Chapter 1
A strong smell of coffee filled the musty morning air. It was a coldy and crisp morning, a little odd for early September. Even at nine o'clock when most student would be at home studying, the small café we still buzzing.
"Ahh!" I turned to see the slow motion version of a tripping girl. And that's when I felt warmth spreading throughout my lap. "Oh my god! I am so sorry!" I tall blonde cooed and tried to mop up her mess of a drink that she spilled on my lap.
"Um, it's alright." I tried to remain calm while the hot clothes stung.
"No, I seriously am. Um, I'll take you shopping for new clothes, I promise." A worried look was plastered on her face.
"Yeah sure." I smiled and she relaxed.
"I'm Casper, by the way." She smiled and stuck out her hand.
I know I shouldn't be one to judge, but she sure was super pleasant and sweet for all the tattoos she had.
"Paris." I took her hand and shook it.
"I've always wanted to go to Paris."
"Me too." I agreed.
"Well here is my number." She placed a little strip of paper on the table. "Give me a call when you are free to go shopping."
I nodded and tucked the note away. "Im free tomorrow."
"Okay, that's fine with me, I was going to skip anyway." She shrugs.
"Great." I muttered. "Meet you here at noon?"
"Yeah, sounds perfect!" Casper smiled and made a note of it on her phone. "Well, good bye Paris. See you tomorrow." She waved and headed out.
Great now I have to walk across town with coffee stains on me.
The Next Day…
As much as I enjoy shopping, I was not looking forward to today. It wasn't that I didn't like Casper, it's just we are complete opposites.
She has tattoos and piercings. And I had to wait until I was fifteen to get my ears pierced.
My biggest fear in the whole world is being judged, and I feel that when I'm with her people will constantly be giving me looks. And who knows, Casper will probably judge me too based on my store and appearal choices. As wimpy as this sounds, I will probably just let her buy me whatever she wants just to appease her.
All of a sudden a buzzing snapped me out if my thoughts.
> Forget about me already? You didn't seem like that type of person. <</strong>
The message from Casper reads. My mind instantly went back to my wicked assumptions. 'This is a terrible idea, she already judged you. Just save yourself the embarrassment and cancel.'
< Sorry I'm running late, be there in five minutes. >
I texted back and swung my brown purse over my shoulder and literally sprinted the whole way there. I slowed down around the last corner to make it seen as if I hadn't just been running.
I spotted Casper the moment I stepped through the big wooden doors. "Hey Paris, you look great!" Casper gushed as she looked me over.
"Thanks." I mentally high fives myself for picking out so thing more Casper-ish.
Wow I've known her for what, like a night, and I'm already worried about how I'm suppose to look. And god, it's not like we are dating. Like come on Paris get your crap together.
"Uh, Paris?" Casper snapped.
"Sorry, I'm just a little nervous." I admitted, but instantly regretted.
"Nervous of what? Please don't tell me I intimidate you!"
"No, no. It's nothing really." I reassured. "Let's just get going." I quickly changed the subject.
"Might as well." Casper agreed and matched out of the local shop with me closely following behind.
For the most part the first few stores when well. We both accidentally picked out the same Ramones shirt, but agreed to both purchase it. And much to my disbelief we actually shopped at the same stores. Infact, we were very similar in many ways. We both came from nice towns and lived with our parents and older brother. We both had a pet dog and many, many let goldfish. Casper and I even loved to shop at the sane stores! But for the record , who doesn't like Target, JC Pennies, Charoltte Rouse, Forever 21, and Pasun? However our tastes were slightly straying. Both then again we had our differences. Where as we were both the same height, Casper was a bit curvier where I was tall and lean. She had curly blonde hair, contrasting my straight brown hair. I had brownish green eyes and she had crystal blue. But the biggest difference was the tattoos and confidence.
"Come on Paris, you look great! Just get it so we can leave, I'm starving!" Casper whinnied and rubbed her stomach.
