Chapter 22

Arianna's P.O.V.

What the hell am I doing?

This guy on top of me, kissing me right now is my bestfriend AND is also my other bestfriend's husband.

Why are we doing this? Why am I still kissing him back?

Questions ran through my head so fast that I felt dizzy. These questions were interrupted by a sudden knock.

We pulled away suddenly and I freaked out because he was still on top of me so I pushed him off me and he landed on the hard floor with a thud.

"Ow! What was that for?" he complained.

I was about to scream at him, "Really? We were making out when you have a wife and you ask that?"

When he winked. His wink wasn't mischievious like the usual, in fact his eyes were very troubled and shocked.

I realized he was just acting to keep anyone from knowing what just happened.

"I just felt like it." I replied trying to be nonchalant.

Edward and Jasper came in and stared at us.

Emmett and I exchanged glances. We had the same thought. We're doomed.

I tried thinking of explanations.

Maybe we won't be doomed. Edward can't read my mind and as long as Emmett keeps what happened out of his head then we're safe.

Oh wait. Jasper can feel our emotions. Crap!

Maybe he didn't pay any attention to our emotions or something.

I looked at Jasper and all my hopes died.

Jasper is looking at as with shock written all over his face.

I turned my gaze back to Edward preparing myself for the accusation because surely Jasper told him mentally right?

I felt so guilty. How can I do this to Rosalie?

Edward finally broke the awkward silence. "Arianna can we talk? Privately."

I flinched. Here we go. I glanced at Emmett again and he looked worried. "Sure let's go."
I tried to keep my voice from squeaking and failed miserably.

He frowned at this. He went across the room towards the window then turned to me. "Shall we?"

I nodded, not trusting myself to speak.

I jumped out of the window after him. I already knew where we're going so I quickly overtook him and reached the meadow half a second before he did.

I turned to face him. Ok let's get this over with. "What do you want?"
That came out harsher than it was meant to be and he looked hurt.
"Sorry I didn't mean that to be harsh. It's just my emotion."

He laughed humorlessly. "You're amazing you know that? I'm the one who hurt and insulted you and you're the one saying sorry."

I rolled my eyes. I just want to get it over with. Why can't he just accuse me of making out with Emmett when I perfectly knew that he was with Rosalie. "What did you want to talk to me about?" I said in a much nicer tone.

"Well. I just wanted to apologize." he looked down at his shoes.

"It was unacceptable for me to say all of those things. I was just really frustrated and mad that's why I took it all out on you. Arianna I didn't mean any of those things and I'll understand if you never forgive me." he looked up to meet my eyes and he looked so hurt and vulnerable at the moment that I felt like I killed his puppy or something.

His eyes are glassy and it seemed like he was gonna cry even though I knew that he can't.
My heart broke and I knew that I couldn't stay mad at him.

I pulled him in a hug and he as frozen with surprise. "Oh Edward. I forgive you." I cried.

"Thank you. I know that I don't deserve your forgiveness. So thank you." he whispered gratefully.

I pulled away from the hug and took his face in both of my hands making sure he was looking at me. "No. You did deserve my forgiveness. You apologized and that's what matters."

"Thank you."

He smiled then frowned. "I know this isn't the time but can we talk more over dinner?"

I was surprised but said yes.

We ran back to the house together and we found everyone seated in the leaving room. They looked at our closeness and smiled.

"I assume you two made up?" Esme asked her grin widening.

We nodded at the same time.

They all smiled.

"We still have to do something about James." Alice piped up ruining the happy mood.

Edward and I sat down on the love seat. He turned to look at me. "Arianna you said something about having a solution?"

I sat up straighter. "Yes I do." I said proudly.

Everyone suddenly looked interested.

"I haven't told you guys before, only Rosalie and Emmett. So I'm very sorry for keeping this from you." I said apologetically.

There was a chorus of "What is it?" in the room.

I'll just come right out and say it no need for stalling. "I can control the four elements." I said.

There were gasps from everyone except Rosalie and Emmett.

"Seriously?" Alice asked.

