Chapter 2

Chapter 2:

"Are you okay miss? Do you need me to get you some water?" The sexy man rubbed my back and set inside for a glass of water.

"I'm sorry Paris. You don't have to come if you don't want to. After all we just met yesterday." Caspers head hung a little lower.

"No, it's not that I don't want to. I just, well, I've never really been to a party." I admitted with an embarrassed shrug.

"What? Are you kidding? Why not, you are hot!" A smug grin rested on my face.

"Thanks. But I was always the quiet girl who sat in the back. I wasn't nerdy, I promise you I had tons of outgoing friends. But the role of the populars were always taken and duties to judge were deffentaely present." I sighed.

"Okay I get it, i didn't ask for your life story." Casper teased as I took e glass from the attractive sample boy. "So will you go?"

"Um, I guess-"

I am still unsure why I said yes. Like really, what made you think it was going to be okay? A large mass of intoxicated college kids grinding and touching on the dance floor of some huge home that will be trashed and littered within the first thirty minutes. Since when do I fit in with that scene? Never have and never will.

"Yes!" Casper squealed, causeing the attractive waiter to turn back around. Which trust me, wasn't a bad thing.

"Mind helping me get ready?"

"Do I mind? I was going to force you to let me help you." She laughed.

"Charming." I joked and took a bite of the burger that just arrived.

Funny, I don't remeber ordering. Maybe Casper did while I was choking. Great relationship we've got going here.

"Eat a lot here, it will help you later, i promise." She too took a bite of her sandwich.

"What am I suppose to wear?" I munched on a fry.

"Oh trust me sweetheart. I've got you all covered." Casper winked, giving me a slight feeling if nervousness.

"Oh god." I finished the last bit of my meal.

"Come on, let's go get ready." Casper dropped twenty bucks on the table and yanked me out of the booth.

"Why so early?" I whinnied.

"Beauty takes time. Plus with the way you've second guessing things, I think we are gonna need lots of time."

I giggled at her statement but instantly wanted to take it back. I knew that she was teasing but also hiding a bit of annoyance and seriousness towards me.

The walk from Mickey's to her apartment was about twenty minutes long, so not too bad. The whole time she told me about insane things that happened at previous parties. I guess you could say it was a interesting conversation.

As we neared and old brick building I got an anxious feeling in my stomach. It was old and red, covered in a few coats of spray paint on one wall. Each window had the curtains drawn, making the place look abandoned.

"Trust me, it's not scary on the inside." Caper reassured as if reading my mind. Without a second glance she was already dragging me through the thick wooden doors to the lobby. Inside was an old frait elevator and grand staircase. It was one of those highly expensive looking, rustic-modern buildings that are very popular these days. "Deceiving, inst it?"

"Uh yeah, you could say that." I was still a bit astunished by its beauty and the interior. A few people covered in tattoos brushed past Casper, making sure to bump her.

"Well hello to you too Louis!" She threw her hands up and spun around to scold him. "Back on track here. This is the lobby, incase you didn't notice, that was my friend Louis, he isn't as much as an asshole as he appears." She whispered the last part. "Anyway, let's get going, I live on the fifeth floor." Casper lead me to the old frait elevator and pressed the button numbered five.

With strips of heated metal making a mid-evil design, for a elevator door, you could clearly make out what was across the barrier. And from what I have seen each level had about two to four rooms and a nice open, round room, almost completely surrounded by windows, for a gathering place.

"Voila! We are here!" Casper slid the door open and stepped out into the gathering space. "The best part of being the fifth floor— you can see just over the tops of the buildings and get a perfect view of the sun setting over that old bridge over there." She pointed it out for me.

"I wish I had a place like this." I murmured to myself.

"Ya coming?" Casper called through her apartment.

"Yeah." I responded and backed into her room without once loosing connection with the sunset.

"You can set your bags down there." Casper pointed to a couch, "Bring the bag from the last store and follow me up to my room."

It was an odd set up, her apartment that is. With a all glass living room and partal glass kitchen, and then stairs leading into a dark hallway that opened up to more rooms.

"Here is the bathroom I share with the neighbor. Sound odd doesn't it, but we are all friends in this building." The bathroom too had a partial wall of glass. "And here is my room. Make yourself comfortable." Casper's room however had a tiny window and skylight. But the room I self was decorated in a light teal, beige, and grey. Not exactly what I would have guessed. She even and a strand of dangling icicle Christmas lights lining the tops of her walls.

"So, what's first?" I broke my awkward stares.

"Clothes. Mind tossing me your bag. I've got the perfect look all ready in my mind." She smiled.

"Here." She caught the bag one handed behind her began without even turning around. "Dang." I muttered.

"Oh, that's the first thing. You need to know how to swear. Work on it whenever possible. Now go put this on." Casper pushed me out her bedroom door towards the bathroom.

I knocked twice and there was no response, so I walked right in and began to strip. I have to admit, Casper is very good at manipulation. She's got me changing into damn lace panties and push up bra.

