Chapter 17
Arianna's P.O.V.
I clipped on the rose hair clip for the last touch. There. I patted my dress. This outfit is perfect. It doesn't look too dressy or too casual. It's just right. Just right for Bella's visit.

I heard Edward pull in the driveway. I looked out the window.
Ah! There she is. Clinging on Edward. I thought Edward doesn't like clingy girls. Oh and look at her plain outfit. Ugh what does Edward see in her? I thought bitterly.
Then I realized what I was thinking.
'Arianna Cullen! Stop this. When have you ever been so rude? Where are the manners your parents taught you? Be nice to Bella when she comes.' I scolded myself.
I heard Edward introducing Bella to Carlisle and Esme.
"Where are Alice, Jasper and Alice?" I heard Edward ask.
I heard gasps. I guess Alice is downstairs now.
I sighed 'How come Rosalie and Emmett are on a trip? They're supposed to be here to support me.'
Only Rosalie and Emmett know about my crush on Edward. I think Alice is getting suspicious. Jasper and the others are clueless. Rose and Emmett are my best friends now.
I sighed again and started going downstairs slowly.
The others turned once I reached the last step.
"Hey guys." I greeted, forcing a smile.
Be nice.
I walked slowly towards Bella and Edward. Standing side by side.
Do they have to be that close? I thought with disdain.
"Hi Bella. Nice to see you." I held out my hand in a friendly gesture.
Her eyes widened. She's not used to me being nice to her.
What? Does she honestly think I'll be rude to her in front of my family? I have too much respect for them to be like that.
She hesitantly shook my hand. "Hi nice to see you too." she said with a small smile.
I saw a glint of hope in her eyes and I kind of felt sorry for her.
I can see that she was hoping that we'll accept her as a family and I guess I was the spark that started it.
I smiled at Edward. "Hey Eddie nice to see you home."
I reached out hugging him and kissing him on the cheek.
"Hey! Don't call me that." he complained.
"Why not? Eddie?" I taunted.
He growled playfully and I knew that in a few seconds that I"ll have to start running.
Wrong day to wear heels and a dress. Although it's not as good as jeans, I can still run comfortably in my current clothes.
I slowly backed away.
"Edward." Alice warned even though she knew that Edward and I are just joking around.
I counted to 3 seconds in my head before I turned tail and ran.
I can feel Edward right on my heels so I sped up leaving him behind.
He may be the fastest in the family, but that was before I came along.
I laughed. "Do you really think you can catch me Eddie?"
My laughter was heard throughout the house.
"Don't break anything!" Esme called after us.
"Don't worry we won't." I answered. Then added "Well I won't." I emphasized the I.
I was running around the kitchen room with him chasing me.
I heard Alice speak to Bella. "Sorry about them. This happens like every 5 minutes they're together. Arianna always taunts him and they always end up like in this situation." she explained.
"Oh." Bella choked out.
I felt bad. Bella is supposed to spend time with Edward today, he shouldn't be spending time with me right now.
I stopped laughing and ran back in the living room.
Suddenly coming to a stop behind Jasper.
Edward, surprised by the sudden stillness in the room also stopped.
He turned to look at me....Well to look at Jazz since I was behind him. Jasper's tall and a bit burly frame completely covered me.
"Do you surrender Ari?" Edward asked calling me by my nickname.
"No! I absolutely do NOT surrender!" I said with indignation. I stepped away from Jasper and into Edward's view. "But don't you think it's VERY rude to abandon your guest?"
I look pointedly in Bella's direction then back at him.
His eyes widened and he turned to Bella. "I am so sorry Bella.I just got caught up and-" he broke off and turned accusingly at me.
"She started it!" he said childishly pointing at me. He pouted.
"Very mature Edward. Very mature." I rolled my eyes.
I walked over to Bella and whispered in her ear. "If he's annoying you, just stick a lollipop in his mouth and he'll be quiet." I whispered really quietly so only Bella would hear.
She laughed. "Thanks I'll keep that in mind."
"What did you tell her?" Edward asked suspicious.
"Something you don't need to know."
I saw Bella's eyes wander to Edward's piano.
"You play?" Esme inclined my head towards the piano.
"Oh no. But it's so beautiful is it yours?" she asked.
Esme laughed. "No. Edward didn't tell you that he plays?"
"No he didn't. But I should've known I guess." she stared accusingly at Edward, who seemed to think that his shoes are the most important things in the world.
I raised an eyebrow questioningly at Bella.
"Well, Edward can do everything right?" Bella tried explaining.
We laughed.
"Edward I hope weren't showing off." Esme scolded.
"Just a little bit." Edward laughed lightly.
"Well play for her." Esme said.
"But you just said I shouldn't show off." Edward said.
"I'd like to hear you play." Bella said encouragingly.
With a defeated sigh, Edward sat down on the seat and started playing.
Bella moved to his side and listened.
The others started leaving. To give them some privacy I guess.
I stared at them longer.
Bella isn't that bad. I actually kind of like her.
But I still don't think Edward and her would make a good couple.
They're just too different.
But Edward and I on the other hand......