"I just don't know-" I started to talk myself out of it.
"Paris, look at your fucking self!" I cringed at her choice of words. "You're gorgeous! Who cares what other people think?" She threw her hands up in the air.
I looked down at the outfit I had on. It consisted of white Convers, black low waisted jean shorts, a coral and brown tribal print bandeau, and a loose black button up. Paired with it was a large brown bag and gold bracket to match the buttons.
"Well I guess so..."
"Finally! I'd like to thank not only God, but Jesus!" Casper cheered. "Now you have two more to go."
I sighed and walked back to the dressing room yet again. This time the clothes were even less covering. I was to showcase a pair of high waisted, light wash, ripped jean shorts, and a corset style, deep blue bandeau. Paired with a bold white necklace and silver arm bangle.
"Shut the front door!" Casper squealed and admired me.
"You really think I can pull it off?"
"Hell yeah you can!" She couldn't stop admiring me. "Now all you need is a loose fishtail side braid and you're set to go."
"Alrighty then. One more to go." I settled towards the dreaded changing room.
"Make that two!" Casper chucked another outfit it.
I took a deep sigh and glanced over claspers next choice. I glared at it in horror. "Um, Casper. I think you forgot a piece." I shouted through the barricade.
"Nope. Just put it on! I want to see it!"
"You so owe me!" I threatened and revealed my monsterous clothes.
"Holy shit! You look amazing."
"Really cause I feel revealed." I attempted to cover up but Casper swatted my hands away.
"Clothes are all about reaching out of your comfort zone and trying something new." She insisted.
"So! That doesn't mean you have to put me in this!" I argued and glared at the reflection in the mirror.
It casted a tall skinny brunette with olive skin and perfect white smile. The girl was wearing a bow bandeau that just barly did it's job. Along with faded white wash, high waste jean shorts with neutral daises and gold studs on one side. Her thin wrists were decorated with gold bengals and hair slicked back into a messy poney. She look young and cute, but at the same time, daring, and mature. It was a perfect combination.
"I can tell you like it." Casper smirked, pulling me our of my trance.
"Whatever." I huffed, bit letting her win. "It's time for the last outfit."
I didn't even bother looking this one over before getting dressed in it. But judging by its coverage, I was going to like it.
"Holy motherfucking shit! You look so fucking fit and sexy, like damn, you look hot!" Casper exclaimed.
"Easy there sailor." I teased and did a one eighty.
"God, I love this." I murmured to myself and stared at my reflection.
A grey and black tribal print mini skirt hugged my thighs. While a long, black, leather, strapless bandeau squeezed my boobs, making them look way bigger that they actually are. On top if that was a creme, snake skin blazer.
"Here, take these." Casper handed me a large silver medallion necklace, a leather strip of bracelet wrapped around my wrist, a back, silver bedazzled, clutch, and black pumps.
"I-I-I…" I stuttered like fool.
"Do you model?"
"No."
"Will you should."
I smiled and thanked Casper for yet another surprising round of clothing.
"Ready to go?"
"Yeah, I could really go for a burger right now." Casper patted her tummy.
"Burgers it is! I think I know this really good place just around the corner." I guided us out of the mall and back onto the streets.
As we approached the neon sign labled a Mickey's Dinner, a tall, handsome looking guy approached with samples.
"One for each of you my pretty ladies." The man purred, causeibg Casper and I to give each other 'the look'.
"Thanks." Casper began. "Now as I was saying… I've had a lot of fun with you and was wondering if you'd go with me to this party tonight?"
And that's when I nearly choked on my sample, infront of an insanely attractive guy. God my luck is just great?
"Ahh!" I turned to see the slow motion version of a tripping girl. And that's when I felt warmth spreading throughout my lap. "Oh my god! I am so sorry!" I tall blonde cooed and tried to mop up her mess of a drink that she spilled on my lap.
