Run Away

“It was just a bad dream. It’s going to be okay.” Avery kept repeating while rocking me back and forth. I've been crying since Avery woke me up and I'm scared to death. What if it’s not okay and it’s not just a bad dream. What if it was a sign of my future and that he’s actually going to do that to me. I started crying harder if that was even possible.

“Shh please stop crying. I don't like seeing you like this.” Avery started rocking us back and forth again while drawing random shapes into my back to calm me down. I guess it worked because after a few minutes I stopped crying.

“A-Avery w-what if he d-does get me?” I got out in shaky breaths and I felt Avery tense around me.

“He’s not going to okay” I nodded and he hugged me tighter.

“Are you hungry?” He asked

“N-not r-really” I started hiccuping. Ugh when I cry really hard, I hiccup when I start to calm down.

“Okay well I’m gonna get you some water and make some food if you want any later” I just nodded

When he left I just brought my knees to my chest and hugged myself. The only thing I could look at was the wall. It was like the only thing that existed right now. I wasn't thinking about anything. My mind went completely blank unlike a couple minutes ago. I heard my door open and I knew it was Avery. I looked over at the door, but didn't see my brother. I saw…… Josh.

“AHHH!! Get away from me you sick bastard. Help help help Avery Avery. He’s here help it’s Josh. He’s here. HELP!!” I started throwing my pillows on my bed at Josh.

“Lex, Lex stop, Lexi!” Josh kept saying. He started walking towards me and I froze.
He grabbed my arms and started shaking me.

“Lex snap out of it. It’s me Avery” I Started thrashing all over the place. When I looked away from him and closed my eyes, I knew something was going to happen. When I looked back at Josh, I no longer saw him. I saw my brother with a look of panic and worry written all over his face.

“A-Avery” I threw myself into his arms. My body just gave up.

For the rest of the day, Avery stayed with me. He called off work saying he had a family issue. It was about 8:00 pm and I was trying to watch Looney Toons. Avery put it on because it always seems to cheer me up when I'm feeling down. What I’m still a kid a heart. Right now, I guess it wasn't working because I'm still feeling down.

I looked over at Avery and saw him passed out and all over the place. The blanket he brought in here was half on him and half hanging off the bed. I should take a picture, but I don't know where my phone is and I think Avery to it so I didn't do anything stupid I guess. I don’t know my brothers weird sometimes. I lowered the volume on the TV so I wouldn't wake him. I just stared at the TV
blankly.

I woke up to the door bell ringing. I don't remember falling asleep last night. I didn't see Avery so I thought he went to his bed or work. The bell Kept ringing so I got up and went to get it. I don't even care how I looked and I was afraid to look in the mirror. I might break it. I opened the door to find Harry.

“Oh hi Harry!” I said politely even though I was cussing him out in my head for waking me.

“You look horrible. You're coming with me.” He said in a low voice that kind of creeped me out.

“What? Why?” I asked quite confused

“Because I fucking said so” and then he grabbed my arm and forced me into his car.
