Chapter 29

The next two days have been going by some what smoothly. It has been incredibly hard for me to keep this new information to myself and Harry couldn't help but notice my apparent mood change. He says I've been acting strange lately, and he is not convinced when I tell him that I am fine. I have been debating on telling Audrey about this, but even though she's my best friend, I know that it wouldn't be a good idea, which leaves me with my last option, my mother. Although my mom and I are close, we've never really had the kind of relationship where I could gossip with her. As much as she wants that, and constantly tells me that she's here if I ever need to talk, I don't feel comfortable with it. I have friends who talk to their mothers about their sex lives and I just find that plain awkward. It's nice having a parent care for you and constantly be there for you, but some times it's a little bit too much, which leaves me to drown in this torturous information alone.

I sigh as I drag myself towards the mirror, my makeup scattered along my desk waiting to be touched. I was going over to Audrey's house tonight to have Christmas Eve dinner with the Butlers. I haven't seen them in months and they have practically been apart of my family my entire life, blood related or not. After applying my makeup, I styled my long brown hair in my usual loose curls. I frowned at myself through the mirror, as I much as I hate the hair salon I desperately needed a hair cut. I walked over to my vibrating phone, the screen flashing with a new iMessage alert. I typed in my passcode as I walked towards my closet, skimming through my clothes while opening the awaiting message.

From: Harry Styles
Busy tonight?

I smiled bigger than I should have and was thankful I didn't have an audience. It still mind blows me to this day how easily he can make me smile, even when it's just a simple two worded text message. I guess that's what love does to you. I felt my smile quickly turn into a frown once I remembered my plans with the Butlers.

To: Harry Styles
Going to Audrey's house for dinner to catch up with her family :(

I hit send and tossed my phone onto my bed, bringing my attention back to the clothes hanging in my closet. It's funny, because the majority of the time I'm texting Harry, I always find myself staring at my phone screen until I see the bubble pop up, telling me that he is writing. I laugh quietly to myself, at how pathetic and love struck I am. My phone buzzes behind me, making me smile at how fast he replied, but I force myself to pick out an outfit before I hurry back to my phone. After running my fingertips across the many different clothes hanging off of the hangers, I settle with a pair of high waisted black skinny jeans, my cream coloured sweater and my Docs. After changing into my clothes and securing my docs underneath my arm, I open my awaiting text message as I walk down the stairs.

From: Harry Styles
Let me take you. What time do you have to be there for?

I felt my heart pick up in speed. Audrey didn't live far from me at all, and Harry knew that. His sweet gesture is his way of showing me that he wants to see me just as much as I want to see him. Although the offer is just a waste of gas, I agree to it and tell him to come whenever he wants so we can spend some time with each other before. I drop my docs by the front door and make my way towards the kitchen to make a fresh pot of coffee. As the coffee brews, I take out a bag of Sweet Chili Mini Rice cakes, knowing Harry loves them just as much as I do. He hasn't replied back telling me when he will be coming, but I assume he'll just show up whenever he decides to like he normally does. The mouth watering caffeine scent fills the house and I smile in content, reaching in the cabinet for my "E" mug. I turn off the coffee pot and make my way towards my mothers vintage vinyl player, placing The Beatles Rubble Soul record down to play. I shimmy my way towards the counter as the sound of I'm Looking Through You fills the house. I smile and sing along, stirring the milk and sugar in my coffee before taking a sip. Because of the music, I didn't hear my phone vibrate, so I was thankful when I saw it light up beside me telling me I have a new iMessage from Harry.

From: Harry Styles
I'm looking through you...'re front door. It's cold outside, hurry.

I almost chocked on my coffee as my laughter filled the room. I set my mug aside and made my way towards the front door, my smile sewn onto my lips. I opened the door to a shivering Harry, yet a playful smirk still managed to play at the corners of his plump lips.

"Well, aren't you cute." I giggle as he walks through the door and places a soft kiss on my lips.

"Classic." He smiles, sliding off his jacket and shoes. His lips move along with the lyrics and I watch as he slides across the hardwood floor in his black socks. I laugh and follow behind him, careful to not interfere in his air guitar strumming. I stand behind him and place my hands on his broad shoulders, carefully directing him into the kitchen.

"Fuck yeah! Rice cakes." He grins while taking a seat and shoving his hand into the bag. I smile as I walk around the counter to take a sip of my steaming hot coffee, keeping my eyes on the happy boy sitting across from me. He licks his lips and reaches one hand across the counter to hold onto my free one.

"So if you have to be there for 6, that gives us a good forty minutes." He smirked, as he let go of my hand to reach for my coffee mug. I rolled my eyes at him and swatted his free hand, causing him to throw his head back in laughter. I couldn't help but laugh along as his face broke into a smug grin. He continued to raise my steaming mug to his lips before sliding it back over to me. I glared down at my now half empty mug before looking back up at him. He chuckled quietly, his eyes gleaming and his soft dimples indenting his cheeks. I picked up my mug and made my way back around the counter, watching as his hand returned to the bag. I settled myself in the stood beside him and watch as he grimaced in disgust.

"As much as I like coffee and these crisps, they're not a very good mix.." He scrunched his nose up but continued to bring handfuls up to his mouth. I laughed and scooted my chair closer to him, placing my small hand onto his thigh.