"Yeah."

"How do you know?" Edward asked.

I narrowed my eyes. "Because I tried it."

"Can you show us?" Carlisle asked me his eyes curious. I knew that he wasn't asking that because he didn't believe me, he asked that because he just wanted to see it. He was merely curious.

"Of course."

I stood up and went to the front of the room so they could all see me.

I held out my palm and summoned water. They all gasped when a ball of water appeared in my hand. I closed my hand around it and it disappeared. Then I pointed my pointer finger at Edward and fire shot out of y finger and went straight to Edward. He looked scared for a moment before he ran to Bella's side. I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing when I made the fire follow him. He ran around the room trying to get away from the fire and everyone was laughing.

I laughed with them. "Edward it's not going to hurt you. Just stop and stay still."

He slowed down but didn't stop running.

I sighed "Fine you want proof? I'll give you proof."

I flicked my finger and Edward was suddenly on fire.

His eyes widened and he ran to the kitchen. We followed him to see what he was doing.
I laughed. He actually thought he can get rid of it? He was putting water all over his body. He looked so idiotic and crazy that everyone started laughing.

It took him a moment to realize that he wasn't feeling any pain at all. He stared at me. "How come I don't feel any pain?"

I walked back to the living room and they all trailed after me. Edward came in last, still on fire.

"Because. I control the elements Edward. It's my choice if I want it to hurt you or not." I explained.

"Oh" they all said.

"So anyway back to the main topic, Edward mentioned that you can kill a vampire by ripping them to pieces and burning them. I'll use all of the elements to hold him in one place and you guys can rip him to pieces and I'll use fire on him." I said.

All of their eyes brightened at this.

"That's a really good plan Arianna! It's easier than hunting him and it's not dangerous." Carlisle exclaimed.

I smiled proudly. "Thank you."

"But how will we get him? You have to be near to use your powers right?" Alice pointed out.

I smiled deviously. "Don't worry I've got that covered."

They all raised their eyebrows questioningly.

"What are you going to do?" Edward questioned.

"I'm going alone. I'll call you guys when it's your time to come." I explained.

"What?" they exploded standing up. Even Emmett who stayed quiet the whole time.

"But you might get hurt!" Edward countered.

"Edward I'm capable of taking care of myself. And I don't need fighting practice at all." I reassured.

They sat back down satisfied but still a little bit worried.

I stood up. "Well I'm on my way."

They all took turns giving me hugs and saying good luck. When Emmett's turn came he looked hesitantly at me. But trying to keep the secret hidden, we tried our best to act normal.

"Go kick butt Ari." he smiled hugging me.

I laughed. "I will."

I ran out into the forest.

I smelt James and Victoria's scent. It smelled fresh so they must have heard me coming and left. I sniffed and I knew that they were just hiding, ready to bolt if they need to.

"James! Victoria!" I called out. "Don't be afraid. I'm alone. I want to help you get Bella."

Suddenly they were beside me.

"Why would you help us?" James sneered.

"Easy. Because I hate Bella. Ever since she came, Edward has been too busy with her to notice me." I said bitterly. I didn't really have to try that hard to act like I'm jealous, since I am jealous.

He raised an eyebrow. "You like Edward?"

"Yes. I've liked him ever since I met him." I sighed sadly. "I tried hinting it but he's too preoccupied with Bella to notice."

"How do we know that this isn't a trap?" Victoria asked cautiously.

"Well you don't. It's your choice to either believe me or not." I replied. "But I can help you a lot."

I made twirling motions with my finger and water shot out of the tips of my finger. I played with it for a moment, while Victoria and James stared in amazement.

"Wha- How?" James stuttered.

"It's my power. I am able to control the weather and the elements." I explained.

"That's amazing. You are absolutely useful." Victoria mused.

"I agree. We will team up with you to hunt the human girl." James smiled menacingly.

"Great. I cannot wait to see Bella's face." I smirked.

Ok they trust me.

"Wait. Where do the Cullen's think you are?" James suddenly asked.

"I told them that I business to attend to." I answered.

