Chapter 39

Chapter 39:

A thousand things raced through my mind. Starting with where was I? How did I get here? What happened? And what am I wearing?

My head pounded like a drum, just like every hungover person describes. Although I do recall not drinking too much, it apparently had a large effect than intended. Waking up and pushing past my throbbing head, I sensed the comforting feeling of Harry's room. However, much to my dismay, I was not clothed in Harry's shirt like I usually am in this placement. But a thin lace mesh bralette, and by that I mean see through to the point where one small appliqué of lace was covering my chest. Along with matching underwear and a sheer, long sleeve cover up to go with it. Harry was not present in the room and something told me I should probably go search for him.

The halls smelt like the homely scent of musk mixed with a slight zing of liquor. Soft lights flooded in from rooms with windows. It felt heavily, almost like a runway through the clouds.
Most defiantly telling me I wasn't completely sober.

"Paris, wait up!" I turned and crashed into Niall's chest, knocking me back, but caught in the arms of Niall.

Just then Harry walked past and stopped at the scene. "Not cool man." He gritted and started stalking over to us.

"Not what you think," Niall put his arms up in surrender. "I was just going to mention a little something from last night." Harry held his dead glare as Niall didn't show any weakness towards him.

"I wanna show you something, Paris." He glanced over at Niall, "meet me in my room once you two are done. And make it quick." Harry gave me a quick peck on the cheek and continued on.

"Well that could have been worse." I messily ran my hand through my hair.

"Look, I wanna talk about last night. I just have a couple details you'd probably like to know." I nodded and waited for Niall to continue. "If you can remember, at the restaurant there was a male who watched you behind over that table." Niall avoided eye contact and rubbed his neck.

"Well it seems he followed us to the club and somehow managed to get ahold of your number. He may be apart of some gang around here, with purposes another threat. Harry is already on edge about losing him girl and now as well as dealing with this new male and Richard. So please be soft on Harry. Not like you aren't already, but he's super stressed and that's not good." Niall precautioned.

I nodded and followed Harry's instructions to find him in his room. He awaited, angrily scribbling words down on a notepad. "Knock, knock." I plopped myself down on his bed.

"Nope. Not today, we need to talk." Harry threw his chair back, knocking it onto the ground and approached me. Picking me up bridal style and carrying me to his desired destination. He brought us up to one if the top floors. And lead me to this black door. "You can do the honors of going first." Harry nudged me in the door.

Inside was a million mirrors and a canopy of rose petals. And just as I turned to Harry, the door slammed and I was enclosed in a circular room of mirrors. My reflections everywhere you could look. "Harry?" I yelled and mentally heard his laugh. But then I did a few quick calculations. "Is this one way glass? Can you see me?" I pressed my face to the glass and tried to look through. Unfortunately I couldn't, but had the feeling someone on the other side was really enjoying my chubby cheeks and nose pressed against the mirror.

I had two things in mind for my situation. 1) Harry is currently on the otherwise having a ball 2) Or something is actually wrong. I just decided to sit and wait it out. My new longer lace cover keeping me warm against the cold material ground. Moments later I heard a click and distant sounds of machinery. All of a sudden gallons of varying temperatures spilled from the ceiling. I was drenched, and swimming in at least a foot of warm and cold water. "Harry!" I screamed as loud as I could. "What the fuck!" He was so gonna get it. By the time I'm done with him, there isn't going to be anything left.

"You need something?" Harry appeared in the doorway, mirror closing behind him.

I spun around and threw my weight at him. Pressing him firm against the glass until I knew he would stay put. "What the fuck is this?" I forced his body solidly against the wall. His head lunging back to smash against the compact surface. Harry smirked and looked the other way. "You think this is funny?" I gripped his jaw with my finger nails. Giving his chest one last push into the mirror i started the other direction. Soaked and pissed, I was about ready to smash one
of these mirrors and push Harry down in the pieces.

"Hey Paris, love. I'm sorry, I accidentally hit something. I really didn't mean to." Harry had the audacity to lie to me.

I whipped around and hit him with my wrinkled fingers. "Can you honestly say that to my face?" I crossed my arms over my chest, very aware of the fact my clothes were sticking to me and probably translucent.