God it was hot in the bathroom, steam lined the mirror. I assumed her roommate just got out of the shower, but couldn't help but peek through the little window. I really fucking wish I didn't though. The girl on the other side was practically eating a guys face off and he was already in her pants. Yeah, not the best visual.

After that incounter I slipped on the outfit as fast as I could to get the fuck away from there. Well hey, at least on the bright side I'm getting used to the swearing.

"Damn, you look good." Casper complimented when I walked in wearing the grey mini skirt and black bandeau she had picked out earliers.

"Well shit, look at you." She was wearing a tight cap sleeve cotton mini dress with an extremely low v-neck and high ending. It accentuated her boobs and ass which I guess is a good thing.

"Here, accessories." I handed her a bracket and small heart choker and took out my necklaces and bracelets.

"To the bathroom!" Casper hopped off the bed and ran ahead as if she was a superhero.

Once we were inside Casper opened both doors slightly so the room wouldn't be as claustrophobic. But then she saw them.

"Ew Peyton! You can snog him all night long at the party, now brake apart. Like damn how long can you hold your breathe?" Casper teased without a hint of a smile. The two did as told and left the area, allowing Casper and I to get ready in peace. "I'm really loving the way your hair looks with this outfit, so I'm just gonna start your make up. "

About twenty minutes later I emerged with a picture perfect bowm smokey eye and nudeish pink lipstick. Meanwhile after a meer half an hour Casper had completed her make up. Her eyelids contrasted mine. While hers were silver going to black it countered her blond hair making a mystery appeal, like she had a deep dark edge to her. Where as mine consisted of a deep burgundy bleeding into a light carmel color, complimenting my greenish brown eyes, making them pop. Although mine wasn't as sexy as Casper's, they still gave that effect more then I thought it would.

"So where is this party?" I asked as we made our way back to her room.

"A large frat house on campus." Casper shrugged and texted someone.

"Ugh, I hate those." I whinnied opened Happy Jump on my phone. Man was that shit is addicting.
"Me too, but they throw the best parties."

"Not to be nosey, but I've got another question." I waited for a rude comment.
"Shoot."

Well never mind then. "I could have sworn your building was all brick and garffeted with drawn black curtains in the windows."

Casper just laughed. "I was waiting for the moment you realized that."

"So...? Any explanation?"

"It's one way glass. See I told you it was deceiving." Casper continued to laugh.

"Why do you have them?" I really hope I wasn't pushing it.

"Code rule. After all, the closer you look, the less you see." Casper finally stopped laughing.

"I don't think the statement isn't entirely true." I argued.

"Yes it is." She quickly concluded.

"I don't think so." I smirked.

Casper just sighed, realizing I wasn't giving up that easily. "While you were too focused on the old bricks with plants growing through the cracks, you missed the windows. Didn't even notice how ever floor looked exactly the same. You were looking to closely, analyzing every little detail without the big picture."

"Code?" I quickly changed the subject before admitting my defeat.

"Yeah, it's a rule for living here. But none of us mind, we get it." Casper shrugged.

"Ah." I agreed. But turly I still had no idea why every room needed fake walls.

"It's about 9:00 night now so we should start heading down." She looked at her phone and slipped it into a silver stud clutch.

"Heading down?" I cocked an eyebrow.

"My boyfriend Zayn is picking us up. Unless you felt like a walk."

"Hell no! I ain't walking that far in these!" I motioned down to my five inch stiletto heals.

"Thought so." She chuckled and pressed a button in the elevator.

"So, what does this Zayn guy look like?" I teased.

"That." She smiled and raced out of the elevator to jump in the arms of her boyfriend.

After an uncomfortable minute of hugging and kisses, they finally stepped apart. "Hi, I'm Zyan." He stuck out his had. I didn't hesitate to take it.

"Paris." I smiled.

He's quite attractive. I mean, the jaw line and bone structure, the beard and hair. Oh, and how could I forget the tattoos and clothes? He seriously looks like a fucking Gucci model. But I'm not really surprised. Casper is very attractive, and it's good that she has someone like this.

"Nice to meet you Paris. I haven't seen you around here before." Zayn smiled.

"You too. And Casper and I just met yesterday." I returned the friendly gesture.

"And how is that?"

"I may have split a drink on her." Casper bowed her head.

"Sounds like my baby, clumsy as fuck." He teased and pulled Casper into a hug and kiss on the forehead.

As precious as that was, it made me feel a little uneasy. I have never really been in a relationship, and the one time I did, it was a wreck. He was a true sweetheart to me but couldn't even bring up the relationship infront of his friends. He would just play it off and then go right back into there conversation. I still wonder why his friends didn't know. Hell, he ditched them and a few girls to work with me in science. Or that one time when I told the teacher I was going to be gone before the field trip and he yelled over the class that he would make my journal for me. Oh and that one day where I kept tripping over my shoes, so I stopped to tie them and he shoved me over. After I made it clear that his actions were not necessary he bent down and began tying my shoes, right there infront of everybody. But then I found some disturbing news.

