Chapter 5
I was going to wake up any second, I could feel it. But it never happened. This was real. I had never, ever felt like this before. I liked him as well. “Yes” I replied, excited to see where this journey would take us. So I guess I was dating Liam. Liam Payne. Member of One Direction. No biggie.
He gave me a gentle peck on the cheek and with his hand still in mine, walked me offstage and through a corridor into a secluded room. We were both beaming as we sat and talked, out of the eyes of busy people, preparing for the show.
We talked to each other and I asked him about his life since he joined the band, and he asked me about where I lived and worked. We talked about our interests, beliefs and innermost thoughts.
It was one of the most in-depth conversations I have ever had. I felt really comfortable with him, could barely believe that someone as well-known as him could be so genuine. He told me that he was at ease talking to me and said that my “beauty did no justice” to my personality. I was amazed when he was talking – it felt like we were both under a spell, cast by some ancient goddess of love.
Eventually after what felt like a lifetime of being in his presence, we heard a knock on the door “Guys put some clothes on, I’m coming in” said a husky voice. Then Harry walked in laughing hard. “Hey man”, Liam said. “This is my girlfriend, Haylee. The one I was telling you about” he continued proudly. “Well she is more hot than you were bragging about, Liam”, Harry smiled. “Hi Harry”, I said shyly, fiddling with Liam’s fingers. He was pretty intimidating with his infamous good looks and stunning green eyes. His hair was slightly ruffled as he ran his hands through it.
The three of us made small talk, with Liam always firmly holding my hands, afraid to let go. After a while Harry said that in about an hour it would be show time, so they should be getting ready.
In the crowded dressing room, I met Louis, Zayn, and Niall (who was preoccupied with eating the food platter in the corner). They were all such lovely people, and I had heard from Louis that last night Liam couldn’t stop talking about me.
I was so flattered by Liam – I had never experienced such emotions like the ones he evoked within me. I felt awkward sitting on the sofa that was pushed up against the wall, but my boyfriend (my boyfriend!) continually came up to me and asked if I was ok.
As I tried to stay out of the way of assistants, I was thinking that I was the luckiest girl alive; something that I had told Liam when he had checked up on me only minutes before.
When he was busy talking to some crew people, I got a few sideway glances and smirks from Harry – what was that about? Suddenly feeling self-conscious, I pushed him out of my mind and reminded myself that I would talk to him later.
My eyes diverted to Liam, who was now pulling on a pair of jeans, but he was shirtless, and only naturally I stared at his toned body. He caught me looking at him and I smiled shyly.
We both couldn’t resist. We ran towards each other and met with a full-blown kiss, that we continued until Zayn yelled at us; “Get a room!”; Which was exactly what we did.