Harry paused, rubbing his hands on the back of his neck to avoid his secret confession. "That's what I thought." I attempted turning around again before I felt an unnecessary gesture. To hands wrapped around my waist and pulled me back a step. I had to much dignity to fall for any mans game. Shaking his hands off I moved across the pool.

"You can't just leave me here, not while you're like that." Harry motioned to my attire.
I coughed on my laugh. "Who do you think you are, taking to me like that? I am not an item." I bit my lip, trying to stay composed.

"I'm sorry Paris, I've been so stressed, and being around you really helps." I couldn't believe he was acting like such a douche to me.

"You can't be serious right now!" I was furious.

"I'm not." Harry paused. "Louis come on out." A mirror opened and revealed Louis and Casper.

"I just want to show you what it would be like to be with that meat head we saw at dinner. "

"What the f-" I started, I was so angry and confused.

"Allow me to explain." Louis stepped up. "This was just a little test. I thought of it last night just to make sure you were gonna make the wrong choice."

"I wasn't even considering him, but now, I mean why not." I threw my hands up and watch a sherry tensed and stared at Louis while he opened his mouth to persuade me otherwise.

"Look, Paris... We just wanted to prove a point." Casper joined it.

"First off, you told me not to be with Harry and now you're saying I should. So I don't really care for what you have to think." I was not in a good place with Casper.

Harry started, "Please Paris, don't be mad. I just-"

"Mad? Yeah I'm furious. But also very disappointed and shocked. Of course I'm upset, look at what the hell you did. And Obviously you don't have much trust or faith in me which is what relationships are based on."

"Paris you don't understand, it's hard to trust when you live like us." Louis approached.

"Thank you Louis, and Casper, but if I could, I'd like to talk to Harry alone." I tried being polite.

"Of course." Louis motioned Casper out. "I'll leave throws open just a crack."

Once I was certain they were gone I let my frustration go. "Harry? What kind of sick joke is this? I didn't doubt our relationship one minute before. I didn't even know he got ahold of my number. You jump to conclusion so fast, and take it to extremes."

"I'm sorry Paris, I'm so sorry." Harry crouched against the wall. "I don't know why I listened. Casper told me, and I-I listened even when I thought it was stupid. But I-I just don't know sometimes. One day you're gonna realize you're worth so much more than me and move on. I guess I just wanted to show what guys can do." Harry sounded emotional.

"You say I deserve the best, but if the best isn't you, I don't want it." I remained serious. "But just because you're uncertain, that doesn't mean you can pull some sort of stunt like this."

"I know Paris. Honestly, I feel so bad. But I can't have you leave me. I know I'm fucking stupid for going through with this. Nothing you can say is worse than what I'm thinking about myself right now. And I know you probably want a reason why, but truthfully I don't have one. I'm really sorry Paris. From the bottom of my heart I am." Harry wouldn't even look at me at this point. "Hate me, break up with me, whatever you want or do with me, I probably deserve it. But I'm not leaving without this."

Harry quickly stood up, splashing water everywhere as he ran across the crona. Spinning me quick, and gently pinning me against the wall, he hoisted up my soggy body and wrapped my legs around his waist. One arm holding me up by my thighs. The other against the wall. Filled with self hatred, he roughly went in for he kiss. He held nothing back, for he knew it could be his last. Harry tugged my bottom lip before pulling back and dragging his own lip between his
teeth. Giving me one last kiss on my forehead, he exited.

Now the rest of the day was mine. I knew right away I wasn't going to get rid of Harry. But he didn't need know that yet. He'll learn more if he thinks that could have been the last straw.

"Um. Paris can we talk?" Casper stopped me in the hall. "You can get dressed first if you'd like." She half guilty smiled.

I motioned her to follow me to the laundry room where I could snatch a few of Harry's clothes. "Go for it." I stripped and changed behind western doors.

Casper let out a big sign, "Look, that was my idea. I know I told you to ditch Harry-"

"Is that why you did it? To make me want to leave Harry?"

"No. I still don't think you should, but you two really are," she gulped, "good together. I'm sorry, but don't leave him over something I took part in. Leave him for something he did." Casper's words were so touching.