The memories came flooding back. It didn't hurt or sting like in the movies. That was in early high school school. Where you where yoga pants an Uggs, with a v-neck t-shirt and you're considered slutty.

"Aliright, lets go! I'm ready to let loose and get drunk!" Casper called of with a scream and sprinted out he lobby doors.

"Come on, let's go get her." Zyan smiled and we walked side by side out the door into the crisp autumn air. He even held the door open form me and offered me his coat. Like come on! We are not even dating and he is being a complete gentleman! "Here we are. She is probably already rocking out on the inside." We walked up to an old red 1969 Chevrolet Camaro.

"Damn." I muttered.

"You like her?" He face lit up and patted the hood.

"Well yeah, look at it." I motioned towards the car.

"Glad to hear that. Everyone says Harry has a better car, even Casper."

"Harry?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, yeah. Forgot, sorry. Um, you will see him tonight." Zayn looked a little troubled and nervous saying those words. "Let's just go." He quickly changed the subject and opened my door and then moved to his side.

I hopped right in and mumbled a thank you. After safely buckling up we sped off towards the campus.

There was a short period in time where it was a calming silence. However Casper and Zayn apparently did not agree. One moment it was silent and the next thing you know, heavy rock and rap music is blaring through the speakers. Which, might it add, were directly behind me. But they didn't seem to care, they probably didn't even notice my dismay.

"We are about a minute away!" Zayn shouted over the music, not bothering to turn it down. I nodded and took in the sights. I have only been to this side of the campus once, because of misdirections. But other than that, this was all very new to me. "It's the last house on the left." Zayn switched off the music.

Oh shit.

Drunk students were already outside, pasted out in the yard. Red cups were everywhere and you could hear the music a mile away. And judging by how many cars there were, this place was going to be packed, oh and not to mention those who walked here. None if that however, scared me more that this. The frat house was on a lake.

That means truth or dare, skinny dipping, outrageous cat fights, and druken swimming. All of which, are terrible ideas.

"Coming?" Casper stood with my door open. I hardly even noticed we where here, I was too consumed in my thoughts.

"Uh, yeah." My voice sounded weak, so I tried to step out of the car with confidence to mask it.

"Alright, let's just go find the rest of them." Zayn took Casper's hand and guided us through the door.

I gulped, them?

"Ahh, what took you guys so long?" A dirty blond haired boy greeted Zayn with a 'bro hug' as I call it.

"Hey Niall." Both Casper and Zayn responded.

"Who's that?" A straight, brown, haired boy asked.

"Who? Paris? She's a new friend of mine." Casper let go of Zayn and pulled me forward to face a group of tattooed guys and a few slutty girls.

"Louis." The boy stuck he's hand out.

"Paris." I half smiled and shook his hand.

"Nice too meet you, I'm Niall." The blood haired boy waved.

"You too." I actually smiled.

"Ha, Virgin Mary looks like she's never seen a party before." Some redish purple haired girl snickered for the corner.

"Shut up Bailey!" A guy with short brown hair walked up to me. "Please ignore her, she is just jealous there is a beautiful girl in the room." I blushed at his comment. I just pray he was flirting. "I'm Liam by the way." He flashed a perfect smile. Of all of them that i had seen, he was the least intimidating. It seemed like he only had a few tattoos and a genuinely nice personality.

"Paris." I smiled.

"I went there once, but it was raining the whole time. Not as glamorous as I expected." He hinted at a joke.

I giggled a bit, "I've never been, but I really want to."

"You should go some time, I think you'd love it." Liam grinned.

"Maybe I-"

"What! Are you fucking kidding me?" A girl shrieked.

"Calm down Holly." A curly brown haired boy stepped away from another girl to talk to this Holly.

"Calm down? Are you fucking drunk? I caught you cheating on me and that's all you have to say?" Holly screamed, silencing us all.

"We all know you were just a simple fuck and that was it." The guy remained completely calm.

"You're such an asshole, you pig!" She threw her drink at that ground and ran away. The guy just shrugged and went back to the other girl who was patiently waiting for him to return.

"Who is that?" I turned to Liam.

"Harry, don't talk to him, he's a complete asshole." Liam turned stern.

"Oh great here he comes." I muttered.

"Don't talk to Harry, just ignore him." Liam whispered and watched Harry approach.

"Who is this?" Harry angerly huffed.

"Paris." I gritted and looked over to Casper who was giving me a thumbs up.

"Damn, what's your problem." I just snorted at his comment and turned back to Liam to continue our conversation. "I wasn't done." He pestered.

"Really? Cause I was." I smirked and walked away. Much to my dismay, he followed. "Can I help you?" I turned around and raised my voice.

Now people began to look.

"I just want to warn you. I won't be going away, better watch that attitude." Harry whispered in my ear and stalked away.
