Half A Heart

My bladder pressed against my stomach. I really had to pee. Its 8:00 and I haven't gotten out of bed since the hospital trip. Harry has come up here multiple times to try and comfort me but I just pushed him away.

I stood up and walked to the bathroom.

After I did my business I decided I wanted to run to Kelly's and get some bagels.

I put my coat on at the door.

" Maria? Baby where are you going?" Harry stood up from the couch and walked to me. I shrugged.

" I need some air." I whispered.

" Do you want me to come with you?" He asked. I rolled my eyes.

" Harry, what part of ' I need some air' don't you understand?" I snapped. I didn't mean for the words to come out that harshly, but they did.

He stepped back.

" Fine."

He looked away from me and back to the tv. I stood there and stared at him for a moment before twisting the doorknob and leaving the house.

I sipped some tea before spreading cream cheese onto a bagel.

" If it isn't Maria Summers,"

I looked up at the mention of my name to see Andy. I smiled. Andy.

" Andy? Wow. I haven't seen you since highschool!" I exclaimed. I stood up and embraced him in my arms. It was nice to see some old faces that weren't bring me trouble right now.

" May I?" He motioned towards my seat. I nodded.

" Of course! Be my guest." I smiled. He grinned and sat down infront of me.

" So since when are you back here?" Andy asked. I shrugged.

" I've been back for a couple of months now. "

He nodded.

" Wow. Well you look fantastic." He smiled. My cheeks flushed.

" Thanks. You look great too." I smiled. I bit into my bagel.

" Are you seeing someone at the moment?" He asked me. I Slowly nodded.

" Yeah. Are you?" I asked. He shook his head.

" I'm actually on my way back from the lawyer's office. Just got over a divorce." He sighed. My eyes widened.

" Wow... Andy... I'm so sorry."

He smiled.

" Don't worry about it. She and I are still friends. I guess we just weren't made for eachother." He chuckled. Atleast he was happy.

" Yeahhh," I agreed, thinking about Harry.

" Well, I better run. It was nice catching up with you Maria. Maybe we should get together sometime? For good times sakes." He grinned. I giggled.

" I'd like that."

With that, he grabbed his to-go bag and left the small Café.

I pulled into Harry and I's new drive way. I feel terrible for how I acted earlier.

Im just upset. I'm upset that Julyssa can give him something I can't. I'm upset that I can't give birth to a baby. I will never feel that pregnant woman glow. Yeah there were many options to fix that, but I've never been interested in adopting.

Sure, it's a great thing to do but I've always wanted atleast one baby of my own.

I unlocked our maroon door and stepped inside.

" Hello?" I called out. No answer. He had to be home. His car was in the driveway.

I walked upstairs to our room and saw him curled up in bed. I sighed, dropping my purse in the doorway and climbing in next to him. I wrapped my arm around his waist, being the big spoon.

I loved being the big spoon because I'm so small compared to Harry, I just felt like a back pack on him.

" Babe." I whispered. His eyes fluttered open.

" Yeah?"

" I want to talk." I whispered. Harry rolled over so he could face me.

" I'm so sorry for snapping at you earlier and being a total bi-"

" Sh." He put his finger up to my mouth, silencing me. " You have no reason to apoligize. At all. I totally get why you're acting the way you are. This is a hard thing to get thrown at but we're going to deal with it ok? You and I. We'll make it through this. We can have kids someday. But maybe they just won't be coming out of your body. Or maybe down the road we may be perfectly happy without them. Whatever happens, we are a team, and we need to have eachother's back." He whispered. I love when Harry opened up like this.

My face began to sting, as I was on the verge of crying.

" I love you so much Harry." I cried into his chest. He brought me closer.

" I love you Maria." He kissed my head.

" There's no one else I'd rather be going through this with." My bottom lip quivered as he wiped at my eyes.

" I'm here to stay." He assured. And it was moments like these I knew we had been made for eachother.

I woke up the next morning in the same spot I fell asleep. In Harold's arms.

" Harry." I whispered. He turned and faced away from me. That stubborn little...

" Harry!" I said louder. He was definently not a morning person.

" What?" He asked. I sighed.

" I'm going to go see my mother. Tell her the news." I flopped back down. Harry nodded.

" Are you saying you'd like me to come with you?" He asked. I nodded.

" Well yeah, I'd like it to be the both of us that tell her."

Harry groaned and and got out of bed, moping to the bathroom.
