Delilah struggled to open the door to overly large house. The air conditioner immediately hit her she hated the heat. Winter was always her favorite time of the year. She had just gotten back from the mall after being dragged around by her best friend Maddie.
They were polar opposites. Maddie spend money like a mad women and was super outgoing. She always put her opinion out there and engaged in as many conversations as she could while Delilah only talked when it was necessary. but opposites attract don' they? She let Maddie do all the talking while her mind drifted to him.
She didn't know anything about him. They had spent 2 weeks together in the library but they never talked. He only listened as Delilah read out loud to him and then he would leave to drink. She only knew that he was once in a band. She needed to know more so looked to google to discover more about this mysterious boy.
She spent hours looking up One Direction. She could believe how much of a hit they were and how happy Liam seemed in the pictures. He looks so different, he doesn't look worn out or tired. He genuinely looks happy, she wasn't used to seeing him smile. He always just seemed to have a frown on his face and groaning from his headache. He listened to some of the music and couldn't even believe they were the same people. How could be throwing his life away at just 21?
"We're having a party later and your presence is needed" said Delilah's mother, she hadn't even noticed when she came in.
"Sorry but I have plans"
"Going to that filthy library and wasting away your life is not okay, your 20 for heaven sakes"
"Actually I'm already late, see you later mom"
Her mom never understood Delilah. She walked out and headed for the library.
