Half A Heart
Chapter 7.
I Got home from the park and saw Sandy standing in the kitchen making dinner. She was cutting tomatoes.
" I Named him." I smiled.
" What is it?"
I picked Blue up.
" Blue."
She leaned against the counter.
" Why Blue?"
" I don't know. He just looks like a... Blue." I shrugged. She grinned.
" Well I love it." She stepped foward and pet him. " Hey Booboos." She said in her dog voice. I laughed.
" Booboos?"
" You know.. A nickname. Blue without the L." She chuckled, making me laugh,
I sat Blue Down and leaned against the counter. Sandy turned around and began chopping away.
" I saw Harry."
Sandy stopped cutting again.
" Did you speak to him?" She asked. I nodded.
" Of course I did. Then his fiancé called and he had to leave."
Sandy plucked at in imaginary peice of fuz on her sleeve.
" I'm sorry M."
I sighed. I didn't want anyone's pity.
" Me too. I just can't believe he's engaged." I ran my hands through my hair.
" Hey, Let's not stress over something we can't change."
" But see, what if I can change it! What if I could somehow get Harry to break off the engangment? People break off engagements all the time."
Sandy sighed .
" Babe, that's possible but not likely. How about tomorrow, me and you go out, and have the time of our lives. Maybe we'll both end up taking someone home." She winked.
Sandy was right. I needed someone new in my life.
" Alright."
" I Named him." I smiled.
