Chapter 32
Commissioner Gordon's POV: I'm sitting on top of this building that faces the harbor. If everyone else is turning themselves in, I'm sure Bruce will, too. "Gordon, we're gonna let the kid, Damian, go." Harvey says over the walkie talkie. I didn't mind, he was probably only 10. Then I see it. The Batwing. Bruce Wayne is coming, but I want to be the one who meets him. I flash a mini Batsignal, and Bruce comes in for a landing. He came out of the Batwing, and walked up to me. "Jim. I'm sorry, but you have to understand-" "No, Wayne, you don't understand. Barbara was my daughter, and just a kid. You should've at least let me know." I said, cutting him off. Bruce squinted his eyes. In his costume, you could hardly tell his identity. His eyes fell sympathetic, though. "I didn't make her-" "But you knew." I cut him off again. Bruce put his head down. "Please, let me taks full responsibility. Don't let Dick, Tim, or Damian get into any trouble." He asked. I didn't respond, but he knew I wasn't going to. Not to those kids. Bruce took a step towards me, but I backed up. I didn't want him touching me. Another step. I backed up. Another step. I backed up. The sky was dark, and the moon was full. Another step. My foot slipped. I was at the edge, and losing my balance. I tried to catch myself, but I couldn't and fell. However, I didn't fall far. I looked up and noticed Bruce was holding onto my hand. "Let me help you, Jim." He said, and I complied. When I had two feet on the building, I must of accidentaly made Bruce trip, and over the edge he went. THUD. That damned noise again. The sound of a body hitting pavement. I looked doen, and saw his body all mangled and broken. Batman was over. Everything was over.
Notes
Is everything over? What will become of a Gotham without Batman... or Bruce Wayne? This is Scarlet, hope you liked it
