Oh right. Thanks Haz” I blushed at the nickname.
“Haz?” he frowned.
“You don’t like it?” I revoked.
“No, I do, it’s just... never mind” he trailed off.
“I mind.” I pressed.
He huffed “it’s just that no one has called me that since... Well since mum and dad used to.” He looked away and then began to walk to the door. “Come on, we have school to attend”
It was obviously a touchy topic. I understood.
