Ashlynn's POV.

"Home sweet home" Harry said to me as we pulled back up to the lake house.

"Yes now time for the water!" I said to him excitingly as I got out of the car to grab a bag of ice and our bag of candy.

"Babe I can get the ice, you don't have to!" he told me being the macho man he is.

"Harry, there is like six bags. You can get the other five! Just let me help you a little bit." I said to him smiling.

"Fine! I suppose. Hey babe you left your phone in your seat..Don't worry I'll grab it!" he told me.

"THANK YOU DEARY!" I told him as I walked into the house. "Ohkay kids! Here's the ice! Sorry we took so long. Got mobbed by the paps!" I told them as I handed the bag of ice to Niall so he could empty it into the ice chest.

"Oh yeah, how did that go?" Sophia asked.

"It went fine" I smiled at her knowing what she was referring to.

Harry walked in after putting four bags of ice in the freezer in the garage and bringing the other one inside.

"Here you go lads, fill her up." He said when he handed the other bag to Niall and Zayn.

He sat down next to Jayci on the couch and I made my way over there to sit on his lap. He wrapped his arms around my stomach and put his chin on my shoulder now leaving small kisses on my neck.

"Ohkay. How about you stop?" Jayci said disgusted next to me.

"How about you don't start missy." I told her as I shot her a look.

"I told you, NOTHING HAPPENED!" she told me now with pleading eyes to leave it alone.

"Will you at least tell me later?" I asked her giving her puppy dog eyes.

"Yes, you know I will." she said to me smiling.

"Babe, your phone's ringing." Harry said as he handed me my phone from his pocket. I looked at it and my expression turned numb. "Who is it baby?" He asked me.

"It's my dad..." I told him not breaking my stare from the phone.

"Ash, you don't have to answer it..you know that." Jayci now telling me I had no obligation.

"Yes I do, excuse me." I told them as I got up and left the room.

Harry's POV.

"Should I follow her" I looked to Jayci wondering what was going on.

"No, she needs to do this alone..I can't believe she answered." she told me. Now I needed to know what was happening.

"Jayci, you have to tell me what's happening. Please." I begged of her.

"Fine, follow me. " she said as I followed her outside to the back steps away from everyone else. " Sorry, I just don't want everyone else hearing this. I probably shouldn't be telling you this, but you deserve to know. And I feel like a lot of things are going to make sense once you hear all of it." she told me.

"it's fine. Just I feel so out of the loop. I won't tell her you told me." I told her.

"No, it's fine. I don't care. I'm sure she wants you to know..she just gets really emotional and depressed when she talks about it." she told me reassuring me that it was fine that I knew. I nodded letting her know that I was listening. "Ohkay so you know all of the Brendan drama, right?"

"I think so. At least I know the short version. " I told her not really sure what I knew anymore.

"Ohkay well after I found her that night she went into this depression. She didn't feel good enough. I didn't blame her, what he did was wrong. He's such a scum bag. Anyway she was already not in a good place. Well before her parents split, Ashlynn and her Dad were very close. That was till she started dating Brendan..her dad hated him, so he stopped talking to her. She was in love so she stayed with him..he WAS a great guy. He wasn't always crazy. So after her and Brendan broke up - Ashlynn and her dad's relationship went back to how it was. Well he used to call her everyday at lunch and they would talk for 30 minutes, it was all great. Well one day we were sitting at our apartment and the hour passed and he didn't call her. She was freaking out, I told her ,I said" if you are so worried just go check on him." so she went to his work, he wasn't there. She went to his house and his truck was in front. She went inside and found her dad on the floor with an empty bottle of pills." She told me.

Her words stung. Hearing that Ashlynn had to go through all of this killed me, she was so strong I never even realized how bad it all was.

"She called 911, they pumped his stomach. He was in coma for 9 days and the doctors were unaware if he would wake up or not. She was a mess Harry. I mean I've never seen someone so hurt before." Jayci continued telling me the story now tearing up remembering it all. Jayci loves Ashlynn and in this moment I can see how much.

