Chapter 3
~ Samantha's POV ~
I began my walk home when someone called my name from behind me. I turned around and look at Harry who was running to catch up to me.
"Samantha. Hey." He said out of breath. I smiled in amusement at him and he gave me a dimpled one in return.
"Hi Harry... Whats up?" I said jokingly. He laughed sarcastically and i rolled my eyes playfully.
"You walk home? Where do you live" He asked while walking beside me.
"It's this street behind the hospital, it's called Cerro Vista. Why? Do you walk home too?" I asked him back. He nodded his head and I smiled to myself.
"It's good now, because I can have a walking buddy." He said. I looked at him with my eyebrows raised.
"Harry! I'm not sure I'm ready for that step yet! We are barely even on talking terms!" I said sarcastically while looking at him in amusement.
"Oh, alright Sammy, we'll just silently walk beside each other so we don't look like loners." I laughed at him and he joined me.
"Sounds like a plan to me!" I agreed with a goofy grin on my face.
"So, Samantha. Would you ever... consider going on a date with me?" He asked, his smile fading into a serious expression.
"Well... Yeah. But why me?" I asked. He looked at me with his mouth agape.
"Ummm because your like... awesome, and beautiful, and I would really like to get to know you more." I looked at the ground ahead of me and smiled slightly.
"Sure. Why the hell not?" I said with a giggle. "I couldn't possibly lose anything else." I muttered under my breath making sure he couldn't hear me.
"Well.. This is my street, I'll see you tomorrow?" Harry asked. I smiled at him and nodded.
"Date on Friday?!" He yelled as he walked down the street. I nodded again and waved. My heart thumped wildly as I reprocessed the events that just occurred. I found myself smiling and I laughed happily to myself.

As I reached my driveway I noticed my Dad's car in the garage. Dammit.
I silently opened and closed the front door in hopes of him not hearing me. I began to walk to my room when I heard him clear his throat to catch my attention.
"Hey Dad." I bit my lip nervously and looked at the floor.
"So. How was school? Any boys?" He asked. I shook my head and mumbled a quiet "no" and he forcefully grabbed my chin to look at him.
"LOOK AT ME WHILE I'M TALKING TO YOU!" He yelled, causing me to flinch.
"So, tell me again. Any boy at school trying to make their moves on you?" He snapped.
"No Dad." I choked back the tears as he sighed and let go of me.
"Go to your room and don't come out until I say it's time for dinner. Understand?"
"Yes." He shoved me away from him and I ran to my room. I closed my door and grabbed my head phones. I plugged them into my IPhone, and I blasted 5SOS through the ear buds. I pulled out my homework and began working on my math.
My Father... is something else. He can be the nicest, most caring Dad you could ever imagine if he had a good day. If he had a bad day at work he can be aggressive, and totally abusive.
