Little white lies
Chapter 2
I finally wake up to see it's only 4:30 am but I couldn't sleep all I thought about was that neighbor. I run down the stairs and try to find my moms room I needed to talk to her about what were gonna do today because I don't have school until tomorrow.
I woke up my mom and she was to tired to yell at me instead of saying.,......
"Emily go back to bed it's late you need your sleep" she says ....
"Hey Emily what do you want?" I told her that I love it here so far and she says that today, if we want to, we can have lunch with out neighbors I smile at what she says because I need to meet that boy so I just nod in agreement then me and my mom did what we've never done before, he had a mother and daughter conversation.
I asked her " where's dad, why did he leave?" My mom sighed. I know it hard for a woman to raise three kids of on your own and try to make them happy every minute you spend with them.
She said,
"Your father was a good man he really was when Jonathan was born he was so happy but then sooner or later Rebecca came and then grandma kicked us out and we were on our own we lived in an apartment and bills after
bills after bills came in and your father got tired of it so he began drinking and doing drugs then he came home one night and hit me and during that time I was pregnant with you and I called 911, when he got released from jail he yelled at me and started abusing me then he ran off ".
I saw tears building in her eyes and I saw a shadow of a boy I turn to see my brother he looks sad I turned at the alarm clock to see its 7:35 am , damn time goes by fast.
He looked at me and my mom and said "I made you breakfast" my mom said "thank you JJ" she smiled then said if he wanted to be here to greet the neighbors he said he'll love too. She told him to ask Rebecca he said ok when he returned he said Rebecca can't because she's going job searching right now and won't be back until 8:30pm.
Then my my mom said I guess it's just us, that the same thing she said when my father left.