" He finally woke up and she was so happy. The first thing he said to her when he woke up was 'I didn't want to be saved. I wanted to die. You're a worthless piece of shit who screws everything up, why couldn't you just let me do this. Why couldn't you do this one thing right Ashlynn? I don't love you anymore.'. After that she went into an even deeper depression. She wasn't eating. She wasn't going to class. Nothing. I was so worried about her Harry. I didn't know what to do to help her" Jayci said to me now crying harder.

"You are her best friend, she loves you so much. You were there for her..that was all you could do." I told her now rubbing her back.

"I know, but I should have protected her more..from Brendan..from her dad. And I couldn't even do that. One night I went out on a date ,but felt guilty for leaving her at the apartment alone so I went home early. I came back and I found her asleep on the couch with gauze wrapped around her wrist. I went to the restroom to see all these bloody tissues everywhere . I woke her up to make sure she was ohkay. She told me she was fine and that it hurt and that she was never going to do it again. She apologized for scaring me and gave me a hug and we cried all night. I finally asked her why she did it..and she told me 'I just wanted to make sure I could still feel things. Cause I've been so numb lately.' She never cut again after that night." she told me with tears in her eyes and tears now in my eyes wishing I could have been there to help her.

"Thank you for being her best friend." I told her.

"Thank you for bringing her back to life Harry." She told me now confusing me more than ever.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked her.

"About 2 weeks after she cut herself , I won some radio contest that gave me 2 tickets to see One Direction in concert...that being you. She loved you guys, the whole nine yards. We both did. When I told her that we were going she didn't want to go. It's like she was scared to be happy again. I ended up making her feel guilty and pulled the 'I thought I came home to find you dead' card to get her to go with me.We went and she didn't want to be there. Y'all were singing 'Moments' and she lost it. Had a mental breakdown in the stadium. She was screaming and yelling and just balling Harry. I just sat on the ground with her and held her and cried with her. It's like all these emotions and hate she had built up..she just exploded. When she finally stopped crying y'all were singing 'Back for you' and she looked at me and said 'Thank you for being there for me' and we stood up and basically partied the rest of the night. She was so happy after that like she was set free or something. Her smile..you love her smile right?" she asked me causing me to nod.

"Ohkay well try being her best friend and not seeing that smile for 7 weeks. She was singing the lyrics at the top of her lungs just smiling so big. You guys did that. So thank you." she told me now smiling.

I pulled her in for a hug letting her know how thankful I was that Ashlynn had a friend like her.

" So what, she hasn't talked to her dad since...?" I now asked her.

"She hasn't talked to her dad since that day he woke up in the hospital. He told her all of those things and basically told her that he didn't want anything to do with her and that she deserved to be raped by Brendan that night. 4 months later...she moved to London. And here we are today." she told me.

"Thanks for telling me all of this Jayci...I don't think she would have told me." I told her now relieved to know the whole story.

"She would have told you, she just wouldn't have told you the whole thing. She really cares about you Harry..I know I don't know you that well but for the record I vouched for you a lot till she decided to give you a chance. She didn't want to at first." she told me. Jayci was a really good friend and I was in debt to her more than I realized.

"Thank you again. She loves you a lot, she always talks about how much she misses you." I told her letting her know how special she was to Ashlynn.

"I miss her too. It took everything in me to be ohkay with her coming to live here. She needed to get away from home though. There was nothing good for her there. Just please don't hurt her Harry. I know typical best friend speech. But this Kendall business that's going on. It needs to end and quick. Ashlynn is one to wait around. Then again..she shouldn't have to after all the shit she's been through." she told me.

"You're right. I'm going to end it all soon enough. Don't worry. I think I love her Jayci..is that crazy?" I asked her now feeling very vulnerable.

"No..Ashlynn is easy to love. She makes you feel special..she just has that affect on people. I always call her my sunshine. She just brightens my days..all the time. She's been there for me for as long as I can remember. I don't have any siblings. She is my sister. She's my everything." she told me.

"It's like she's the light I see in my darkness. I know everything is going to be ohkay if I have her..no matter what. " I told her now tearing up again realizing the love I had for this girl.

We sat in silence taking in what I just said. Then Jayci spoke.

"She's your moon." Jayci said causing me to shoot my head up at her words.

"That's exactly what she is...she's my moon. " I told her astonished and pleased with her words.
