Midnight Memories(Louis Tomlinson)

The Aftermath

The party went smoothly, well as smoothly as possible when you want to rip the father of your sons head off. Things with Louis and I had been off for almost a year now. Ever since the rumors started. I never thought I would have to worry about him when he was on tour. I never thought that my trust would be broken, but it was. He hid it well at first, and then he started to get sloppy. Pictures were posted, the rumors were spread. While the tabloids did their best to tear Louis down, I got my heart broken.
We were civil, for Camden's sake. He was young, too young to understand. During the day(if he's around), we're a “family” for our son. During the night, he sneaks off to whatever slag he has warming his bed at the moment.

I turned the corner as Louis was tucking Camden into bed. “Goodnight buddy.” I heard him say. “Goodnight, daddy. I love you.” I smiled to myself. Things were almost normal. Almost.

Louis came out of the room and looked at me, a small chuckle left his lips. “Wow, you look horrible.”

“Do you always have to be a complete ass?” I snapped turning to walk away.

“Only when you're around.” He sneered, following me down to the kitchen and pulling the kettle out for some tea, while I started to clean up the mess from the birthday party.

I had a few words for him, but I kept them to myself. “Thank you for keeping your promise.” I saw him stiffen and turn to look at me.

“I didn't do it for you.” was all he said.

I shook my head continuing to put the paper plates and plastic cups into a trash bag. “I'm just glad I didn't have to listen to him cry himself to sleep because his father let him down, again.” Louis turned to look at me, opening his mouth to speak until he realized I wasn't finished. “I'm not saying you're a bad father Louis, because you're not. I know how much you love that little boy, and I know how much he loves you. I just wish you would figure your shit out before someone else gets hurt.”

The room was silent until the kettle went off. Louis turned around, pouring the water into his cup and stirring it without saying a word. I was expecting some sort of witty comment or insult, but I got nothing. “I have a shoot on Monday, maybe you could take Cam and spend the day with him? Go to the park and kick the ball around or something?”

Louis shrugged, sipping on his tea. “I'll have to see if I'm free.”

I nodded slowly, putting the last of the trash in the bag and tying it. “Well just let me know so I can see if your mum will watch him while I'm gone.”

Louis shrugged, putting his empty cup in the sink before heading to the door. “I better get going, I've got plans tonight.”

I watched him as he walked, he was a complete stranger to me. “Make sure you use protection.” I spat as I started the dishes.

“Always do. Wouldn't want another accident.” I heard him laugh as he closed the door behind him.
Louis has said a lot of mean things to me in the last few months, but nothing ever cut as deep as those words did. Camden was an accident, but he was an accident I wouldn't take back for anything. I gripped the counter top, trying to stop myself from crying. When did everything get so messed up? Louis and I were so in love. All of our dreams were coming true, and we were sharing them with one another. What went wrong?

It was snowing, the first snow of the season. I of course, was as excited as a kid in a candy store. “Louis!” I cheered, jumping on the bed and awakening him from his slumber. “It's snowing!”

He groaned. “You are crazy woman, I am trying to sleep.” I crawled onto him in the straddle position, placing my hands on his chest and lowering my face to his.

He kissed my nose and I giggled, scrunching up my face. “Can we please go play in the snow?” I begged, planting kisses along his jawline, neck and collar bone.

Louis ran his hands down my sides and sighed. “Fine, fine. We can go play in the snow.”

We were outside for hours. We had a snowball fight, made a snowman and snow angels. It was the perfect day.

“Come on you goof.” Louis laughed “Let's go in and I'll make us some hot cocoa with those little marshmallows you love so much.”

“Okay!” I cheered as I made my way to the front door. Stripping of my wet clothes as Louis made his way to the kitchen to make the cocoa.

We sat and talked and drank and laughed. Everything was perfect. I was sat with my head resting on Louis shoulder, laughing at my favorite Christmas movie. I looked up to see Louis just staring at me, smiling. “What?” I questioned.

He just smiled, lifting my chin and kissing me softly. “I love you.” was all he said.

I wander back to that moment a lot, the first time Louis told me he loved me. How happy we were. I wanted desperately to go back to that moment, to stay there forever. No heartbreak, just love.

Notes

I know the chapters are a bit short, but I'm still not 100% sure where I'm going with this at the moment. Don't worry though, they'll get longer.
I hope you're enjoying what I have so far. :)

Comments

please update!!!!! :)

Filler? I think it was a great chapter. Next few chapters? Well I think it would be funny to watch Louis squirm in interviews when he has to fall on his sword for how he treated Mel. Usually the girls get the hate but maybe he should get a little backlash lol.
