Half A Heart

I wanted to throw up.

I snapped back into reality and realized that Harry would be a father in nine months and that it would never be the same between him and I ever again.

I backed up and closed the door.

I ran to my room, changing and grabbing my purse.

" Bye Booboos." I blew him a kiss as I left the apartment.

I felt bad because I told Sandy I wanted to go out to dinner for her but I guess now isn't the time.

I pulled up to my mothers house and walked up to the door, walking right in.

I smelled Delicious food from the kitchen.

" Hey mom." I said.

" Oh hey Maria! I haven't spoken to you in a while." She was stirring something in a pot.

" yeah, I've been busy lately."

" What is it dear?"

I guess her motherly instinct could see that I'm feeling down.

From there on, I told her everything. From the time I saw Harry at the park and we named Blue, to Julyssa at the door just now.

" Oh honey. I'm so sorry you had to go through that! You know what, you need some alone time. A break."

" How am I going to do that? I have a roommate, and Crawford is so small I'm bound to run into someone I know."

My mother turned off the stove and put what she was mixing on the counter.

" Why don't you fly to Ireland?" She asked. I thought about it. I could go visit Maura, see my father. I could just get away from it all.

" That actually sounds great right now."

" I'll even pay for your tickets. You were gone for so long, only to come back to this? You deserve it."

I smiled.

" Have I ever told you that I love you and you're the best mom in the world?"

She shrugged and blushed.

" Maybe once or twice."

I laughed,

" alright, so I'll leave tomorrow?"

" First flight there, you got it." She winked. I smiled, kissing her on the cheek goodbye before heading towards home.

• Harry's pov •

I walked up to Maria's door and knocked on it three times, only to be greeted by Sandy. With nothing but a towel wrapped around her torso.

" Hey Harry." She said awkwardly. I wonder if Maria told shed what happened.

" Hey Sandy. Is Maria home? I need to speak with her. " I asked.

she looked a around, taking in a sharp breath.

" You actually just missed her. I don't know where she went either. We were supposed to go out for dinner. She had something really inportant to tell me that apperently happened last night."

she scratched her head.

oh.

" Oh yeah. Well, call me when she gets here."

" will do."

I stuffed my hands in my pockets and backed up, biting my bottom lip.

" Thanks Sandy. See ya."

" See ya."

I walked down the hall to the elavator and pressed the button, waiting for it to open up.

The elavator opened and there stood Maria.

" Maria! There you are!" I stepped inside with her.

" Harry, why didn't you tell me?"

" Tell you what?" I asked. The doors shut.

" That you're going to be a father!" She yelled.

we began moving down.

" Because, first of all, she didn't tell me until I got home from your flat, and second of all, she's lying!" I raised my voice. That only made hers louder.

she sighed, Face palming herself.

" Oh my gosh Harry!"

" What?"

" I need time to think about all of this, because right now, I just don't know. I'm mad because you're mine, and I posses what is mine with everything I have, and the fact that Julyssa might be pregnant with something that belongs to me is terrible. Harry, I love you. But I need space. It's too much right now."

The elevator dinged and the doors opened.

" But Maria-"

" No buts. Harry go."

I sighed.

" Maria, I love you, and this isn't over. We aren't over."

I bent down and kissed Her before walking out of the elevator.
