Late

Louis looks deep in her eyes and shakes his head
" we can do this, we need to get her across town"
" wait, wait" Thomas says " what about food? When was the last time this woman ate?"
" When was the last time we ate?" I join in
" ok guys listen, I have a cellar and in there I hid food for when we had to throw away all of it"
" how much do you have?" Thomas asks
" enough, too much to carry it all. We might as well eat now then take the body and find more food later"
" I believe that the hospital has a little bit of cafeteria food still left in it" Dr. Vandore puts her hand out as she talks
" let's go" Louis leads everyone out the door as I stop them from going in the door way
" how far long is she pregnant?"
" no need to talk now, we must eat"
he continues to walk down to the cellar.

The cellar stairs were concrete. Windows at the top of the room let in light.
"Here it is"
he walks over to plastic boxes, opens one, and pulls food out of it. He was holding gummies on one hand and and tossed packs to me and Thomas. I pop some into my mouth as it's fresh flavour floods my mouth. My taste buds dance to the gummies. It felt like Its been so long without food. And now we have it.
