I walk along the sidewalk to my house down the street from my school. It's dark outside and the clouds swarm above my head. My book-bag sags off my shoulder as I walk closer and closer home. I look in the distance at the black-gray sky and see the crows fly off if the shadowy trees.
I climb up the many stairs of my house. I walk in to my family surrounding the tv.
"…It has spread to certain parts of Europe." the man said on the tv.
"What is he tal…" I try to say but my mum stops me in the middle if my sentence.
"Quiet down, Lucy. We're trying to watch"
"But watch what?"
She pauses the tv and gives me the "angry" look.
" well, if you'd listen that you would have found out"
She grabs the remote again and presses "play".
"I have homework to do" I say quietly running up staires.
