Late

we walk in her bed room. she lays on the bed peacefully.
'' louis, how will we carry her'' the doctor asks
'' i get the legs and you get the arms''
'' uhhh thats not going to work'' i state ''put her in that blanket and carry the blanket, like a hammock''
'' you know'' he says smiling pointing his finger at me ''thats not a bad idea. okay doc, wrap her in the sheet, make sure there is a hole so she can breathe''
'' okay'' she says doing that same thing.
they twist the ends of the sheet and make handles
'' are we ready?'' i ask
'' yeah'' louis says '' boy, get in the back and watch and Lucy, steer us from the front''
we nod our heads and go to our places.

We start to walk down the stairs as the docter asks a question
'' how far ling is she?''
'' excuse me?'' he replies
'' you know her due date''
'' ohhhhhhhh...'' he chirps '' March. March the first''
'' she is only... a week away'' Thomas whispers
'' yeah, no shit. i know how to do math you know''
'' I cant even fucking talk without you making a comeback!''
'' chill out fuck-wad!'' i scream '' if you dont like him, just ignore him!''
'' easy for you to say, he loves you!''
'' and your complaining that he makes annoying comebacks''
'' hey, we all had a rough week so chill out!'' Dr. vandore yells '' now i was asking Louis a question, let him answer me!''
'' thank you doctor. anyway, her due date is in a week''
'' shit!''
''what?''
'' do you understand, maybe just a little, how the medical world works?''
'' uhh... what do you mean?''
'' i mean, you need a specialist to deliver a baby!''
'' i know''
'' and im not''
he looks at her shocked
'' but you can still deliver the baby, right?''
she pauses ''... do you have ultrasound pictures? ''
''let me get them''
my stomach drops as he sets her back down on the bed and runs to get the pictures
'' where are they!'' he yells running back in the room
''uhh, these were on the floor'' i say pulling them out of my pocket '' in the hallway, i was going to give them back but forgot''
thomas looks at me with the 'look' saying that he knows i lied
'' oh.. thank you, Lucy'' he gently takes them out of my hands and gives it to Dr. vandore
'' here are the pictures. before liam died, i went to america to get these pictures done. she was the best at making these pictures. i went to SWI Diagnostics. it was a really fun experience!''
she glances at the ultrasound pictures
''oh my god...''
