Above & Beyond
☁Chapter One☁
Bree's Perspective
"Ms.Parker! Ms.Parker! Your father specifically said that we had to be on the train by nine o'clock!" Carla said as she followed me through the garden, in her short, nude-colored heels.
"I know, I promise we'll be out the door in five minutes." I replied.
"But, Ms.Parker we only have three minutes before the chauffeur gets here!" She said in a nervous tone.
"Then we'll have to take a short cut." I said simply while turning the corner revealing many trees and a huge, sweet-smelling, colorful flowerbed.
"Hurry up Ms.Parker!" Carla yelled from behind.
"Oh Carla, Daddy won't mind if we're just a little late." I replied.
"Ms.Parker you know very well, that your father does not like you to be late!" She said with her hands on her hips.
I looked around and spotted a small object high up in a tree.
"Ah! There it is!" I said, climbing up the tall tree, and reaching to the highest branch.
Carla looked around and tapped her foot impatiently.
"Tell me again what we are looking for Ms.Parker." She stated, sounding frustrated.
"This!" I replied as I dropped a small, brown, leather journal in front of her feet.
She looked at me in disbelief.
"You're telling me we waisted time over a journal? You told me it was important!" She yelled furiously.
"But, It was important!" I fired back while stepping down from the tree.
"Come right this way Ms.Parker! We can't waist anymore time!" She said, grabbing my arm and pulling me towards the wooden, white gate. Luckily, I grabbed the journal.
Carla was basically my nanny. She did everything for me. She picked out my outfits, she chose what I ate, and even decided what I did in what is so called "Free Time"
She was about thirty seven, but looked much older. She had long, thin black, silky hair that went down her back. I think she could look young if she wanted to, but she's more caught up in her job, than her beauty.
