Madalyn
Chapter 1
I was getting dressed on an average school day for London. "Kiss You" was on replay on my radio and I was dancing and trying to put my pants on. I'm Mexican American, so occasionally I would curse at my hair in spanish for not wanting to go into its proper place. It was a Friday, a Friday before my One Direction concert. I had moved to London my Junior year in highschool, now 18, I was a senior and quite ready to be done with my highschool education. I loved London, I always felt free here. I grabbed a granola bar off the counter, fed my goldfish Jimmy and my dog Henry.
I stepped out into a warm climate and climbed into my little beetle. I drove to school, still jamming to One Direction and buzzing with excitement. I got out of my car in the parking lot and was met by my best friend Ariella.
"Hey shorty," she teased. I was only 4'9, so our constant joke was that I was a midget and raised my Mexican leprachauns.
"Hey Jolly Green Giant," I laughed. We discussed our Geometry test and the popular football player that seemed to have a growing interest in her.
"So, Ariella," the boy we were just talking about walked up and started a conversation with her. I winked and headed off to my Biology class. My lab partner tried to talk to me, but she was a really rude girl and I most definately was not interested in talking to her. I responded with simple yes or no answers and left it at that.
At the end of the day, I went shopping with Ariella and got a new outfit for my concert. She wished me goodluck with my younger sister and we parted. I drove home and was met by an excited younger sister.
"Madalyn! Madalyn! Look at what I did in school!" she exclaimed.
"Oh, that is so pretty Maia!" I laughed, her macaroni necklace looked exactly like the piles and piles of others she has made throughout the years, but each one she brought home, she was proud about.
"How was school, dear?" my mother asked, stirring the chili that was on the stove.
"Perfect!" I exclaimed.
"You excited about tomorrow?" she asked, I nodded so vigorously that my neck popped, "So you are leaving at 3AM to see if you can catch them?" I nodded again, "You're crazy. Anyway, hope you have fun!" she laughed.
I downed my chili, and despite it being only 6 at night, I headed up to get ready for bed. I was in bed by 6:30 and asleep by 6:45. I was so excited I was tired. I dreamt of Liam, my favorite, and dreamt of my life with the boys. Even though that life was a fantasy, I was hoping that they would at least want to hang out with me, although I didn't think of myself as pretty.
