True love?
Friday
Dear diary,
I know I haven't written anything this past week, but that's because I met Louis. That first week with Louis Tomlinson in my life went really fast. After that night at Louis' house, we never spoke again about what happened. We just kept on practicing for our audition for West Side Story and hoped we could get the leads. I was getting really fond of Louis. He always managed to make me laugh. He constantly tried to open up and tell me all about him. Still the thing that kept unhappy seemed to be playing continuingly on the background. At moments he could just stop talking in the middle of a sentence and stared for the following minutes. Our classmates were starting to notice this too and I tried my very best to keep it hidden. When he didn't respond anymore I tried to make up a story really fast and started talking as long as I could to fill up the silence. I would talk about things that didn't need a response from Louis. This also happened when Elody and Lena were near and one day they asked me about it. I tried to say that it was nothing and he was just nervous for our audition, but they didn't buy it. They knew -as always- I was lying. Nevertheless, it was the most fun I had had in my whole life. Each night we would go to Louis' house and sing and play pranks on each other. One time Louis wanted to scare me by standing behind his door when I walked in his room, intentionally to jump behind it and scare me, but I saw it coming and yelled before he had the change to dit. It was hilarious! He squeaked like a little girl and jumped backwards. He hit is elbow against the wall and mumbled something like God damn it! . I had to laugh so hard I was sure I could pee any moment in my pants. Luckily that didn't happen. I guess that's it. I'm excited for tomorrow as we'll be auditioning for a part in the school musical.
Xoxo Tessa
"Louis, are you ready?"
"Yes, I hope we get the leads and otherwise I'll be happy to play a singing tree."
"I'm sure we'll sing their asses off."
I was nervous too. My hands were starting to sweat and my knees were buckling. For once in my life I noticed the room around me. We were waiting in a older classroom near to the auditorium. The walls were covered with a yellowish paint and the furniture was even older than the furniture from my classroom. Some chairs only had three legs and the blackboard was full of scratches. It was obvious that no class was seated here. There were also holes in the walls and the floor trembled when you walked on it. Louis and I were sitting on the ground facing each other. Louis had his face in his hands and was mumbling soft words I couldn't understand. The kids around us were staring down at us. Probably figuring out if we could sing. I noticed some of the popular girls standing in the corner of the classroom giggling and sometimes pointing at us. I guess they thought Louis was hot or something because they were also whispering and gesturing each other to come towards us, or I should say towards Louis. Before any of the girls started coming at Louis, a boy opened the door and said it was our turn. I stood up and tapped Louis on his head.
"Come on, why don't we let them know who the great Louis Tomlinson is?"
He smiled and followed me to the auditorium. We entered the podium and each got handed a microphone. I told the engineering guy which song we were going to sing so he could play it when we had to sing. Once on the podium the drama teacher, who was sitting at the jury's table on our right, asked:
"Names, please. And for which role are you auditioning to."
"Hello, my name is Tessa Kingston and I'm auditioning for Maria."
"My name is Louis Tomlinson and I want to be Tony."
"Okay, lets hear it. Music please."
Louis and I started singing. It was even better than at Louis' house. Our voices were even more powerful and we sang amazing. I saw the drama teachers eyebrows go up and her mouth fell wide open. The other teachers next to her were whispering at each other and nodding. When we finished the drama teacher said:
"We know enough. Thank you, you two will get the parts you want. We only need to find some people who'll fill you in if someone's sick at the performance. "
Happy. That was how I felt. I laughed, yelled, squeaked,... I jumped at Louis and he caught me up. He was laughing too and started swirling me around. Eventually we realised we were still on the podium and went to the hall.
"Tess! We got the part! I'm so happy!"
"I said so! We were amazing!"
We were now back with the other students in the hall and I ran to Lena and Elody.
"Lena! Elody! We got the parts!"
"Congrats!" "Amazing!"
I hugged them both at once. After doing that I noticed Louis. He was still standing behind me and he was smiling. After a while it was time to go back to class. We were still enthusiastic and happy when we walked in our class. We sat at a table in the back so we could talk during class without the teacher noticing it. Louis got his school journal out of his backpack when a photo slipped from between the pages and floated to the table before us. Kyle, a boy from our class picked it up and looked at it.
"Is that your girlfriend, Louis? Hot girl, but I was almost sure you were dating Tessa."
Louis face had gone pale and he was shaking pretty hard.
"Give it back, please."
His please was more like a order than a request and I saw Kyle wouldn't let go.
"No. Not until you tell me who she is."
"Give it back!"
Louis shouted. Everybody turned to see what was happening and Louis grabbed the picture from Kyle's hand. He also grabbed his backpack, closed it and exited the classroom. This went all so quick I didn't understand what had just happened. Our teacher entered the room and I knew what to do. I went to the teacher and asked her if I could leave class and maybe school to find Louis. She agreed and said she would handle things with the principal. Apparently she knew more than I did because she said I wouldn't find him in school anymore. I grabbed my stuff and ran out of school. After running two minutes I saw him sitting under a tree in the park we had to cross each day on our way to school or home.
"Louis! Louis!"
Louis was crying, even worse than last time. He looked up at me and said:
"I guess it's time to tell you, huh?"
I sat down next to him and put my hand on his arm.
"You don't have to do anything."
"I'll tell you Tess. You have the right to know. The reason why I'm so sad is-"
