Harry’s Pov

We all sat around the table the next morning, we ate something that resembled oatmeal and some tea- mint and pine needle again

It was hard watching Scarlett gush over having Liam’s baby, watching her giggle and smile and laugh. Her hands on her tummy. It was hard to watch everyone else be so excited, while I sat here and let my resentment fester and boil.

I knew I was practically over reacting, but I saved her I loved her. And she lied; she loves me she knows that she really does.

I had looked at everyone one last time.

“So Harry” Scarlett smiled “What’s got you furrowing your brows?”

I swallowed hard “I’m leaving.”

Scarlett’s Pov

I looked at Harry-I was confused leaving?

“Leaving?” I asked

“I’m leaving camp- alone” He clarified

The world momentarily spun.

“Are you fucking insane?” I asked my voice rising “Strength in numbers Harry! If you go by yourself you’re going to DIE.”

“I’m going alone.” Harry said calmly

“Mate don’t make rash decisions.” Liam said

“ Well you two clearly made one” He snorted pointing to me and Liam and then my tummy. “Firstly, you got her pregnant you got a sixteen year old pregnant. It’s Illegal Liam. Illegal.”

“SO this is what it’s about” I said angrily “You’re leaving because I’m having a baby.”

“No” Harry snapped, “ I’m better off on my own. I’m no good here. I’m useless; It’s more mouths to feed.”

“Harry” I whimpered tears filling my eyes.

“No Scarlett” he shook his head “Don’t.”

“I-” I began

“No” He said he stood up and began to walk away.

“You aren’t leaving yet!?” I asked hysterically

“I’m leaving in and hour.” He said walking into his tent

And I looked at the boys Zayn and Niall’s mouths hanging open, Louis and Liam faces pale.

And then I cried.

Harry’s Pov

I wrote letters to them all of them, telling them why I left.

I reread Scarlett’s

My Dearest Scarlett Rose Alexander,

I’m sorry.

I know I’m hurting you by leaving- I know.

But I’m making your life easier.

With me out of the picture you can stop worrying.

About Liam and I,

About who you love,

About which one wins this.

I lose.

I give up.

I forfeit.

I surrender.

But in a way I’ve won.

I am victorious.

I am triumphant.

I attained your love once.

I made you smile.

I made you laugh.

I made a friend.

I’m sorry.

I wish you and Liam both the best of luck with your soon to be baby.

It’s going to be a girl, I’m positive.

Tell her about me.

Tell her about Uncle Harry.

Don’t let her think that Uncle Harry was a coward.

Don’t let her think I didn’t love her.

Or you.

Or Liam.

Tell her I did it to make her safe.

So she could live with more food.

Tell her I loved you and everyone there.

I could keep writing to her for hours but I didn’t have that time.

I was satisfied with what I wrote.

I slowly grabbed everything and walked outside.

Scarlett’s pov

I just sat there staring at Harry’s tent.

He immerged letters in his hand.

He walked up to everyone individually. Niall first who grabbed him and hugged him hard, he then hugged Zayn and Liam, he handed then a letter to them all.

Louis was further away, Harry walked over to him and dropped his bag he grabbed him and pulled him to him hard. Louis and Harry were best friends- they were the closest in the group definitely. Louis must be broken. Harry handed him a letter and then Harry pulled off his necklace and handed Louis a charm from it.

Louis Pov

“Here” Harry looked at me his eyes full of tears. “So you don’t forget me”

“Mate don’t go” I cried “You’re my best friend, you’re leaving me too Harry”

“I know” He sniffed hard.

He put the necklace in my hand it had his gold pendant on it.

“So you don’t forget me” He said again

“Harry” my voice shook “You’re my best friend, I could never forget you.”

“Maybe we’ll meet again someday” He said

“Hopefully” I replied “Maybe not in life, but in heaven”

“As long as you’re fully alive, or floating about, not that in-between.”

“Not with Vivens” I said “I know mate.”

“Love you Lou,” He said

“Love you too Haz”

Scarlett’s pov

The other boys had gone over to the food to pack some cans for harry.

Harry came over to me and sat down.

“Hi” He said

I looked ahead.

“I’m sorry” he said

I looked ahead.

After 10 minutes of silence Harry stood up and began to walk away.

“Why?” I suddenly said

Harry walked back to me.

“Why Harry? Why do you have to go?” I asked

“Scarlett” he breathed my name

“Why Harry? Why?” I asked my eyes filling even more.

“Read the letter, It’ll explain” He said

“I want to here it from you” I teared up

“I love you, and if you love someone sometimes you need to let them go.”

I nodded.

He handed me a letter.

I took it and said “thank you.”

He handed me his ring.

I looked up at him.

“Remember Me,” He whispered

“How could I not?” Tears dripped.

He wiped them away.

I kissed him.

Our lips touching, tears mingling my fingers in his hair.

“Goodbye My Love” He breathed, “I love you”

“Goodbye, I love you too Darling”
