The Past
Chapter 2- The first meet
It was fifth period, maths; such a bore. I was in the middle of reminiscing what had been the most amazing summer of my life when something caught my attention. He was walking into class with his head down, curly hair flopping over his face. I knew everyone at school but his face was one that was new to my mind. New; but in some strange and impossible way, familiar, and my mind craved our eyes to meet. It was though my subconscious mind wanted to get up and meet the stranger. My eyes followed him as he walked to the back of the class. I couldn’t help but allow my line of vision to follow him as he sat down and slump his posture on the chair, his legs stretched out in front of him. I was drawn to him for a reason that was still unclear to me. He didn’t look very happy. He looked exactly how I felt. His eyes met mine momentarily before I blushed and turned back to the front of the class. What a great first impression; he probably thought I was some crazy stalker. I went back to daydreaming to pass the time in class as I really had no interest in what we were learning. Bad, I know but I usually just crammed a week before exams and I still did well so school really was irrevelant for a good 5 weeks of the term. A voice interrupted my train of thought.
“Isn’t it just pi times the radius?” his voice was husky and beautiful and his words were clear but slow.
“Mr Styles, would you like to teach this class?” the teacher replied with annoyance.
“No” he slumped back down in his chair and threw a paper ball in the bin while the rest of the class laughed and murmured about the disruption caused by the beautiful boy at the back.
The teacher frowned at the boy’s impromptu game but made an attempt to ignore the behaviour by talking about the topic some more. I zoned out again. I subtly looked back in attempt to see the boy’s perfectly defined face. All I could do was peak through my hair without being too obvious, but it shocked me when I saw his green eyes looking back at me. He didn’t look away, but rather smirked confidently at me as though the eye contact hadn’t bothered him. Before I could enjoy the lasting connection, I looked away in attempt to hide the 5 shades deeper of red I had become. I tried to tune out the bore of the teachers monotone voice and instead looked to the branches swinging with the wind outside. The clouds were rolling over the mountains in the distance, and I could tell that there would be a bad storm tonight.
The bell caught me off guard. Was it 3 already? I waited for the rush of class to leave and got up when I knew that the class was empty. So when I raspy voice spoke I jumped in suprise, my heart nearly lunging from my chest.
“Hey”
I turned, looking at the curly haired boy, whose gorgeous smile beamed on his face. I looked around to see if he was speaking to anyone else but his eyes were connected with mine.
“Hey” I replied blushing and looking down at my feet.
Oh why was I such an awkward person?
“I’m Harry” he responded to my embarrassing moment in an attempt to distract me from my burning warm cheeks.
“Oh um hey, I’m Lucy”.
He leaned in close to me and whispered in my ear, his raspy voice echoing in my mind, his hot breath leaving the hair on my skin standing and goose bumps risen.
“I’ll see you around” before he grabbed his books and walked out of the class.