Louis approached me next. "Hey Paris, could we ah, talk?" Louis fiddled his thumbs and rocked on his heels. "So ah, this may have been my fault. I thought it could have been some funny prank and maybe a way to show you how trashy and sleazy some guys are. But I guess I kind of made Harry that guy in the process. " Louis made some funny faces. "Sorry about that, and for uh, getting you wet." He paused. "Boy, that sounded wrong." He laughed and then stopped after seeing my dull reaction. "Um, my point here is that he was just following our directions. He thought he could trust us, which didn't really work for him. So don't be mad at him. Well I mean you have every right to, but don't leave him. It's all our fault."

"Thanks Louis, but I think I already made up my mind." I gave him a grin and a pat on the back before exiting.

"Shit, he's toast." I heard him mutter and I could help but laugh.

On my way to my room I ran into Lou and Nobel. Lou grinned and Nobel silently judged the hell out of me and my baggy sweats. And all I wanted to do was get in her face about how they belong to Harry, my boyfriend. "Hey Paris, what happened this morning? I heard there was some prank?" The bitch had some nerve to talk to me.

Lou grabbed her wrist and tried pulling Nobel away. "Nobel, you don't want to start this." Lou warned in her ear, but she just waved her off.

"Yeah something like that. I mean it was a little prank war I have going on with Harry and a few others." I shrugged it off, not giving her the satisfaction she wanted.

"Really? Cause that's not what I heard." Again Lou tried to stop Nobel, but this was her way of revenge.

All of a sudden Casper appeared. "No, Paris is right. All of us team up and try to prank our boyfriends. Today Louis and I helped Harry get Paris. " I was shocked that she was standing up for me.

"Is that so? I've seen Harry has really downgraded." The bitch had the audacity to insult me. Wait, let me rephrase that, try to insult me.

"You know what, you really have no place here. Paris is ten times what you were with Harry. She's has twenty times the class even when she's dressed in Harry's clothes, like she is right now." Casper went off. "So seriously, back off Nobel." I just stood back, arms crossed, proud that Nobel was losing this battle.

"Ha, oh I bet. I mean honestly, what does he see in you? I just don't-"

"Hey." Harry barked from across the hall. "Nobel, come here." Nobel smirked and pranced towards him. She tried a bit too hard when she reached him. "You're kicked out. Follow me, Lou can gather your stuff and give it to you later. Nobody gets away with this." Harry grabbed her wrist and dragged her towards the exit.

In the time it took for Harry to drag her skanky ass out I took it upon myself to thank Casper. "I'm so sorry for being rude to you, Casper. Thank you so much for having my back!"

"This whole thing, beyond today's incident is all my fault. I don't know why but I just went against you, and that's not what friends do. I'm sorry Paris, forgive me?" I nodded and gave her a hug. "Uh, I think someone else wants to talk to you now." She pointed past me.

Harry patiently and awkwardly waited behind me. His head to the ground and his shoulders hunched, he was too scared to face me. "I'm sorry I didn't step in earlier. I thought you'd want your space, but I couldn't just let her talk to you like that." He still didn't look up. "I told her she can't ever come back unless she has a sincere apology and you choose to let her back." He paused then looked up. "If that's okay with you." His hand gestures were filled with concern.

"I'm sorry Paris, so sorry."

I smiled, a real, genuine smile. "You're adorable, you know?" I watched as his head slowly tilted up. "It means a lot how much you take this upon you. But everyone explained this to me, and after you stood up for me, that was just the cherry on top. I wasn't ever gonna leave." His innocent look twisted.

"You just let me think I lost you? I beat myself up over this." He sounded worn out.

"I wanted to make sure you learned your listen. If not, this was all a waste." I locked fingers with Harry to lift his spirits.

He stared at our hands for a moment before finally looking me in my eyes. "I'm sorry. Thank you." Harry brought our hands to his mouth and kissed the back of our hands with his plump lips. I tugged him towards the elevator but Harry stopped short. "I don't know if this is too soon," He paused again, "but you look fine as hell in my clothes." Harry tossed a wink and a crooked smile.
