My brother's girlfriend

"Owen! Owen!" I yell right beside him. He is still staring at Lux in a daydream-y kind of gaze. Good. He definitely in love with her. I smile deviously. "Ohhh!" I tease. "Someone's got a crush!!" Owen rolls his eyes and waves his arms, like he's trying to swat a fly. "Someone's got crruuusshhh!!!" I sing annoyingly. His face turns red. "Hasn't anyone ever told you NOT to poke your nose in other people's love life??" He whines. The trip back home was just like the trip to school, full of awkward silences.

Our mom doesn't get come until 7:00 so that gives me about 4 hours to try and get Owen to ask out Lux. The whole way up to Owen's room, there was, let's just say: signs for me not to do this. For example, while I was on my way up the stairs, I almost fell backwards. AND! And, when I reached the top of the stairs, Sutter, our dog, just jumps out at me, almost making me fall down the stairs. Also, when I reached for Owen's door knob, it shocked me. When I stepped in his room, the first thing that touches my shoe is a piece of 6 week old gum. Bad signs? Tell me about it!!

"Owen? Can I talk to you?" I ask in the most fricking polite way ever. But he doesn't turn around. Mm, that's just cold. "OWEN JOSH FUSICK!! TURN AROUND AND GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE!!!!" Holy shit. What did I just say to him?? He takes out his ear buds, the music is so loud, I can hear it from where I'm standing. He gives me his best what-the-fuck-do-you-want? face. I take a breath as I start speaking but he just interrupts me.

"Wait, wait, Kim," He says, holding up his hands. "Don't tell me it's still about my "crush" on Lux okay?" I remain silent. He just admitted he likes Lux Atkin. After realizing what he just did, he covers his mouth. "Damn it!!" I raise my eyebrows up and down. He knows what that means, I've done it a lot of times to him whenever he likes a girl. Maybe this time, he didn't fail.

"Yes!" He confesses. "Yeah, I got her digits." I smile, my plan is working out just fine. "But, I'm not gonna call her." The smile immediately fades from my face. My jaw drops, the only chance he might ever get with a girl and he passes on it?? Idiot.

"Why not?" I ask, a little too desperate. "I mean, dayum, she's hot." Owen's face turns pink, he obviously wants to call her. "Take out your damn phone and ask her out!" He shakes his head. Oh well, time to take things into my own hands. I stretch myself across his bed and grab his phone. He gives me the death glare. "Don't. You. Dare." He threatens. Too late! I press the contacts button and hit her number. It's dialing......

"Hello?" A sweet voice says. "It's Lux Atkin here." I throw the phone to Owen, but he just passes it back. What the hell are you doing? I mouth as I throw it back. Like a reflex, he just hands it back to me. I don't want it! He mouths. Ugh!! Boys are such idiots. "Umm... Is this a prank call?" Lux asks. "Cause I'm hanging up if it is." Shit! I quickly pinch Owen's arm. He lets out a small gasp.

"No! It's just Owen!" He says quickly. "It's just Owen."

"Owen!" Lux says, all of a sudden excited. I quietly squeal, but not quiet enough. "Wait, Owen, am I on speaker?" I shake my head so hard, I get dizzy. I place the phone in his hands as I put my finger to my mouth.

"Uhh, no," He lies. "Um, what's up Lux?" You owe me!! Me mouths.

"Things are good, you?"

"Good, good. Um, i actually wanted to ask you a question."

"Sure! Go for it!"

"Uh, okay, um, d-do you wanna be my, um, g-girlfriend?" He studders. Having trouble on the last word. There's only silence on the other end.

"Do I wanna be your girlfriend? Uh, YEAH I DO!!" Lux shouts. Owen face gets red again. Part one, accomplished.