"I guess I can't kiss you now." I pouted as I leaned forward, lingering my lips millimetres away from his. He briefly paused, before crashing his lips against my own. I smiled into the kiss but soon felt my nose scrunch up in disgust as his tongue found my own. I slowly pulled away, groaning in frustration. He smirked, his lips softly brushing against mine.

"Told you." He murmured against my lips before chuckling to himself. I rolled my eyes, walking back around the counter to rinse my mug in the sink. I watched him crumple the now empty rice cake bag into a ball before standing and walking towards the garbage. I filled my clean mug with cold water and chugged it before making my way up the stairs. The sound of The Beatles continued to fill my house, but became slightly distant once I walked into my room. I smile as I watch Harry's body flop down onto my bed, his face now hidden in my pillows. I quietly walk towards the end of my bed and raise my hand, smacking it down hard on his behind. He groaned out in pain and rolled over onto his back, his bright eyes blazing up at me.

"So you like spanking? I'll have to keep that in mind." He quipped playfully, a devilish smirk taunting his lips. I turned around quickly so he couldn't see the blush that was rushing to my cheeks. I knelt down onto the ground and fumbled with things in my closet, keeping myself occupied until the heat left my cheeks. I could hear Harry's laughter coming from behind me, which only caused my body to continue painting my face red. A gasp came from my lips once my hands came across my old yearbook. I grinned and pulled it out, before laying down on my bed.

"What's that?" He asked, his body rolling over onto his side so he can get a better look. His eyes widened and his hand reached over my body to grab it once he realized what it was. I shook my head and smirked at him, repositioning my body so he couldn't grab ahold of the book.

"Fuck, I don't even want to see." He dragged his hands down his face and I heard a light groan reverberate from behind me. I smiled, knowing Harry wasn't a big fan on pictures. I continued to flip through the pages before stopping on the graduates page. It had each students picture from each year of high school lined up beside their graduating photo. I bit down onto my lip, mentally cursing at myself for not searching for this sooner. I ran my fingertips down the initials of last names, until I eventually hit Styles. My face broke into a grin and another groan came from behind me, as I stared down at his freshman photo.

"Oh my gosh." I giggled quietly, squinting as I brought the book closer to my face. It's crazy to look at this now, because as awkward and young as he looks, I remember so clearly having a crush on him at this time. I moved my eyes farther along to look at his sophomore and then junior photo, my smile widening if that was even possible. Lastly, I stared down at his senior graduating photo, his smile wide, his curls hidden behind the large graduation cap. His dimples indenting small holes in his cheeks and his green eyes glistening in the light. He looked incredibly attractive, and looked only a tad different from the guy who was sitting behind me. The minute I turned my head around, the book was snatched from my hands. I frowned once I saw Harry run his finger down the page before stopping at my name. I whined and hid my face in my hands, horrified when I think back to my freshman year photo. His low chuckles came from beside me and I groaned before knocking the book out of his hands.

"We should probably leave now." I frowned when I noticed the smirk that was plastered on his lips. I rolled my eyes and shoved the yearbook back into my closet before walking out of my room. Strong arms were suddenly wrapped around my waist from behind, lifting me as he walked down the stairs. I fought back my smile as my body was gently turned around once we hit the last step. He placed his finger underneath my chin before tilting it up. As I looked into his green eyes, I found myself getting lost at how stunningly beautiful he was. He had no idea how attractive he was, and I had trouble understanding how. His lips were pressed firmly against mine, but were drawn back before I could properly respond. His gaze travelled down to his watch before looking back up at me.

"5:47, not bad." He gave me another small kiss before unwrapping his arms from around my body.

I turned off the vinyl player before walking towards the front foyer. I tied up my docs and slid on my black peacoat, watching as Harry did the same. His car keys were placed in his large hand as he walked outside and into the cold air. I slid through the door behind him and locked it before carefully walking down my icy front steps. I was met with Harry as he stood with the passenger door open, waiting for me to get in. I smiled and pecked his lips before reaching for my seatbelt. My door was quickly closed only for his to be opened seconds later. He rubbed his hands together and put the keys in the ignition, setting the heat on high before backing out of the driveway. As much as I loved the winter, I hated how it always got so dark out, so early. The soft music from the radio filled the short car ride and I smiled once I felt Harry place his hand on my thigh. I rested my left hand over his and brought my gaze towards the window, watching as the other cars and all of the city lights passed by in a quick blur. My attention was quickly turned to my lap once I felt my phone vibrate.

From: Audrey Butler
I'm really sorry Em, I promise I had no idea...

My brows furrowed together in confusion as I read the text over and over. Why was she apologizing? As I was in the middle of typing back, I felt the car come to a halt. I gasped as the grip on my thigh tightened painfully, my head snapping up to look at Harry. His prominent jawline was clenched tight, his eyes focused directly ahead. I clawed at his fingers, trying to get him to loosen his grip but it only made his grip tighten underneath my small fingers. I watched in confusion as his breathing picked up in speed. His lips were pressed into a hard line and each of his perfect features were gradually hardening. His head moved painfully slow, to look over at me. A hard glare took over his face as his dark eyes burned into mine.

"What is he doing here?" His question came out more of a demand, leaving me even more confused. Who? Just as I was about to open my mouth to question him, I saw the car that was parked in Audrey's driveway. It was Seth's car.

Is it possible to see both Emma's and Harry's P.O.V? Sometimes you don't know what the other is thinking so it would nice to see both.