He nodded. "What's our plan?"

"Well, I think that we should get closer to the house. As much as possible anyway. Just in hearing distance because I'm sure that they'll be making plans by now." I said.

Victoria raised an eyebrow suspicious. "They'll be making plans without you?"

"Yes. They think that there might be a fight and they don't want me fighting because I have no experience in fighting." I explained.

"That's understandable I guess." Victoria nodded.

"Ok enough chit chat. Let's go." James said impatiently.

We sneaked closer to the house. They sniffed around every 10 seconds to know if there are any Cullens' near by.

We finally got as close to the house as possible. It's time to make my move.

I used my powers to surround them with fire.

They immediately turned on me.

"What is the meaning of this?" James hissed.

I laughed. "Do you honestly think that I'll betray my family like that?"

Victoria started snarling. "How dare you! How dare you trick us?!"

I smiled shrugging.

James tried to touch the fire and pulled his blackened hand back. He turned to me once again. "Why is this so hot? It's too hot even for fire. It feels like it's as hot as the sun. I've felt fire before and it's nothing compared to this."

I smirked. "I am able to control the elements. Therefore I am able to control their temperature, speed and form. I can make the temperature of that fire to be even hotter than the sun. I can make the air very cold. Colder than the coldest block of ice. I can control the earth. So technically I can control the nature. I can change the form of the elements. I can make this fire look like a fire dragon that can easily devour you. And I can also decide who it hurts. I can decide whether the fire can hurt Victoria and not you James. And vice versa." I laughed ruthlessly.

"Edward, Emmett, Jasper! It's time." I called out.

A minute later the three of them were standing beside me staring openmouthed at the flames surrounding James and Victoria.

"Cool." Emmett breathed.

Victoria and James started spitting and snarling at us.

I just laughed. I turned to my brothers, "Do we really need to rip them to bits? I can just burn them."

"That's true. But it's safer to rip them." Edward replied quietly. Too quiet for the two to hear but loud enough for the three of us to hear.

"Okey dokey. Go in now." I gestured to the flames.

The three of them stared incredulously at me.

I sighed. "The flames won't hurt you. Didn't I prove that in the house?"

They glanced at each other then with a look of determination the walked towards the circle of flames.

Jasper looked back at me before going in the circle. "Ari don't look at us. Just use your powers but don't look."

I gulped before nodding. I turned away. Thank goodness Jasper told me to not look because I would've looked. I would've witnessed the gruesome scene.

I used my powers to make Victoria and James feel like they're burning so they won't fight back as much. Then I used the earth element to make vines sprout out of the soil and constrict their arms to their body. I turned around to see if it worked and I saw them trying to break the vines. I chuckled. Do they honestly think they can break that? They should know by now since I gave them the short speech about my powers.

Jasper gave me a look when he met my gaze so I turned around again. That look told me that they'll be starting.

I covered my ears when I heard Victoria's screams. A minute later James joined her, screaming. I sat on the ground and put my head between my knees tightly trying to block out their screams.

Yes Victoria and James are horrible but I find it repulsive that someone is actually getting ripped and burned to pieces right now. It disgusts me and I really wanted to throw up.

It reminded me of....No I vowed to myself to never think about that gruesome and horrifying day.

I squeezed my eyes tightly trying to block out the images that suddenly flashed before my eyes. Damn! Why did I have to think about that?

Suddenly I felt a hand on my knee and I flinched.

"Ari it's me." a soothing voice said.

I opened my eyes to see Edward sitting in front of me. He looked concerned.

I felt Jasper and Emmett's presence gone.

I only felt his presence.

He undid my tight hold around my knees and made me relax. "Ssshhh Ari I'm here it's ok. You're safe now." he comforted.

He pulled me onto his lap and and started rubbing my back comfortingly.

And for the first time since the...incident when I was human, I felt truly safe.

But two questions crossed my mind.

Will I truly be safe forever? Or will history repeat itself one day?

Oooooooh What did you think happened to her?

Now that the danger had passed what do you think will happen to Edward and Arianna now?
